yeah. as shows like Stranger Things prove, quality exclusive content sells. Which is why MS/Xbox needs a strong lineup of quality exclusive franchises.

Theoretically, if Gamepass really takes off, MS could just go the way of Netflix and become platform neutral, meaning Gamepass is on other consoles and devices. That's my fear, and I hope it doesn't turn out that way, because Xbox still has a hardware history associated with it.

Or, they could use the success of Gamepass to sell Xbox consoles by making Gamepass an exclusive Xbox feature. If you want to enjoy all the benefits and exclusive content first, you need Gamepass - only on Xbox. That's what they need to market.

I don't see how it could work on for eg a PS5. A lot of the games are still 3rd party so why would Sony want someone putting a service on their console that takes away something from what they could be getting themselves. Gamepass works when there is tonnes of exclusive content or when it is a service provided by the console owner itself. Netflix isn't a service that is appearing on for eg a device dedicated to Amazon Prime or Disney Plus like Gamepass on a PlayStation would be. Sony would already have access to all the 3rd party games and wouldn't want someone else controlling access to those.

Sony also has PS Now, which competes with Gamepass, even though Gamepass offers much more value.

However, I heard Sony is finally letting EA Access on the PS, so there's that.

I know they want pc incorporated and see Switch as a different type of product. I think they see Sony as their only comparable rival. I want them to keep making XBoxes long term and use these studios and more to start competing on the exclusive front to make Gamepass almost an obligation for serious gamers, and an unbeatable value proposition for casuals.

nice. I heard Horde mode will be revealed during Inside Xbox show on Monday, while the campaign/story will be shown during the actual Gamescom event.

yes and not looking good rumor is you will only be able to play as 5 specific hero with different abilities
if you played the tech test you seen the mechanic already I'm on the gears forums and people are not happy me included that escape reveal was tepid at best and i'm being generous with that to make horde similar to that and judgment and game mind you that drove a lot of people away from gears is problematic

Oh and I'll be available Saturday briefly the UFC HW fight is on Saturday so I'll be gone by 8

so I'll be on from 5 - 8 to check if you guys are out there

so has anyone here participated in the Beta tests for this? if so, what's your impression so far?

I did both weekends and they trying to get that casual crowd which I understand fully but I'm from G1 and steep learning curve for gears is what attracted me to it so I'll be running in the old modes like TDM and KOTH and of course Horde the new modes they trotted out aren't for me but I wish them all the best on those new modes lol

They should have done better with the Escape reveal. Something is at fault, either the mode or the reveal of it. I do like that there will be a 3 player mode that you can jump into straightaway while waiting for your last couple of people to get ready.

Ok might be difficult to coordinate the timings with everyone. We could get that no deaths achievement out of the way for you and Scott if he's on, but I'm not sure if everyone will be ready on time. The sniper stuff probably won't start till at least 7pm your time though. Hope we get lucky with who can make it.

the teams are exited for the usual TDM, KOTH and escalation in VS you will be able to still run with any skin you may own but most are not pleased with not running with there preferred skin in Escape and Horde

but mostly everyone hates the inverse omen blocking your entire screen but if you listen to the youtube guys it's not a problem hey it wouldn't be a problem for me either if I got prelaunch access to the game along with a free copy lol

I don't like the lottery system,. If someone wants a skin they should be able to buy it or get it with a specific number of in game credits. Make the number high sure but take the chance out of it.

It's the standard black X console (there is a white console Fallout bundle, too). which is good, cuz I really wouldn't want a Fallout themed console. It just comes with a code for Fallout 76, which I have no interest in. But I got Madden 20 code for free as well, which I'm slightly more interested in.

Kind of wish the Fallout bundle also included Fallout 4, 3, and New Vegas codes, so it is kind of stingy with the extras. but, hey! it was $100 off so I'm not complaining too much.......lol.

and I already have Gamepass from before. think it's good until January.
