I am pleasantly surprised that the special effects and pacing from the movie aren't the main problems that it suffers from.

The reviews are undeniably bad so far. :( Doesn't mean the film can't still be fun but certainly a blow for the DC Universe outside of Batman & Superman. Very frustrating as the thing I really want to see one day is JL and the Flash & WW films are not looking as likely at the moment. Still the box office might tell another story...X:FC didn't make a huge amount given how good the reviews were.

I cant believe every1 is giving so much credit to these reviews. I find many flaws in what they are saying that i think others would pick up on. In the end it doesnt matter if they like or even undertand the movie its if u like it. It seems like every one is already giving up on this movie when they have no idea what they are talking about. Just wait and see for yourselves before you spout off on it. Same goes for praising it but from what ive seen im looking forward to it

Good or bad, here in Mexico we will have to wait till mid-august.:csad::csad::csad: Apparently Warner is afraid that it bombs thanks to that stupid 2 hour commercial called Cars 2. So far the rest of the movies will be released in time, but I really wanted to see this one this weekend.

they should have just made a JL movie.

superman
batman
wonder woman
aquaman

to a lesser extent
flash

all known by the GA so there is no need to go down the marvel road of introducing the characters first. hopefully GL doesn't blow it for everyone else.

Very true, had the internet been around back when batman was released that movie would have been blasted and we may not have seen another batman film. I liked the review on badass digest, devin gave very good reasons why the film didnt work, but it didnt come off as the fanboy response that some reviews seem to have. It was always going to be tough with GL and I don't think they did themselves any favors with all the CG, but it may very well catch on with children. Ultimately I think at this point if they break even there still is hope but I think thats why it great to have good reviews so the movie has strong legs at the box office.

Look at it this way, if you download it you won't feel as guilty.

Well the reviews confirm what I thought the movie looked like from the trailers. It's too bad, because this was DC's one-shot to do with their stable what Marvel has done. It sounds like the script was written by a studio committee trying to ape the success of Raimi's Spider-Man and Favreau (or more precisely, Downey's) Iron Man and ended up with a safe, boring and mediocre toy commercial.

Though I haven't seen it, when a movie is below 30% on rottentomatoes, 19 times out of 20 it's probably not very good.

Oh well, Super 8 and XFC were excellent blockbusters and are still open.

If it doesnt make good money it will, the suits wont invest in something that they think wont pay of.

Everybody keeps saying this but I don't buy it. A GL flop might kill further GL movies but I don't see WB suddenly saying "No more supers movies other than Batman and Superman!"

If GL doesn't work, they'll try Flash or Hawkman. It might affect how they approach making the actual movies but they aren't going to rest in their pursuit of the next big franchise they can ****e out.

I thought watchman was visually stunning (bought the blu ray) but the pacing, acting (rosharach aside) and score absolutely terrible. I will say that I thought the first 20 mins were pitch perfect but the movie decends into an absolute mess. each to their own but I hated watchmen..

I'm a big fan of the comic, but when you take a graphic novel and use it point for point to pace a movie, it'll be an incredibly horribly paced film. And that's exactly what watchmen was.

The acting is horrible, and it's rife with embarassing moments, (mostly involving silk spectre and Nightowl.)

Same way I feel.

I still think GL is going to do well with kids and average movie goer.

That Onion video is getting more praise. :(

WB needs a new franchise. The only way The Flash doesn't get green lit is if this is a speed racer type bomb.

No but production will be slowed down on those properties.

The brakes are gonna be put on for sure. Anything outside Bats and Big Blue is immediately going to be re-looked at.

Way I see things if this flops any Superhero properties that isn’t Batman and Superman will be on hold until after the release of TDKR and MOS. Then WB will start the movement all over again.

What's more depressing is that Mr Popper's Penguins is getting better reviews.

X:FC was good. Super 8 was really a mediocre film and a huge disappointment considering the talent behind it. I'm not going to see GL in the theatre. maybe catch it on Netflix one day.
