I also really like that Porter seems to be such a big fan of the comics (he also loves to play HeroClix):

It's great to see actors who actually like comics going in getting a chance at the roles.

I've never seen her act, so I don't know if she could play Wonder Woman. I just found her charming in the interview.

Back when Justice League was on, I was giving her the benefit of the doubt, even though she was the most mature and manly looking of the entire cast :hehe:

Anyway, Porter had a bit part in Speed Racer and he was really good for what he had to do. He has that honorable hero vibe, and the looks for the part.

Neil Patrick Harris has been a favorite of mine to play Barry for awhile now. Scott Porter would be a decent choice, IMO. As for which one should get it, if they're going with an older, established Barry, then go with Harris. If they're planning on an origin story, then pick Porter.

Yea with wb likely wanting to keep theses first films as origin pics want to have them be young so they can get lead semi young age and lock into a multi pic deal.

Wally West is a deeper and more fleshed out chracter than Barry Allen. Wally stories are more character based, in my opinion. And that is what you need for a successful movie. If Barry is used, look for him to have the personality of Wally West at the very least.

Dan Dido is an idiot for bringing back Barry Allen. I don't know what this guys obession is with taking DC Comics back in time, but as a fan of the newer DC suff this is upsetting and unfair, and I don't just mean blowing off Wally West, but everything he is doing in general.

How old was Christian Bale for Batman? IIRC he got a three pic deal.

I may not have read much about Barry but there should be enough for a fleshed out character with his personality. They can definitely go to different places then Wally with him.

Yea, after having a day to think about it, Porter would be cool as Wally. Not my first choice, but I would be happy.

first we still have to wait and see who the film is about and who will be cast officially.

I think Neil Patrick Harris would make for a decent Flash. I'd prefer if they went the Barry Allen route since Green Lantern is going with Hal Jordan anyway. Sure that idea has been mentioned already.

Bradley Cooper from earlier is another good choice too.

I like the idea of Bradley Cooper as Guy Gardner better.

yea alot of folks here have said he would be a g ood guy before right? Yea i too keep saying since gl film is getting to start with hal jordan they should have barry have the honnor of getting first film too plus the whole thing with barry's return to the comics.

I wouldnt be able to watch him as Flash. I can only see Guy/Zoom.
Scott Porter or NPH on the other hand, would make kickass Flash's

I really don't get the Bradley Cooper as Zoom suggestion. I don't think I could ever see him as a villian.

I wish the Neil Patrick Harris rumor has some weight.

At least with Aint it Cool News, Harry or whomever would tell where he heard the rumor from, or 'try' to back it up somehow. Here, it's just...a rumor with no other form of sources.

I love how more people think Wally West is the better character, yet think Barry should get an origin movie. Lets not do another run of the mill superhero origin movie, make this film stand out. Do a flick about the Flash Legacy and include Wally, Barry, and Jay. Basic plot outline. Wally West takes over the Flash mantle from the deceased Barry Allen, under the guidance of Jay Garrick.

With that plot, you get the most The Flash who has the most character depth and has been fleshed out the best, yet Barry Allen is still important to the story. And Jay Garrick is there and can provide The Flash Legacy aspect. It's a frigging win win all around. Whats great is, you can portray Barry Allen is this larger than life, perfect hero, and now Wally West has to follow that, the film can mirror the comics. That would make good cinema if done right, better cinema than yet another basic origin story. The Green Lantern storyline is complex enough that it needs to be shown from the start of it all, with Hal Jordan.

The movie can be called "The Flash: Legacy".

And in the sequel, you can go all GodFather Part 2, and show flashbacks of Barry Allen that mirror the present day Wally West, perhaps against the Rogues.
