And I agree. What can I say? I'm a huge Romy fan although it is nice to see him do something by himself once in a while if ya know what I mean, lol!![]()

But he would enjoy a good sparring session I imagine.
t:Please, I have to ask... What do you like about Romy? What part of Romy has been so intriguing the last decade that you're distraught it's on hiatus again?
Really, maybe I'm missing something. Because it's been a travesty and has thoroughly ruined my favorite comic book character.
It isn't the fault of the couple. Rogue and Gambit are just drawings on a piece of paper. It is the fault of the writers. When you look at each characters' backstory and personality, they actually make a great couple. They should be an excellent pair - and they were for a while - but they have not been competently written in years. Breaking them up is not going to solve the problem. They will just suck separately instead of together. They just need writers who understand the characters.Rogue/Gambit were only interesting in the early 90s. They havent been at all this past decade as their stories have tended to stink. The pairing brings both characters down. Gambit tends to suffer the most from it though bc he's not treated as his own character; he's more of an accessory to Rogue. They arent two equals in this pairing at all

Also, while Carey treats Gambit as Rogue's accessory, it is arguable that there was a time when the opposite was happening. Look back at Rogue's first miniseries. It was pretty much all about Gambit! I really think this is a case of the grass always being greener on the other side.
and with that said the best thing for Gambit is to not be paired up with her. He has suffered quite a bit of damage and needs some focus on himself as a character before being one half of a couple. Who is Gambit? What makes him tick? What is his personality and flaws? Anyone can tell me about what he was back in the 90s but who is he today? We dont really know bc its been a long time since he's gotten any decent characterization. He's either holding Rogue's hand or just there. Id love to see some writing for Gambit be about Gambit. Maybe some time in the future, he might be able to work with Gambit but as of right now, he's not going to grow and move on if they continue to tie him down with her. He desperately needs to spread outIt isn't the fault of the couple. Rogue and Gambit are just drawings on a piece of paper. It is the fault of the writers. She doesnt need any device. Rogue has control over her powers so not being able to touch Gambit really isnt an issue anymoreThey do, and that's exactly what i find boring. I wanna see Gambit with a girl who's completely the opposite of him. Also, i don't get why they still struggle as a couple. Rogue can easily get some device from Forge or something that cancels out her powers and Gambit has proven time and time again that he CAN be trusted.
Don't get me wrong, Rogue is definitely in my top 5 X-men list but she needs to stay away from Gambit.
Oh, Squeek. You hate Romy! They did get along in X-treme. Very well. It's when they were brought back to the X-men that things got messed up again. If depowering were the simple solution, they would have gotten along better in Extreme when they were both depowered at the same time. It didn't happen. Rogue has trust issues and I think she would be a poor girlfriend for just about any guy, nice or not. Remy's paid his dues, it didnt' work out, let them be done so we can all move on.
This is completely preposterous.let me tell you this imange if there was no romy would there be gambit even.I remeber from an interview the gambit was created ONLY to be killed off but romy saved him so pay a little respect pleaae.
