Because he has the greatest ideas, especially concerning Gambit.

I mean, first there's the fact that he intended him to be a imaginary person thought up by some kid. Good lord that would have sucked, especially if he went with the supposed ending would have come true.

Then, there's the Sinister + Cyclops = Gambit reveal from The End.

Probably because he's done the most work in the X-franchise, hasn't he? Writing-wise, I mean.

Well, you know, SHE CAN SHEWT TEH 1337 FIERBALZZZZ!!!!!!!111!1!11

I mean, if she shot white fire instead of regular fire, Outcry would probably love her and call her the female Goku. And strive to draw her with spikey hair someday.

I'm sorry, Outcry. I love you, man. But that was payback for calling me a tool. :woot:

well, you're still a tool..or a right bastard...take your pick...and Goku ROCKS by the way.....much more than Theresa aka female not as cool as Banshee. i hate her about as much as Kitty pryde

and yes...here I am. curiosity got the better of me.

The ONLY way Rogue would "hand him his ass" is with Ms Marvel powers. Without those, forget it.

Rogue still doesn't have her Ms Marvel powers? Rogue with fire powers is so lame.

Rogue hasn't had her Ms. Marvel powers in years, and I have no problem with it staying that way. I'm not too thrilled by the fire powers, but I see no reason to go back to the Ms. Marvel powerset.

I saw no reason for her to permanently gain fire powers. She already had powers that were not hers.

That's a change. Most Rogue fans complain that she hasn't changed powers in years...

Not realizing that most X-Men have had their powers since their creation, which was over 40 years ago in some cases.

Yeah, but a mutant being a one-trick pony power-wise is WRRROOOOONNNGGG.

Didn't you get the memo? :D

I'm not saying fire powers was an excellent choice, but I certainly don't mind a Rogue that either uses all the powers she's absorbed over the years, or one who is pretty much dependant on her absorbing powers. Lot of people forgot that was her main power with all of the strength and flying around.

So much for the Remy/ Rogue break up.

At least emmymae will be happy...

Wow, beautiful cover.

Decided to pick up this storyline of X-men dealing with Gambit's return cause I'm a huge fan of his character. Still a bit lost at times with whats going on cause some of the characters are completely new to me, being that I haven't bought an issue of X-men before this storyline in years. Anyway, the storyline has still been a blast though. Can't wait for that issue. Gambit and Rouge are easily still one of comics most endearing and exciting relationships.

What does everyone think is gonna happen to Gambit once this event is over... do we expect him to re-join the ranks of the X-men (especially since in C&D it was hinted his accent sounded forced leaving an opening for someone controlling him perhaps or something else)... or do we expect him to remain a villian or be killed/added back to limbo for a while??

How about Cyke (and Rach & Havok if they come back) to beat him within an inch of his life?

I like Gambit, but, really, it's madness to even suppose the Cable thingy would be forgiven that fast.

Why does Gambit deserve less forgiveness than anyone else? I don't get it. Polaris as Pestilence was not only forgiven right away, but re-instated on a team. Not quite fair if you ask me.

Polaris didnt kill Cyclops son. Polaris didnt kill an X-man. Polaris as Pestilence was on a similiar level as Gambit as Death, but he doesnt seem to have his Death persona anymore. I guess we will have to wait and see what is truly up with him and where his head is at but as of now, no Gambit should not be forgiven. He's effectively made himself an enemy and Cyclops more than anyone needs to kick his ass. Im all for Rachel coming back and unleashing some hell on him too and of course Sam

Well, it took Sunfire all of two seconds before he bragged about the Cable thing.

Lets hope Gambits not THAT stupid.

I'm not convinced that killing Cable was part of the plan. Cable set the self destruct to keep them from the computer. It's more like manslaughter than murder.

Yeah, no body, no dead. I don't think he died either.

Yeah, like above, Gambit didn't kill Cable. Cable killed himself in an attempt to safeguard stuff and take Gambit and Sunfire along for the ride. They just happened to vamoose before that happened.

Sunfire bragged because... well, he's Sunfire. I mean, c'mon, Gambit has more self-control and tact than that.

Carey will more than likely bring Cable back at some point or other, I'm sure. Gambit gave him a hint to what's going on, and Carey mentioned in an interview that we'd be seeing more of that line in the future. And since he won't be remaining a villain, or so we all suspect, I think it's pretty obvious that he'll be working as a bad guy while simultaneously messing with them in some way, shape, or form all along.

I dont think Cable is dead either but the way it is being written as of now, for all intents and purposes he's dead and thats what the characters are going on.

Then again, at this rate, he might not even actually meet the rest of the X Men for a while.

Ugh. Gambit/Rogue. Blech.

And I was just starting to actually like the guy...I give them 5 issues before one of them does something stupid (probably Gambit) and they get pissed at one another.

Does that even make sense?
They haven't met yet, they're most likely going to be technically enemies when they do meet. Um. Yeah.
