Why do people assume that Gambit and Rogue are reuniting? Covers can be deceiving. They have been since comics were created and arent necesarily indicative of whats inside

How about Cyke (and Rach & Havok if they come back) to beat him within an inch of his life? I like Gambit, but, really, it's madness to even suppose the Cable thingy would be forgiven that fast.

Well since everything that lead up to it is Scott and Nathan's fault, with Scoot OK'ing Mystique joining the team after she tried to wreck Gambit's life life twice within the last few weeks and against his best advice, Nathan ressurecting Apocalypse, and the X-men recovering Polaris after her brainwashing and not Gambit(especially since he wasn't a bit lucid AND was being directed by a guy who was a psycho *BEFORE* getting brainwashed), they don't really have a right to start casting blame.

Ugh. Gambit/Rogue. Blech.

And I was just starting to actually like the guy...I give them 5 issues before one of them does something stupid (probably Gambit) and they get pissed at one another.

My hopes for a decent comeback for Gambit died when I saw that cover.

Because a single look at the cover shows that Marvel knows fully that it can spin a sappy love story with them and rake in the money.

well I wont jump to any conclusions till the issue actually comes out. I dont see the sappy reunion happening here. It just doesnt work for where either character is in their point in life at the moment

How is that different from where they were in Antarctica? Or in X-Treme where they lived happily? Or any of the other times they broke up and came back together? Romy is a freakin' albatross!

ROMY has been done to death and needs to die. Time for them both to move on.

Like it or not Gambit and Rogue have a history together. They are a part of each other's lives. Now Romy shippers can be pretty adamant about them staying together, but so can the people who DON'T want them together.

Havok83 has a point. It is JUST a cover and covers are meant to do what exactly? ATTRACT people and convince them to BUY the said comic. As such they need to be as stand-out-ish as possible.

Assuming Gambit's return to the X-world from limbo will implicate Rogue in some way is the most natural thing in the world to consider since they were in a relationship before the disaster that was Apocalypse's return. Assuming they will get back together because of a cover is leaping to conclusions. We don't know. We don't even know Gambit's motivation right now.

Oh, and GAMBIT + ROGUE 4EVAAAAAA OMGZZZ

...Gambit sucks.

Ah c'mon, you're overreacting.

Gambit and Rogue HAVE TO HAVE their little mini-reunion. Otherwise we could never actually move Gambit's plot along. I mean, I know you hate Romy, but the two characters have to hash it out. They were together for 15 years (real world wise)!

You can't just expect Gambit to come back, try to kil Rogue, and totally change his personality all in two or three issues.

So, is anyone else thinking that Gambit won't meet the rest of the X Men until the crossover?

I think that'll be the case, and even then, for most of the crossover, he'll be doing his own thing sort of.

That certainly seems to be where they're heading...

They've said he's going to play quite a large role, though, which makes me happy.

I'm still thinking he ditches Sinister about 1/2-3/4 of the way through the crossover, goes rogue (no pun intended...) and returns to the X-ranks by the very end.

That's the scenario I am hoping for as well. :) I want my Cajun back in a regular book.

Gotta agree with the betrayal part and returning with the good guys, eh.

Here's hoping there'll at least be a talk with Cyke, too.

Scott: Welcome back, Remy. Oh, we need to talk, by the way. Something about my dead son, why you..."

Remy: I *knew* that was gonna come up.

Maybe Gambit can go with the "My powers..." excuse that others (;)) use to get out of tight spots.

I'm pretty sure he can BS something about the Kinetic energy screwing with his brain.

Of course, the Horseman copout is always there. Sinister might have brainwashed him as well. Plus the skrulls. He's got tons of options.

If he's good enough, he could use a combination of all 3. Brainwashed horseman skrulls?

The SKRULLS in combination with the other two?? ROTFLMAO.

Scott: So, all in all, brainwashing would be your defense.

Remy: That's right.

Scott: You do know I wasn't even going to...

Remy: And the Skrulls!!! Them too!!!

Scott: ...actually murder you. Wait, why the hell would we even be having this conversation had it been an actual Skrull...??

Remy: Oh. Damn, This one of those 'back to square one slash foot in mouth' scenarios, isn't it?

Scott: *glares*

Funny, but regarding the whole blaming other people thingy, I think you're confusing Gumbo with Rogue. :D

Very true...

Using that track record, we'd have to assume that Gambit will henceforth blame himself for every little thing that all the villains do in the upcoming crossover. Historically he has always taken the blame for his partner's wrongdoing and faults.

Of course.

You just know he's gonna take the guilt for everything.

And regarding him having a talk with Cyke about Cable, I'd love to see Scott's reaction to the knowledge that in the past Gambit has stolen his uniform (complete with Visor) because it "might come in handy sometime".

Ha. It'd be a great toss in during a "Messiah Complex" book. Scott (who apparently unites the X-Men) dealing with all the **** going down, suddenly realizes his uniforms are missing. Just one of those last straw comedy deals. :woot:
