You wanna be in denial knock yourself out.

I'd need to be heavily invested in this film in order to be in denial. It would have to be something I couldn't bear cope with.

Believe all you find on the internet, says a lot about you. :woot:

I wouldn't worry about NY magazines/papers, they give nearly everything bad reviews. To us NYers, they're worthless.

If he hadn't seen the movie and was making it up, how would he have known about the final fight, which he praised? He seemed to have a problem with the Hal Jordan character and the romance. But it wasn't a panning.

It's a negative review. Just get over it, doesn't really matter.

Reviews dont hold to much weight when it comes to a movies sucess. First Class got great reviews but it doesnt seem to many people are giving it a chance.
Also i believe they are pushing this with so much hype because they want people unfamiler with Gl to understand it and want to go see it. Us fans are the only ones over exposed to the trailers. The GA doesnt search for every clip and new tv spot they just see it in passing. So what seems like alot to us really isnt to every 1 else
The GA might not search for clips, but they cant avoid the nearly 20 TV Spots that have bombarding them lately.

They can when they don't have a t.v. with satellite or cable access!
Yay me.

I'm prepared for the negative reviews. There's a reason WB is enforcing the embargo this late. Pretty sad though that jmc has to be the board troll again, like he was with every other SH movie he doesn't approve of.

Many people are complaining that GL was supposed to be a Black guy, why did WB change that ?

Some are even declaring that they will not go and see the movie because of this issue.

Now, Whay can't somone fron DC Comics (Geoff Johns or Dan Dido) give a press statement that Hal is the first Human chosen to be GL member, and John Stewart (who is Black.) is the scond GL Corps member from Earth.

Are people really not seeing GL because he isn't black? That is ridiculous, right up there with people hating on Heimdall being black and I doubt even those people refused to see the film.

The lack of reviews is very telling. I'm sorry guys but I'm off of the GL train, I'm not expecting a good movie now.

I'll still probably see it but I'm expecting it to be mediocre or bad.

Actually he gave Thor 1.5 stars.

Overall metacritic and rt give a good overview of what to expect, I can't remember any great movie being panned critically because it was a genre film. Usually when something is under 50% it does turn out to be lackluster.

I can make my own mind up, but money can be tight, the movie going experience isn't cheap, I rather save my money if hundreds of critics are warning me it is bad, so long as they flesh out their reasoning.

I always judge a movie for myself when I watch it but the studio holding it back from critics means that they have no faith in it what-so-ever. Especially when the critics have been so nice to comicbook movies this year.

I don't think that Time Out review is as bad as people are making it sound.

The reviewer doesn't like the Earth scenes, the human drama, and wanted to see more of the GL action in space.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Earth stuff isn't as exciting, or the human drama element doesn't work as well. That could be something that needs to be worked on for a sequel, or we may be done with that and it goes straight into the space stuff with Sinestro and Carol/Star Sapphire the next time.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Carol Ferris character isn't very drawn out in the movie, and if Hector Hammond is considered too odd to those unfamiliar with the comics. As a fan, I'll probably enjoy those aspects more.

I am not expecting the drama to be as successful as what Nolan did with Batman, because he really took all that very seriously and focused on that. GL has a lot to do and certain aspects may be given short shrift.

But if you saw it had 10% on RT would you still go see it opening night or would you wait for a cheap matinee or a promotional Tuesday or wtv your local theatre does?

If it had 10% on Rotten Tomatoes and I read alot of the reviews to see what they said and they labled it a disaster I would be very leery of seeing the film.

Anyone else annoyed by the fanboy paranoia surrounding this film?

I was whole heartedly with this film until those mediocre clips and the lack of reviews.

Well that is reasonable enough.
I just feel that fans unjustly feel the need to blindly support movies based on their favourite characters, as if they owed it to the studio and themselves.
