But from a box office standpoint it doesnt make sense because most of the general public know nuts about Gambit. He may be awesome, but every X-men is awesome to someone somewhere....

Most people do know Gambit actually as much as the other X characters, most people remember him from the animated series. He was also in the last x-movie. I'd also argue to say that he is one of the top X-men fan wise and people who saw the last Wolverine movie know exactly who he is know.

Same thing could have been said about Iron Man and Blade until their movies came out... The thing that Gambit has going for him, compared to other comic book characters, is that he appeals to the ladies as well as the guys. I mean, just look who regularly posts on these boards!!!!! That's a big demographic movie-wise (Twilight, anyone?).

What Storm/Gambit thing?

The Storm/Gambit one shot. I picked it up today. Bachalo's art is really sloppy, i can't tell what the hell is going on in those panels.

A Gambit movie is never going to happen. And i don't mind, as long as they include him in a team movie or Wolverine 2. I think Gambit is at his best when he's with the X-men .

That is such bulls**t. Gambit is best on his own. In a team he's just another team member, he can't waltz to his own tune. And when he does he gets scolded by prettyboy. He has to walk on a leash and that's one thing he is not comfortable with. No, Gambit is definitely best on his own, with the occasional 'side-kick'.

I know it's weird coming from me, but I think that would be so hilarious. To be honest though, I would rather he get killed off and be resurrected by someone who loves and understands his character than have him around doing nothing like he is now.

That was my biggest beef with it. The art is really bad imo.

I think Gambit is just as good on his own as he is with the team. Still, I would prefer to see a 4th X-men movie with Gambit in it. Besides, if he appears prominently in a team movie that might give him more of an audience to go solo.

Having Gambit with the X-men offers the chance to show different sides to his character. Obviously there's the flirtation with Rogue. But also his relationship with Storm, the "rivalry" with Wolverine, the other X-men not trusting him and him proving them wrong and him clashing with Cyclops because he has a different moral code. I find that more interesting than the typical Gambit stealing stuff and wooing some random chick story. And no that's not bull****, it's my opinion.

Not to mention... Gambit solo can be fun for awhile, but in the long term... he's just a petty womanizing thief without the X-Men. They're the group of people that brought out the hero/anti-hero in him.

I feel like our boy's time is coming... Or at the very least his future looks brighter now than it has at any other time in the last 5 or so years.

Things look a little brighter this time around... Seems like there are writers who actually WANT to use him... Unlike the last time we were close to a resurgence (Messiah Complex) when it seemed like writers were shoe horning him in against their will.

Yup. And Wolvy too.. of course. Worse yet, when you read the intro panel, it says Storm went to get Drac's body, like Gambit hadn't been there at all, and she did it all by her onsies.

The other day it was revealed that Gambit was not the "new man without Fear", as it was revealed as the Black Panther T'challa
