No offense (ever) meant, but that'd be the stupidest ****ing retcon. And if that's a viable plan in your eyes, then I'm glad you don't write comics.

1: No, BND is the stupidest retcon. *Shakes fist* Quesadaaaaa!

2: It was more hyperbole than anything else.

You assume Marvel would print a mini dedicated to "solving the mystery" of the origin of a second-tier, at best, character.Don't get me wrong. I <3 Gambit, but he is and has been, at best, second-tier.

You've got things wrong. Gambit's had the most popular solo run of any of the x-men, aside from Logan. As far as mini's go, he's far from the least likely candidate.

Sound, more or less. I'd argue or ask about some, but eh.

Then by all means, go ahead and ask away.

1. Your hyperbole is weak, sir!

2. I don't have things wrong. He has been a second-tier character, regardless of solo status. And just because he's had a strong solo run, they were nonetheless canceled or discontinued or whatever you'd like to call it. Previous strong showings need not necessarily mean anything. There's no given it would be printed.

Well, my kung fu is stronger than yours!

Second-tier or no(it's the editors i tell ya, they hate him!), he is still very popular. as a matter of fact, during the polls Wizard magazine took, he turned out to be the most requested X-man for the movies three times(a poll was done before each film).

And you didn't challenge me on the third one? I'm dissappointed.

I didn't care to. They're minor things, anyway.

And going the route of a mini would be meaningless and stupid, honestly. Aren't you one of the ones who grouches because Wolverine is everywhere? Isn't it horrible that Wolverine gets minis here and there? Why would you even need a mini?

Just do it as an arc in the ongoing. Have a pair!

Please humor me.

The difference is that Wolverine has 5 other books he's in in addition to those mini's.

An ongoing? Weren't you just now complaining about unrealistic expectations? I'm a big Gambit fan and not even I have ambitions of that.

I must quote Frank Miller here! "Are you dense or something? What are you, ******ed?" :woot:

The ongoing you'd be writing, dorkus. In which you would miraculously save Gambit's characterization and separate him from Rogue, and whatever else. THAT ongoing. Call it Adjectiveless, Uncanny, or whatever. Assuming you'd be writing it.

Who the hell do you think I am?

I can't just devote an entire story arc to tinkering with a pet character of mine. That would be stupid, unprofessional, an act of blatant favoritism, and *catches site of a Legacy ad*

....Nevermind.

It really wouldn't, actually. If the character is featured in the book before, then the arc works to further that character's character arc throughout your run on the title.

The way you make it relevent is either by working it as flashbacks to current happenings in the book, or by having parts of the past come back to play importance in the present of the book.

Either way it's done, it's more useful, intelligent, and interesting than another mini. And even if it's done as a mini would be done, that is, simply the story, it still contributes to the character arc, and it saves readers some money.

There is no lose to the situation here.

So I could retell Gambit's origin and justify it by also writing a Gambit-centric story-arc. SOLD!

You'd think with the hoard of Gambit fanfics out there (including my own), the dude could hold his own ongoing quite nicely of they had the right team (Nincienza/ Skcroce was awesome). There are more fics with Gambit out there than with Wolverine, I'd wager. If not it's pretty darn close. I'm guessing that there are so many fics because we fans aren't getting enough from Marvel on our guy. :)

Apparently you need to get a better idea of what is and is not sarcasm. :oldrazz:

Considering I had just convinced him that was the thing to do, there's no sense in being sarcastic about it.

I gotta say... still don't get WTF is the x-office's angle on this book.

It's basically The Search For Chuck's Mind/Sanity/Whatever

With Roguey and Gambit. WTF, LOL????

I don't want either of them to die. They are my top 2 favorite characters. Gambit first. I don't mind if they aren't together though.

perhaps not Gambit...perhaps..but Rogue needs to die...violently...

Uh... don't you think your a little too harsh on Rogue, OutcryX?? Rogue doesn't need to die, but i do have to say that why hasn't she ever tried to kill her self??? she always talks about how unhappy she is and nothing ever seems to go her way. If i was her i'd be totally depressed.

The man is already dead in the Ultimate Universe and gets nothing but shat on in 616...Killing him off would just be an even bigger slap in the face to Gambit fans.

Well, if all Gambit fans, or even the majority, are like our dearest CanCan...
