Hopefully so, though i hope with johns since he is more a silver age fan of supes i hope if he is indeed invovled with the next superman film he will drop silver age stuff for more of the 80s/90s/modern stuff we fans want to see more.

Warner kicked him out, I'd say. :hehe:

I'm all for Stephen Sommers, Doug Liman, Brad Bird or even Timur Berkamotov (Spelling).

no to Stephen Sommers.

Though I liked The Mummy and GI Joe, in the end, they're just very childish movies. I want The Flash to treat the audience like intelligent people.

I would rather go with Brad Bird (good choice) or Edgar Wright.

Edgar Wright is alredy in Ant-Man. It's his baby.

With a good Script, Sommers would be good, I think. The Paris chase in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra was pure Flash.

I don't know what's going on with Ant-Man.

After Scott Pilgrim, I've heard that Edgar is gonna work on another comedy with 'his Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz hommies' so I think it could be stuck in Development Hell.

With Sommers, I don't hate the guy, but I don't trust him. And with The Flash, I would want it to be GOOD. Not questionably good, but actually good.

no Sommers please. Didnt like GI joe, DIdn't like The Mummy series. I enjoyed Van Helsing when I was in middle school its mediocre to me now.

Stephen Sommers is bascially a below average director for me. I wouldnt want to see him near any superhero film I actually want to see.

I like Edgar Wright, nvr seen hims direct straight up non comedy action so that would be interesting. I love Hot Fuzz & Shaun of The Dead and I cant wait for The World Ends and Scott Pilgrim vs the World. If AntMan falls through I wouldnt mind if DC scooped him up. Waste of talent having him direct an Ant Man film anyways IMO

I think Brad Bird is a good choice in spirit, but his work causes me to tread lightly considering he'd jump from animation to filmmaking.

If Edgar Wright is making anything he should do Plastic Man since his ability to balance pure humor with drama, scares, and action makes him perfect for it.

I hate Somers. The Mummy was good but I havent liked anything hes done since. Hes all style no substance. Sometimes that works, but for Flash it wont.

I'd do. It only needs a good Script.

And Ant-Man will probably be a part of Marvel Studios second movie branch, with Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Runaways, Iron Man 3 and others.

I believe he has that 'it' factor, so his translation would be somewhat seamless. I mean, if the dude who directed Jonah Hex turns out to be great, that proves that people with an animation background can make the jump. I mean, if he could do it well, I think a guy like Bird can do it better.

Jimmy Hayward is a filmmaker who's done animation. Brad Bird is an animator who's done feature length cartoons. I think its considerably different.

what about Andrew Stanton, who did Wall E. I'm not too sure if he's from a film background or animation bg but he's making the live action John Carter of Mars.

I like Brad Bird's writing alot
but would be real skeptical of him doing live action just because Ive nvr seen him do it before. Its not really something you can predict if it'll be good or bad I think

I like him though so it's cool

I havent seen anything of John Carter of Mars the movie could end up being crap or gold cant really judge him on live action yet I think

well, it's always a risk.

Some people (depending on their background) can have a great start, that wil lead them to an excellent body of work. Chris Nolan studied English when he was in college and look at him now. Marc Webb's first film was 500 days of Summer and that was excellent. Same thing can be applied to Duncan Jones (Moon), or Neill Bloomkamp (District 9) to their first movies.

Then you have guys like David Goyer, who has WORKED WITH SOME OF THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS, who can't even direct a decent film.

what about the guy who was gonna do the silver surfer film and ssaid he wants to do a comics film, Alex Proyas I think his name is? What about him? :)

Alex "The Crow/Dark City" Proyas?

He could do a good job, though I didn't like I, Robot or Knowing.

Ive seen I, Robot and Knowing. Hated Knowing, loved I Robot his best films seem to be the ones he doesnt write so since he most likely wont be writing it that would be good. Im 50/50 on him

Considerably less when you have seen what they can do.

What are these movies? Filmmaker's original projects which they use to showcase what they can do. You think Bloomkemps name would come up for Halo without District 9 or Nolan for Batman without Memento and Insomnia.

Then you have guys like David Goyer, who has WORKED WITH SOME OF THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS, who can't even direct a decent film.

Which is why people dont suggest him. Cause they know what they can do.

Im really liking the idea of Edgar Wright for Flash. I wish they could make it happen. F*** Ant-Man.

I gotta rewatch Hot Fuzz soon

Big 'meh' to Edgar Wright.

Robert Zemeckis
Steven Spielberg
Michael Bay (yeah... I went there!)
Ron Howard
Matthew Vaughn
Danny Boyle

These are all the directors I would love to take on a Flash movie.

Brad Bird? Now there's an idea.
