Basically the stuff we see in the flick that pays respect to the fans regarding past stories, running gags, or phrases from the show/comics/action figures. Can't really do much until Friday, but an example would be the Eiffel Tower destruction that took place in an earlier Joe story is in full effect here, the use of "and knowing is half the battle" in the movie at some point, etc.

one of the Joe's grabs ripcord hand and makes him wince and he says "you have a kung fu grip", the line "knowing is half the battle" is spoken by General Hawk. there are other small ones scattered throughout the movie.

Also In tat scene Ripcord makes reference to the "realistic hair" of PRe ARAH Joes...
On the Underwater battle Heavy Duty yells YO! JOE!!

The helmet that pops up on Ripcord's head when he ejects from the bad guy jet kinda looked like Wild Weasel's helmet.

I did like in the one flashback that they kept with the comics/tv show backstory and had Storm Shadow murder their sensei when he was a child.

umm... have you read the comic?

with Ninja's not all is as it's seen. In the comics Storm shadow was not the Killer. I don't know what he movie verse is going to do with that story though

There was a female asian Joe testing the invisibility suit.
Jinx?

Jinx?

That's what I was thinking too.

One homage I was thankful that they did not do is this particular battle cry:

Worst 'Cobra' yell ever.

That's Serpentor's "cool" Cobra battle cry... Who I hope will never appear on the movies... no need for a COBRA~LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA!! on second thought... One Serpentor cameo might be good...
I was hoping for a
COBRA!!! RETREAT! RETREAT!!
Why am I even putting this on Spoiler tags?

I came here to post that lol.

I really do think it is Jinx. Same slim build and same hair style. And the invisibility suit with the hood looks alot like her costume.

The one I loved the most, which may be the most subtle, is the balloons flying up in the air when they are on there way to attack the Eiffel Tower (which is also an Easter Egg).

Right away, when I saw those balloons, I thought of the opening to GI JOE The Movie.

Did anyone else notice that?

The balloons were a nice touch. I also like when Ripcord was in the NightRaven, Scarlett calls him Ace (the original pilot of the Skystriker)

Total T-1000 homage for me when Snake Eyes starts chasing the truck in Paris :hehe:

Yep I was thinking the same thing, you only see it for a second but it does look a LOT like Weasel's helmet.
