Flash allows a lot of suspension of disbelief though

Realism is pretty much tossed out the window with The Flash. The mother****er can warp the space/time continuum when he runs at full force, so they may have to just work with it.

Warner wants to make their movies as realistics as the characters allows them to, don't they?
nobody said that, they back in aug with the robinov comments talked about going darker but most people took that to litteral and he probably didnt mean it like folks intreprated his comments to be. We dont even if/when flash/ww will ever get off the ground. And gl doesnt look like its going to a super realistic film with space and aliens and ships and all that.

He was bathed by several chemical compounds altered by the eletrical discharge of a lightning bold, and his organism got superaccelerated, allowing him to run in super-speed, among other things.

It's scientific.

Movie scientific.

I think of these sort of things as being able to be as realistic as possible if we actually lived in a time where extraterrestrials were commonplace.

I almost never consider anything like that to be "unrealistic" exactly.. I think the only people that would are people with no imagination.

I want to read the David Goyer script for this extremely badly!

The Script was about the Flash legacy and had both, Barry Allen and Wally West. The plot dealt with time travel and the villain was, apparently, Zoom. Goyer planned to explain Flash's power in a scientifical way, and even hired a MIT consultor to help him make everything more credible. He said Flash would do a lot more than just run fast and vibrate his molecules to become intangible.

If they thought it was "too dark", it was probably just right.

Do they WANT to make this a Flash version of the F4 garbage? :o

AWESOME! Sounds good except for having both characters in the same movie. I say they start off with Barry alone in the first one. Then Barry and Kid Flash in the second and at the end of the second, Barry is killed, so in the third Wally takes up the mantle. And Zoom is the perfect villain for a Flash film.

Oh and I agree with you, GW. Flash may be more of a comic relief type character on JLU, but Flash should be darker than those stupid ass F4 movies. And Goyer's script was probably fine, just WB is full of idiots.

Awesome new Barry Allen Flash: Rebirth image!!!

Man, I can't wait for this!!!!

Barry Allen FTW!!!

Also, DC Comics head honcho Dan Didio had this to say:
"Okay, time to set the story straight."

From the time I started working at DC, I had a plan — no, scratch that, a desire to bring back Hal Jordan and Barry Allen. To me, they were the definitive Green Lantern and Flash, and they helped bring forth a generation of heroes. More important, they were the base from which all other ring-bearers and speedsters would come. Nothing against Kyle or Wally, but you can't know who they are without knowing who Hal and Barry are first.

In bringing Hal back, I found a "partner in crime" in Geoff Johns (remember that name; it is important later). Geoff was an even bigger Hal fan than I was and had the same desire to bring him back. Following that desire, we formulated a plan, and following the plan came GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH. The success of Rebirth exceeded even our wildest expectations, so with Hal back and better than ever, we turned our attention to Barry.

Okay. Now, with Barry, things were a little more… complicated. His death was one of the more important events of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, not something to be changed on a whim or easily undone. But slowly, over the years, the walls of Crisis came tumbling down, first with the return of the true Supergirl and then with the return of the Multiverse. Yet Barry's death still held firm.

Confession time. I originally hoped to bring Barry back at the end of INFINITE CRISIS, but things didn't work out as planned. Still, we did plan on a change in Flashes, as to echo the original Crisis, so… enter Bart. Now, Bart was there to show the generational aspect of The Flash, but he was never going to be The Flash for long. Plans for his arrival and departure were worked out in conjunction with COUNTDOWN and the JLA / JSA crossover. And again, it looked like we'd paved a way for Barry, but again the timing wasn't quite right. It wasn't until we hit FINAL CRISIS that the stars would align themselves properly. Enter Geoff Johns (there, I told you he would be important later).

Just as he did with Hal, he wanted to do with Barry. A plan was made and a story set — a story that would encompass everything and everyone in Flash's history. Not just Barry, but Jay, Wally, Bart, Iris, Max… well, you get the idea. BARRY ALLEN, THE FLASH: REBIRTH is a celebration of everything that was, is and will be great about the character. We are building on the brilliant foundation and history of the Flashes while adding to the future.

Don't you love it when a plan (sort of) comes together?

To be continued…

So true and a big part of why Barry And Hal need to be Flash and GL in the movies for at least the first film. :)

I think they should focus on Barry and use guys like Captain Cold, Mirror Master, etc. for villains. The second film can use Gorilla Grodd, while introducing Wally and having him become the Kid Flash. All building towards part 3 where they can use Professor Zoom and possibly Barry sacrificing himself to save the world.

As for casting, I like Ryan Gosling for Barry.

Yeah! And Barry dying in the third film is great for Wally, it gives him more weight when we, the audience, can feel his pain having lived thru it, plus it will be great to have Barry already established as the Flash so the audience knows that Wally has big boots to fill. :D

Barry FTW! :D

thats a cool barry allen/flash pic and cool news about the upcoming comic. Yea i totally agree and like i said since hal is back and barry is goin to be back if flash does get off the ground within the next 1-3 yrs and all that they would want to be cashing in on these films with the comics and all that. Plus as i said before and others too with flash its much easier to start off with barry then lead into wally for sequel or what not. If they fear they might not get a sequel then throw wally in just its wally pre powers or he gets powers but they dont fully show up but leave hints to it or soemthing.
