If you're getting a tat of the character, I'd go with something in black and white since colors tend to blur and fade. It's also a good idea to get something with an uncluttered design to prevent smudging. Here's a pic that would work:

Just wanted to let everybody know that I finally got around to spellchecking my Female-Gambit fanfic and post it in the Gambit fanfic challenge thread. Links in mah sig and I hope you peeps enjoy both stories.

I wouldn't say that. In MC, his Gambit was just wallpaper; cable already had plans to save himself, the badguys already had access to the diaries when he destroyed them, and it was Mystique who offed sinister and revived Rogue. You could take Gambit out of the equation entirely and it wouldn't have changed the story a bit.

In Legacy, all he did was make card puns and get beat up. He got taken out by mooks twice and had to have his stupid ass saved by Shaw three times.

Factor in all the times gambit has been beaten up, tricked, and verbally b*tchslapped and it's well into Milligan levels of crap.



Oh yes it does. The second Gambit gets back from limbo following the utter destruction of his character, carey has him pining at Rogue's bedside, bowing and scraping for how horrible a person he is, and for three issues literally every line Gambit had(a grand total of three BTW) was about Rogue. Of course at the end of MC we see Rogue tell Gambit to **** and GTFO.

I swear, the dude hates Gambit or something.



A few. Claremont has a strong tendency to let his male characters turn into losers while the women become uber-lesbian-warrior-goddesses-of-indomitable-will-and-strength.

I'm curious. Since i'm also not a big Romy fan, how would you write Gambit's interactions with Rogue. Actually, how would you write Gambit period. I know you definitely have your own view on the character.

I'd have him walk away from it all. A person can only beat their head against a wall for so long before they realize it doesn't work. I'd have him try and keep it amicable, but Rogue would naturally carry a grudge about it. Girls like her always do.

Actually, how would you write Gambit period. I know you definitely have your own view on the character.

I'd draw heavily from Nicieza's run on x-men and Gambit solo as well as the Claremont/Lee years. I see Gambit as someone who grew up under bad circumstances and became a pretty shady guy because. He will do some pretty bad things if he has to, but he's not a malicious person. Nico Belic, from GTA4, is a lot like what I see a well-written Gambit being like.

I agree with that. I think Gambit does bad things if he feels he has to but that's only to survive. That's why i don't like to see him as a villain, like in X-men Evo. Even though i did like the character i don't think he's a villain at heart. He's not a clean cut, goody 2 shoes hero either. Gambit is the guy in the middle who just wants to get by.

i already have that black and white pic of ed benes, i thought for a while about getting that salvador larroca but i seen it on someone already. i wanted a larroca gambit for the longest time but i couldnt find a one that i wanted with the following, gambit with his trench coat visible, his playing cards in his hands and his bo staff as well. those are his trademarks so i want something that has those

Anyone read anything by Fraction alone, or know anything he said about the cajun?

Fraction wrote the Sensational Spider-man Annual issue that happened before OMD kicked in. It's a story that focuses on Peter/MJ and one of the best "stand alone" issues I've ever read. If that issue is any indication of his quality of work, then the X-universe is in good hands.

He also did most of the work on his and bru';s Iron Fist run, which was very well received, he did the Order, another good book, and Punisher's War Journal.

Has anyone heard anything about Gambit popping up anywhere within in the coming months?

I'm starting to think we can go back to chiseling that character gravestone.

I wouldn't go that far just yet. Joe Q confirmed his future in Legacy next year. Fraction has said something about wanting to use him, and CC will probably bring him into the next arc of GeNext.

Eh. After watching him disappear for a year leading into MC, come back and get hosed, and then disappear again...

No faith for a Legacy comeback. That's like not appearing at all. He's a wallflower.

Fraction, I'll believe when I see. And I remember reading that if he did pop up over there, it'd be after Legacy. So that's even farther down the road.

And I feel like even if he does pop up in GeNext, he'll only get torn up by Claremont. The character's son has adopted Mystique's last name for a reason, and we all know that while Claremont had a soft spot for Gambit, he loved them female characters more.
