I find strange that he seems to be running in terror at first, then as soon as they mention his shoes he's ready for a fight, complete with angry-'bout-to-go-mad-hero-on-your-ass face.

Geoff Johns is in the pocket of Nike. The entire issue is actually going to be an extended commercial for their new sneakers.

Nike Flash: The sneakers so good you'll fight for them.

Never mind that it was completely ****ing redundant.

Of course it was redundant. That is why I hated it so much.

I miss the days when Kon was a fun character.

Say what you will about Geoff Johns, but Adventure Comics was damned fun to me.

I chose not to buy it when I heard that Superboy Prime would be appearing.

I have, on occasion, lefed through the issues on the rack but it has seemed like more of the same from Johns to me.

I don't mean to imply you weren't aware, I just have to point it out anyway.

I believe Johns feels that every team must have one exceedingly irritating and angsty character.

Well, maybe I enjoyed it because I've always loved seeing Superboy embrace his heritage and have bits of Superman's honest, earnest goodness shine through. The issue where Cassie shows up and confesses that she kissed Tim and Conner just brushes right past it, honestly not caring about it at all because of the circumstances, is one of my favorite issues of last year.

Neither have I. I have always found him to be one of the most tedious characters in modern comics and he is another of the Villain Sues that Johns appears to be obsessed with to an unhealthy degree.

I can only hope that the Black Lanterns ate the brat's heart raw.

I was particularly irritated by the endless "Luthor didn't clone me to help people" nonsense. Because of course, evil is genetic

I'm gonna maybe tradewait the first arc. Cons: From Secret Files and Origins, it seems uncomfortably like Johns is writing Barry a lot like how he's writing Hal. I can't put my finger on it, they act very differently but it's like they're still the same person or something.

Pros: From Secret Files and Origins, it seems like Johns is playing the long game again with this, with several longterm plots including the whole dumbstupid situation with Barry's mom. He keeps stressing how GL represents space and Flash represents time...and GL just fought against an entity that supposedly represents space itself. Is Flash going to eventually fight against an entity that represents time?

I can understand what you mean about the Hal and Barry comparison they do seem oddly familiar in a Johns way.
