This was a brilliant movie, and the fact that the movie didn't make any money is a testament to the fact that horror movie lovers are the most hypocritical of movie lovers imo, because they generally will flock to crap like the reaping but completely miss stuff like this. Not to grossly generalize or anything, it's just what I see.

This movie did 11 mill over four days max because people wnat big explosions and pretty colours...and no plot.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, however you look at it) ROdriguez and Tarantino have talent - unlike some people who direct big-budget explosion movies *coughTimStorycough*

*sigh*

It's only a flop if it makes under it's budget when it leaves the theatres.

It's ONLY BEEN FOUR DAYS!!!!!

Jesus Christ

damn i didnt think this would flop... want to see it, is it worth seeing in theatres or would it be just as good on dvd?

Well, granted I haven't seen it but it's probably a good idea to see it in the theatres as many people who have seen it are liking it and it is supposed to be a theatrical experience.

Disappointing, I'll give you that.

But as I said - and this goes for ANY movie:

A flop is a flop if the film being exhibited doesn't make it's budget back and leaves theatres "unfulfilled".
If it stays and makes money then it will keep on keeping on.

For instance, PotC 2 made, what, a bill at the box office at a budget of $127.5 million ($255 million for both sequels). That's a profit. Catwoman, on a budget of $100 million, made $80 million back. Now, that's a flop.

I have faith this film will make 50 million at least.

If Catwoman can do it so can this

Saw it a few days ago and loved it. I liked the slow burn of Death Proof more than I thought I would going in, but on the whole Planet Terror was still more entertaining. Those trailers, though... funniest things I have seen in years.

It's definitely more than worth seeing...it's god awesome indeed at parts, especially all the scenes with Michael Biehn.

excellent analysis ... i concur..DeathProof caught me off gaurd but it was good..but planet terror was off the heezy and the faux trailers:wow:

Over four days...der...?

i wouldnt count on sunday neing a day..it was easter..SUNDAY is HUGE day for movie ticket sales... this SUNDAY...nobody did nothing... i would count that as PART of the reason for the poor ticket sales...you guys are missing out if you dont go watch this..BRILLIANT MOVIE:word:

Sunday had the poorest sales. This was definitely disappointing, especially for the Weinsteins.

I enjoyed PT.

But DP let me down with the second part. The first part was just SO great. I was loving every minute of it. Then QT had to change it all around and F*** it up.

QT ruined it with his mouth for me. He was praising his film so much. I remember him saying it'd have the greatest car chase of all time and he called it a slasher flick. How the **** is this a slasher flick? Maybe if QT hadn't made people's expectations so high...

Alright - I'm generally not the Spoileriffic kinda person...

but does Mary-Elizabeth Winstead's character survive?

I'm asking for it and if I ask for it it'll be nice for an answer

I heard QT's movie sucked major balls, but RR's was great. I'm not suprised at all.

Sunday was Easter. I saw the film on Friday, but those expecting big money on Easter weekend for a hard R film just aren't thinking about such a matter.

well, her character has like 10 minutes of show... and is left behind before the chase with some redneck who thinks she is a porn star who will blow him for letting the other girls take out his 1972 440 Dodge Challenger
