I love Cameron's movies but the dude has an ego the size of a planet,i'd be shocked if he credited anyone else:cwink:

Cameron is very smart director. If he isn't, then why almost every his movie was event in movie history?

I think Story just used T-1000 as a model for SS, and that's very simple to understand, if you saw trailer.

The Silver Surfer was around for 20 plus years before the T-1000.

Being smart and successful has nothing to do with this though Cine,he can borrow just like anyone else

No what is evident is Story took the comic book character and put it onscreen, any similarities are down Cameron's original use of the look under another name

Then why Story wouldn't change the look of SS? For example, make him look darker and not so mirror like. He could do this.

Zen Ith has already explained why Cameron made T-1000 to look so, consequence of the character being made of liquid metal.

Because he's the SILVER SURFER. Silver being the operating word.

Why should Story change the look when he can make it look like it is supposed to ?

Like i said to Zen ith there were other options im sure,im not knocking Cameron at all

The way I see it, Tim Story had two choices:

a. Change the design of one of the greatest characters in comics history to prevent people who don't have a lot of imagination and only observe superficial visual similarities from comparing SS to the Terminator character. . .

. . . or . . .

b. Do the Surfer faithfully and deal with any comparisons.

Thankfully he went with "b".

The truth is you can't please everyone. You make him one color others will get mad.

Just like Dragon said, "Because he's the SILVER SURFER. Silver being the operating word."

To not make people (not fans) start thinking that SS is a cheap copy of T-1000.

Well, I think when the audience sees the guy has powers totally unlike the T-1000, but is referred to as the Silver Surfer, they'll figure out the difference.

Like Dragon said the audience isn't that dense.Story followed the classic design which is how it should be for this character since he is the Silver Surfer

Well i only got to see that poor quality version on youtube and wow i was blown away, i have to see this in much better quality a.s.a.p..

But so far so good!!!

Sadly he went for "a" with Doctor Doom...(too similar to Darth vader?:D)

You think they should change the Silver Surfer. Change this startlingly faithful cinematic representation of a character beloved for over 40 years.

So people won't confuse him with T-1000. Or think that Story ripped a 15-year old character.

(Shakes head in disbelief, leaves this for others to handle...)

Best bet is Tuesday if we are lucky, there won't be the relevant people in the office until then.

Pretty funny, Richards. :cwink:
I feel obliged to remind everyone, however, that Stan Lee did not create the Silver Surfer. Jack Kirby did. He decided Galactus should have a herald and drew the Surfer into the story he and Stan had discussed. Stan himself has said this in many interviews.
Yes, Stan provided dialogue for the character; but who and what the Surfer is, all that was determined by Jack before Stan even knew the character existed.
