I wonder what villains they'll be using, flash has so many to choose from. I like the description Guggenhiem gave too.

Michael Turner is not a good basis to judge comic book anatomy on; he drew with very stylized look. Someone could easily recreate the look artists like Karl Kerschel or Francis Manapul give the Flash.

Yeah dear God no armor please. Why does The Flash need armor? he's about speed and motion, he needs to look sleek and cool, not clunky and...bulky. How would that even fit into a ring? It's hard enough accepting that the boots and ear pieces collapse. Think of the costume as being more energy based if anything...I do want to see his police scanner in the ear piece tho. Always thought that was cool.

A more favorable comparison would have been Dexter. All those science of crime type shows bore me to tears, and at least Dexter keeps things entertaining and doesn't get bogged down by technical mumbo-jumbo.

Here's what I think of when I hear "CSI":

^^ yeah I get what you mean. CSI just gets the point across easier. I think that's also why they said Silence of the Lambs. Flash should be like a combination of Dexter, Star Trek, Iron Man, Incredibles, and Back to the future IMO...

I have an idea for the trilogy of sorts for Flash,
It starts with crime scene investigator Barry Allen, we get to know his character a little before he becomes Flash and one thing we find out is that as a young boy his mother was murdered. Something that has always drove him, like him becoming a CSI guy.

then one night he is hit by lightning in a lab and then doused with chemicals (like we all know)

In movies 1 and 2 he fights super criminals like Captain Cold and the Mirror Master, and it would be cool to involve as many rogues as possible like the Top and the Trickster and Captain Boomerang, to show Flash's relationship with them all,
But in the 3rd film we meet the reverse Flash, Professer Zoom. We find out that he is every bit as powerful as the Barry but can also time travel. We find out that he murdered Barry's mom, and that he caused the lighting and spilling of chemicals that created Barry. He has been traveling through time messing with Barry's life this whole time.
Throughout movies 1 and 2 we could even has slight hints, but never show him. So it would sort of make him the villain of all three movies.

Yeah, he's too old

Around the same age as RDJ.

To me, even though Pitt is about ten years older than Christian Bale, he seems younger, so I wouldn't rule it out completely. I doubt it'd happen though.

Brad looks extremely young (and acts youthful) for his age. But I just don't think he's right for The Flash despite me liking the dude.

I like Brad but I think starting a franchise that might go for 10 years at 45 isnt good

Plus Pitt's not right for the role

Love Brad and I've wanted to see him as some type of comic book character for years but I really don't think he'd be a good fit for The Flash. I wouldn't be too terribly upset over him cast in the role but I just don't know if it'd be a good fit for the role (as far as personality), as far as physicality goes... he's definitely got it.

Bottom line is it should be someone more on the younger side, that has a lot of modern popularity and would get a young audience wanting to see it. Then that person should be paired by an actor that'll appeal to both younger and older audiences playing the villain. Then an actress that all of the young girls connect with easily for the love interest. That's how it's going to need to play out for this film. Just because of popularity.

If a kid hasn't watched Justice League then they're probably not going to know the character very well. And the older audience probably only has the very short lived and horrible Flash tv series as an example. The casting is going to need to be what draws EVERYONE in.

Liars go to Hell! :cmad:

It was canceled after only ONE season for a reason, you know.
So Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, and Firefly (don't care for it, but it was fairly well-received) are terrible too?

It had the same time-slot as The Simpsons and The Cosby Show and was often preempted by coverage of the Gulf War, add to that the show was expensive. No show would have made it in that position.

Yes I do think that all of those shows you just listed were terrible. And when I watch episodes of The Flash I can't think of anything but how cheesy and terribly acted they are. Don't get me wrong they're classic but they're classic along the lines of the Batman series with Adam West and Wonder Woman with Lynda Carter.

And actually, I would probably say that The Flash is probably cheesier than WW.

But besides that, I didn't created that post to start some stupid debate about whether The Flash series was good or how bad other shows were either... the fact is if that series was the only example of The Flash that someone from the mainstream audience that doesn't know ANYTHING about the character or comics has, then the casting for this movie is gonna be the only thing that is able to draw them in for the film.

I've never seen Undeclared, but I love Freaks And Geeks.

Pine would be great as Flash. I don't see it happening, since it's early days, but it'd be cool.
