Thor was deep and emotional?

Yeah, I'm just going to move on...

That review is um interesting. Don't really care for user reviews one way or the other on that site.

You've got to admit that review seems more professional and legitimate than the one the professional critic pulled out of his butt.

Thor had some drama with Thor's relationship with his father Odin and with Loki. I think GL's journey is a bit more straightforward than that.

@screenrant I said Thor wasn't worth seeing in 3D. ... But GL is worth seeing in 3D in my opinion.

Yeah, it was actually a well writen review and wasn't full of bland hyperbole one way or the other. Sometimes hyberbole is fine and needed but most of the time it's useless.

How is someone mant to take that review seriously with statements like this "Don't expect anything too deep like Peter Parker & Mary Jane or even, to an extent, Thor & Jane Foster". Anyone have any links to good reviews?

That's the point, there aren't reviews out there. That review is the only one out there that's gone into any kind of detail so far.

I actually liked the Peter Parker and MJ relationship in the first film but I'm not going to pretend that it was deep. As for Thor, yeah that wasn't the slightest bit deep.

I couldn't respond to all of the silly opinions in that review though so I decided to not go in to it.

It wasn't deep but hell if Nathalie Portman wasn't adorable and believable in how she gushed for Hemsworth, god I envied him, just the look she had... Probably not much acting involved actually.

Eh, I hated how much she gushed and was hoping she wouldn't just play Nat Portman in the film, which she did.

She wasn't bad or anything and their chemistry wasn't awful but that plot wasn't of any interest to me.

I'm not trying to be a Thor wet blanket but I can't help it as I just don't understand the extremely good will that the film is getting.

After Nic Cage/Eva Mendez anything is good for me.

I know im going to love the film. I just know it. I dont expect it to be deep. I'd save that for Superman, Batman or Spider-man. Or even X-men. Green Lantern? I just want it to be fun. GL was never a deep character in the comics, imo. Maybe when Coast City is destroyed and Hal Jordan turns evilI but that's about it. The fun of GL is in the mythology and sequels. For an origin movie, I Just want cool battles, a sense of responsibility, and space epic.

Personally I was always expecting a fun lighthearted movie in the vain of Iron Man and Star Trek and I have no problem with that. Hopefully it's as good as I found those films to be.

I never understood the criticism about "rooting for a character" unless I'm hating the movie I dont really thiink about not rooting for the character

should we count reviews that use JMC's manip to represent the movie?

Looks new to me and like a genuine review, oh well, we shall wait and see...
If your expectations are low enough you'll be bound to like it!

That Total Film review lost me when it tried to build up Thor as some really good peice of filmmaking.

I'd love to read a review that didn't mention that slightly above average movie in a ridiculously glowing light. I have no problem with anybody loving Thor and thinking that it's great but I will not listen to any GL reviews that claim that while praising or bashing the film. I can't and I won't.

yeah but most of the reviews seem to have more of a problem with the source material then the movie. Mostly all i read them picking at is the universe itself and not to much about the actual movie

Those folks just didn't like that kind of film.

Meh, the "relationships" in the Fantastic
Four movies (Reed/Sue, Thing/the blind girl) were far worse and completely unbelievable, especially from the bad acting the actresses gave.
