I may get some flack for this, but I think the whole 'Gambit as a Horseman' had potential. It's just too bad that the whole story was a complete mess.

This is a little off topic, but I wish Gambit had more interaction with other Marvel characters. I've always pictured a story arc featuring the Ragin Cajun traveling the United States and interacting with different people. I guess you could say that it's a twisted version of On the Road.

That would be cool. There were some interesting guest appearences in his first ongoing including Daredevil and Bullseye. I thought that was great. :)

He definitely needs more interaction with other characters. I don't remember it exactly but there's an issue of a X-men/FF cross over where a couple of characters are playing poker. And then Wolverine says his team mate is coming over to play too. Naturally i thought to myself Gambit was gonna come and own them all. Turns out it was Angel  Angel started flirting with some girl. That should have been Gambit damnit!

I'd like to see gambit and Tony Stark picking up chicks together. I'd read that.

From Old Man Logan (and therfore not exactly canon):

Granted I not happy that Gambit is dead, but maybe I should take comfort in the fact that he at least made it back on the team. :p

Did Logan do that? Please tell me they did just let Logan kill the entire X-men at once. Any one of those people could have taken him out solo(except maybe jubilee, but no one would care if she got killed).

Logan was under a delusion by Mysterio. he thought he was killing bad guys. :(

They were drunk. Thats they only explanation that makes sense. The x-men had just come back from a kegger, barely able to stand, and got trashed by the little yellow blur none of them could make out.

Hahaha. I would accept that. :o So know Wolverine is able to take on the entire X-men team on his own? What is he? The Beyonder?

Well, if Logan was tricked into doing it, the others might have been under a spell as well, enough to incapacitate. The purpose of the exercise was to be gone of the X-men at the expense of Logan's sanity. The experience broke him so badly that he vowed never to pop claws again. So the bad guys won in more than one way.

That sounds awesome.

And I think Horseman Gambit is getting railed against just because of the fact that it *did* have potential, but it missed the boat. Again. Like they've seemed to do every time Gambit's shown his face recently.

Wolverine = Just Violent = getting old.

I know! Wolverine is my favorite X-Man, and I love a bunch of his solo stuff, but they're drifting too far off base. The reason I love him is because of the contradiction he's always been--noble samurai and a tameless beast. He's a fighter, he's reckless, he's prideful to a fault, but he's smart at the same time.

Do I sound too old if I say how much I miss the old Patch days in Madripoor?

Maybe this is the wrong thread to rant about this in. . . :woot:<heads over to the Wolverine thread>

Yeah. Story had a hard hit, that was for sure. :( Definitely one of the better Wolverine arcs we've seen in a while.

Wow, that it indeed looks gruesome. Some nice touches of missing limbs. I can't actually wait to read that issue now.

I thought that whole story arc following the Decimation had huge potential, but unfortunately fell short. And Gambit looked hot being all Death

Since it is almost a What If? kind of stroy, you'd have to read the whole arc, not just the one issue. The arc isn't finished, I think it has 2 more pieces to go.

Don't fret Squeeks, I get just about every X-Men title there is, but after seeing that picture I really want to know how it all went down, and so can't wait for the delivery to reach Australia and my local comic shop. Here I was thinking that it was the villains giving him the thrashing of a lifetime, with horrors visited upon the other heroes. Must say I have been enjoying the read. An interesting turn of events.

It's the best Wolverine arc I've read in a while, I'd have to say. Old Man Logan ahs been terrific. I was just happy to see the Gambit cameo there since my favorite Cajun has been pretty scarce these days.

That's true it has been a great read so far. I like how they aged him and brought in the carnage (something I find depressingly lacking in 616). I would like see Top Cow do some X-Men stuff as they're more for 'older' readers and include the gore and glory. Marvel's readership is all over the place, so they can't really do that without limiting titles to specific age groups, which I know they do, but hopefully you get what I mean.

Hopefully once Legacy wraps up, we'll have our Ragin' Cajun back to his suave staff swinging self. In the meantime I'll content myself with the tatt's of him I have.

X-Force is good, I agree. :) One of my faves.

4 bad ass characters and Silver Fox. I'm so excited about Gambit and Deapool in this movie. It's funny, about and a year and a half ago i thought i would never see either of them in a X-men movie. I think i'm gonna cry tears of joy when i actually see this film. Gambit is my favorite fictional character ever.

I don't get why they put an uncut diamond on the staff instead of a polished one. The only thing a gem like that is going to do is slice up your hand.

His staff is a little too flashy for me, hope they don't show it too much in the movie.

It's not much compared to Wolverine or Deadpool, but given his recent popularity, Gambit has a very busy month coming up in April:
