It's funny, but I'm pretty apathetic about Gambit's return. The closer we've gotten to the release of #200, the less I seem to care. Gambit has been written VERY badly for about 10 years now, ever since his return from Antarctica. It's hard to get enthusiasm going when you're expecting only more of the same.

I wasn't that hyped to begin with.

I'm telling ya, I do believe Carey's doing a good job. But for the love of God, him *loving* the characters that much doesn't mean he's that good. Hell, you know what, *loving* characters doesn't necessarily means *getting* them.

Anyway... yeah, sure, odds are the crossover will be a pretty big deal. Solid (well, I'm assuming) themes and plot don't necessarily translate in a glorious execution, though.

My biggest worry about what Carey writes will be Gambit's meeting with Rogue. Chances are, the chewing out Cyclops got (despite being right) will look like small potatoes compared to what Remy's getting.


Makes me glad I'm only staying around for issue 200.

If Gambit's motives for going to Apocolypse were supposedly honerable, why would he then get chewed out? I mean, I didn't see anyone chewing out Polaris or anything.

Nope. She was comforting her after Rogue had a bad dream about hurting Logan.

I guess I did the right thing to stop tracking Rogue, she has already dropped from my category of 'fav female character' to 'like', don't know what will happen if I follow up adjectiveless.

Probably. I've recently gone back and re-read a lot of the older comics since Gambit's been kicked out of the books and the more I read of her, the less I liked her.

Rogue in X-men is the best writing she's had in years. It made me an instant fan after not really caring much for her before
