I thought Total Film was really friendly towards comicbook movies.
Maybe the movie didn't present the source material in the right way?
**** the critics. The concept is far from laughable. It is awesome.
I was skeptical from the start. Reynolds is not a very likeable guy and Lively is a weak actress, so that was offputing. The CGI doesn't look consistent either.
The few things that attracted me was Campbell and the composer. I think the score will be great though!
It's $12 a ticket. I think I'll wait until it is on TV.
we learn that The Universe is patrolled by a group of fearless, multi-species warriors called The Green Lantern Corpsand, yes, each member is issued an actual old-school camping lantern, which they use to recharge the clunky rings that allow them to harness the emerald energy of willpower to create what you see in your mind.
They seem to have a problem with the actual source material. So I'm relieved then.
I'm telling you, the perception of this movie will kill it more than the movie's actualy merits. it feels like people want to dislike this film
Do I have to write "In my opinion" in every sentence? Nowhere in that post did I say I was speaking for everyone. No offense, but to who isn't he likeable, you? You do realize other people in the world exist that like comedy movies and may actually enjoy his films. Just because fans on a message board don't like him doesn't mean squat.

I must say that I do hate the fact that they explain things before the movie starts. I've never liked that in films, I've just never liked it. I can easily get past it like I did with Hellboy if the film is good.
This was exactly what I meant before about interpreting the reviews.
I trust RT and Metacritic, but sometimes they rating will be off because critics can be obtuse.
Some explaining needed to be done to those who dont know the concept. It will probably be similar to the last trailer. That's not a bad thing at all to explain how the guardians did what they did with the energy, parallax and all.The idea really doesn't seem anymore out there than say Avatar which made a s**tload. Or Thor for that matter.
I will have to wait to see the movie before I say anything about it but maybe just maybe it wasn't presented the right way in those reviewers opinions.
