It's the standard black X console (there is a white console Fallout bundle, too). which is good, cuz I really wouldn't want a Fallout themed console. It just comes with a code for Fallout 76, which I have no interest in. But I got Madden 20 code for free as well, which I'm slightly more interested in.

Kind of wish the Fallout bundle also included Fallout 4, 3, and New Vegas codes, so it is kind of stingy with the extras. but, hey! it was $100 off so I'm not complaining too much.......lol.

and I already have Gamepass from before. think it's good until January.

Oh I thought you were just a huge Fallout fan and that was the reason you were getting this console haha.

I guess to keep this thread on Gears you have to now make sure you install Gears 5 when it releases!

haha. no, I got this bundle cuz it was the only X bundle that's $100 off ( due to Fallout 76 not selling well ). And, it seems to sell out fast and/or hard to find in stores anymore. so when I saw it available to order online, I just jumped at the opportunity. If the Division 2 bundle were $100 off, I would have got that instead.

and yeah, I might just give Gears 5 a try when it releases. I'll take advantage of Gamepass to start playing it right away. but wait till BF/Xmas to see if physical edition goes on sale if I want to buy it for my collection.

I just got back from seeing Avengers Endgame at my college ( free movie night ). And I saw it having not seen the prior Avengers or really the past 4 or 5 Marvel movies. So, I was a little lost, but I was able to get the gist of things and follow the story.

I don't mind watching/playing/reading things out of order, so I can probably enjoy Gears 5 having not gone through the story of the prior games.

Yeah, I’m like that with franchise’s I’ve missed. I like seeing something to see if I like it. If I do like it then I go and catch up on the ones I missed and fill in the gaps like a jigsaw. Even more so with film franchises as some entries are more easily available than others. Is Mortal Kombat still on there? I want to try that too.

Good plan. The campaigns of these games don't take long to complete, especially on easier difficulties, so it wouldn't take long to catch up. Multiplayer and coop modes are another story of course.

I was trying to work my way through Gears 1 - think I'm still on 2nd section of 1st chapter ( when you join that group to look for something ). The controls in Gears 1 are a bit different than most shooters of recent years, so that kind of throws me off a bit.

on Halo 1, think I completed the 1st mission and had just started the 2nd mission ( when Chief crash lands on the planet/Halo? ).

It looks great. I think I saw a Berserker in there! I want to see more of the enemies and their variety, bosses too. I don’t know why they don’t just throw everything in Gears history to that point in to each new Horde. I would also like some of the guys like Raam, Skorge and Locust Queen to appear.

it's got to be a $$ issue with the old studio I believe cause there is no excuse not to have all the enemies in the universe in Horde

Apart from all the old bosses I'd like Bloodmounts, Gunkers and Lambent Berserkers.

It feels like a step up from the Gears 4 story. Gears 4 set the scene and structure of this post Gears 3 universe, and now we are getting deeper into the more interesting material.
