I think he was over compensating for the scraggly, unshaven freak he drew the last time. :p I'll have to see if I can dig the old pic out so you can compare....

That's the thing... AoA Gambit was a totally different character. In AoA he essentially played a world worn team leader. He wasn't supposed to look like a movie star...

Looking at the rest of the comic, he's MUCH better than that one panel shows. Bachalo did alright.

Here it is. Ugly Gambit from AoA that Bachalo drew....

I'll take the new stuff, thanks. :p

^^^^Gambit looks sweeeet! Whats his buisness in 200?

He attacked Cable for some unknown reason, wanting to use Cable's computer for something he didn't say. :)

From Cable/Deadpool 42 which had a very limited recap of the Cable/Gambit fight:

You're not missing much if you didn't pick this up.

Forgot about which thread we were in :p I thought this was the X-men thread.

It's easy to get them confused since we are pretty much talking about the same things. :)

Love the description of him. "Former thief. Fomer member of the X-Men. Former Horseman of Apocalypse. Current butthole." :D

Yeah, I love my Cajun, but I still got a giggle out of that. :p

Works for me! :D *drools*

Whoa! Gambit went back to the 80's and got himself a haircut? :yay: Other than that he looks good. I like the preview of his fight with Cable:
"Never mind homme, i'll show you a card trick instead"
"Not going to happen, Gambit"
"Well, i said it was a trick Cable"

Typical, i love it. The smirk on his face and him tricking Cable. I am so picking up this issue.

Gambit looks awesome. I'm going to have to run to my shop to pick up #200.

the trick is that
while Gambit is distracting him, Sunfire is behind Cable and gives him a heavy tan. poor poor Cable...

You should. so far it's been worth the wait. Don't bother with the Cable/Deadpool if you aren't already reading that title, you don't learn anything new in it. :)

So does anyone think that the "One minute before Dawn" thing means anything? Or is it just Gambit being Gambit and pestering Cable?

Nop Im guessing it means something. And that it was conected to something that Cables computer had knowledge about.

I hate Gambit for what he did in X-men 200 and thought he was such a bastard but boy did I love this bad ass version of him. IMO, he works SOOOO much better this way. I hope Carey keeps him like this. He's alot more itneresting as a villian than he ever was as a hero for me

Well it's horribly unlikely that he'll stay as a villain. They said by the end of the crossover that he'll "be in a place that he's never been before" but also NOT in limbo of any kind.

So I'm assuming that means he'll be back in the books on a regular basis, meaning he'll be an X-Man once more.

But Gambit doesn't have to stop being a bad-ass... It's how they portrayed him way back when (AKA pre 1995 or so). He can be that way and still be a hero...

I find it interesting that Gambit so far has had no direct contact with the Marauders and one of the later covers showcasing them has Gambit conspicuously absent. Are we so sure that Gambit is leading them? Right now it looks like he has his own agenda.

Gambit wasn't leading them anyway. Him and Sunfire seem to be doing their own thing, but the connection with Sinister hasn't been explained, or revealed yet.

Well, he's not leading them...

Mystique is. Remember that the preview for 200 said the Marauders would get a familiar face as their leader... And Mystique stepped up in 200.

I think it's more likely that Sunfire and Gambit are working for Sinister, but are independent from the Marauders. I'm sure they'll bang heads with a few more X-Men eventually, I think.

And yes, it is interesting that Gambit's not on the cover of 203. I brought that up as soon as I saw the cover...

Two villains reportedly return to the X-Ranks you know... But I can't see Gambit doing so until at least mid-way through "Messiah Complex"
