Unable to search through 456 pages in this thread, are there any pics of Hal Jordan WITHOUT the mask on?

Yeah...are there any pics like that lying around?
Maybe in the Green lantern boards. There is a thread called Favorite GL pictures or something, check it out. Maybe you will find your pic. Or you can check comicvine, they have a lot of pictures, I suppose you will find what you need.

The last issue of GL was really neat, and I loved the face-to-face between Sinestro and Carrol Ferris. Both know Jordan well, it was interesting to see their opinion about the subject. even if I would have done Carol a bit more powerful than that.
I do not like the idea of Carol being the Predator, pffff, I think she is like Sinestro or Hal Jordan, the main character in her corps, but not the avatar.

And speaking about avatar, I really enjoy Black Hand being the avatar of the black corps, I think it is brilliant and I hope, that he will stay like this after the BN. I think the character found his place, and just like there can be a parallax or an Ion quite always, I think he should remain like this. That would make an interesting villain in the GL gallery.

I really enjoyed Sinestro backhanding the **** out of Carol.

I enjoy 99% of what Sinestro does, even if it involves Abin's rear end. I'm really rooting for him in the war. Not just to be a touch guy rooting for the anarchist, but because I think he is right in all of this.

You mean tough guy? :oldrazz:

I can see that he's the one guy who saw the wrongness of the Guardians before anyone else did, but I can't imagine his actions being anything but out-of-control murderer. It's not even anarchism, it's outright conquest by killing people. Millions of people's mothers, fathers, children, and friends are dead because of his direct orders.

Do I think he's a pretty damned awesome villain and character, though? Sure.

Sinestro and Carol Ferris are both pretty unlikeable, I've found. This issue wasn't that great to me. Nice to see Kryb back in action and still evil and Larfleeze confronted with the reanimated corpses of his entire corps, though. Otherwise, it was all just, "these colors are fighting these colors while all the important stuff happens elsewhere." The War of Light's cool on paper, but I gotta say, it's kind of boring in practice. I'm much more interested with Scar and the Black Lanterns' endgame.

I didn't mind the issue, though it felt like it was moving too slow and too fast at the same time. Does that make any sense? Like just when it seemed like a scene should have a lot of impact, we went off to do something else. But then we spent too much time on something, even if it was important. I dunno.

I'll be completely honest, and maybe I've already beaten this point to death before: I feel about 99.99% predisposed against Carol because of that goddamn ****ing awful outfit alone. Every time I see it I cannot believe how ferociously DC is shooting themselves in both feet.

"We have a squadron of woman warriors, armed with the power of love contained in pretty crystalline jewelery, flying throughout the universe to protect lovers and repair broken hearts. Their backstory is fairly uncomplicated and, best of all, already closely tied to one of our biggest franchises. Imagine the potential audience we could reach with that concept! Maybe we will finally stop hemorrhaging sales to the unstoppable anime juggernaunslaught that has completely monopolized any hint of young female readership for the past decade!

"Okay, sweet. We've got an army of excellent artists at our disposal to design these characters however we want. What should they look like, hypothetical editor-in-chief?"

"They shall look like ****es, my hypothetical friend. They shall look like ****es."

I'm hyperbolizing a bit, considering there's really no indication anyone had any sort of interest in the Star Sapphires as a protagonists, much less any hint that DC had ever intended to portray them as franchise characters. But, by the gods, what were you hypothetical people thinking? And the hilarity reaches even further levels of facepalm when you consider that Carol already had her own classic costume. I almost feel sorry for Mahnke having to somehow make Reis' freakish monstrosity creation look heroic and dynamic instead of the visual sex crime that it actually is.

There's been a lot of other really good redesigns around the 'net, like this one (though that one's looking a bit villainess-y). Basically, anything looks loads better than what she has now. A drunken monkey with a paper towel could come up with something better.

Well, you know how hard is is for me to form an opinion. :o

Yeah. "Dude punches people a lot and is kind of a dick, but he could be cool. Whatever."

I lost interest in Hal when he lost the gray stripes. =(

Cause all I had to fall back on there was his character, and once that's all you got, I was like, "Well...F*** it. :cmad:" There wasn't anything there to like with much better GL's out there.

Nah, it's just in comparison to pretty much every other GL out there, Hal Jordan is just highly uninteresting, and pretty much undeserving of "OMG!! GRETEST LANTURN EVAR!!!"

I like him because that's the GL I grew up with and I'll be the first to admit his shortcomings...doesn't make me like him any less...

I actually only started reading GL when Rebirth started. So besides JLU Hall Jordan was my first exposure to the GL's. However I found myslef drawn to Kyle more. I don't hate Hal like most who think you have to pick one or the other, he is just not my favorite.

I get that Kyle is a lot more relatable to some of the fanbase with him being an "artist" and all and how a lot of the fandom consider themselves "artists" even though they just draw ****** superheroes while working 2nd shift at Wal-Mart

Most of us don't hate Hal, we just don't care for him. o.o

Or for the odd hero worship he gets from time to time.

Or the fact every time he shows up, writers force Kyle's "Well maybe I'm not quite as good as Hal..." hash up which was done too many times, just to make Hal look good. =/

Yea I could see that. Not me though. I can't draw for **** :csad:. I like the artist aspect of him because his constructs come out ****ing fantastic. That's the kind of stuff I would make if I had a power ring. Who wants to just make a boring old hammer or fist when you can make a giant green mech construct :hehe:

I like Kyle because he took what was a very Top Gun kind of character (Green Lantern) and it became about not someone who is Fearless but someone who has the shear Will of character to overcome odds. It wasn't that I feel like I'm Kyle Rayner but it's that I actually understand him. Since coming back to life, the depth of character Hal has been given is that he's kind of upset his Dad died, punches people hwo disagree with him and that he bagged Huntress and Lady Blackhawk.

Which upsets me more because when he was Spectre and giving Kyle advice on being a Lantern, or when he was time displaced and learnt about his future - I felt sorry for the guy, liked him and respected him. Now? Oh go away Hal.

Hal is very "it doesn't need to be fancy, it just needs to get the job done" and he always tends to acknowledge how Kyle is creative and stronger than a lot of people give him credit for
