Yes, Eli Roth directed, wrote, and had a cameo in is faux trailer Thanksgiving. It's funny that Eli's best work was a minute long fake trailer that was horribly spoofed edited horror film. In all seriousness, I really want to see Thanksgiving as an actual movie.

I'm sure it will be as stupid as cabin Fever or Hostel. Except with a killer Pilgrim.

Is there any sites where i can buy the Japenese R2 DVD Version of Grindhouse and also the full Kill Bill japanese R2 DVD??

Well I finally watched these movies a few days ago and while Planet Terror kicked all sorts of ass, Death Proof was a bit boring at times. It had entirely way too much talking and not enough action. I do however love it when Kurt Russell got owned at the end. I kept rewinding at that part.

Any word of the second coming out yet? I remember QT talking about doing a mandarin/dubbed kung fu flick and Rodriguez doing Machete

I don't see why that should stop them. Okay, so they'll have to cut back on the budgets, but these are supposed to be cheap-looking grindhouse films anyway, right?

I guess, but the studio is all about money, they just don't want another film that might fail again. They had their chance, seconds doesn't really come in Hollywood.

I finally got around to watching DEATHPROOF. Everyone told me how boring it is, but I really enjoyed it. So what if most of it is a bunch of girls sitting around talking, as long as the chemistry is there it works for me. The action bits were fantastic. It's exactly what a a Tarantino movie should be.
I just have to watch PLANET TERROR now, which I guess is much cooler.

Yeah. It's sad how much crap Deathproof takes. The long talks make the Stuntman Mike stuff more awesome. It was probably one of the best theater experiences I ever had when they finally caught up to him and he was screaming like a b----. Everyone was cheering in a small theater at capacity.

In a weird way. Tarantino actually made a cult film.

I loved when he was in the car after he got shot. He's got the booze, and he's just totally freaking out and screaming. Great stuff.

Death Proof is just the way those grindhouse films used to be: talky with just a few bursts of action.

That's not a complaint, btw. Some of us like our films to simmer.

When Grindhouse opened in theaters across the country on April 6th of 2007, it didn't fare too well at the box office. Some blamed the film's length, and when it arrived on DVD and Blu-ray, it was released as two separate films: Death Proof [2 Discs] [Special Edition] [Extended and Unrated] and Planet Terror [2 Discs] [Special Edition] [Extended and Unrated]. Absent from these releases were the faux-trailers that ran during the film's intended intermission.

If we're to believe a new Twitter update from Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World director Edgar Wright, the release of Grindhouse in its uncut form, with all of the faux-trailers, scratches, and blemishes intact, including Wright's own hilarious trailer for the thriller Don't, could be coming very shortly. Giving this short hint, here's what the director told his fans:

"So, get this, tomorrow I am doing a commentary on 'Don't'. Some of you will know what that means is finally happening."

My problem with Death Proof is that every single one of the women were unbelievably annoying, especially the first group Stuntman Mike hunted. Especially Jungle Julia. :cmad: The dialogue is just so effing annoying, it's not that there's too much of it, it just comes across as too cool for school even by Tarantino's standards. It's just really unlikeable and you can't help but say "God will you just ****, I hope Stuntman Mike kills you because you're so effing annoying."

I agree bigtime. Jungle Julia was a total ***** and you're right about the dialogue being "too cool for school" beyond what Tarantino normally does.

Great news that it's coming to Blu-ray as a double feature with the trailers.

Supporting cast from Death Proof tried to be like the cast from Pulp Fiction humor wise but it did not work especially the black women trying to act like Samuel L. Jackson.

This is what I wanted. The full experience on one disk with a couple of disks worth of special features because that's what Grindhouse was to me, an experience. Something that transported to you to a different time and place when movies didn't take themselves too seriously.
