The Official Hellboy 3 thread

Bit devastated that HB3 wont be his next movie, but I can understand why considering HB2 was his last movie, I just hope he makes it as soon as possibly as Ron Perlman isnt want to be going to play Hellboy into his late 60's/early 70's and who could blame him.

70's would be pushing it, but in the next couple of years if Hellboy 3 is a go and del Toro is at the helm. Perlman will do it.

yea, I wouldn't worry about Pearlman passing just because he's in his 60's. Plenty of celebrities that age are still acting

look at Stallone, dude is in the same boat and he's had Rocky, Rambo and now Expendables all within the last decade

I hope it's soon. Liz Sherman's the only superheroine who knows how to work a dark jacket and long pants.

I want Hellboy III....now.....NOW.

I'd say Liz will be pregnant for most of the film, and since Del Toro said that Liz will feel pain in a possible 3rd film, I'm guessing that giving birth to a possible antichrist would most likely kill her. I mean c'mon, I doubt Hellboy himself was spawned from the womb of a human female. :cwink: It would have to have serious consequences for Liz's health.

On set during the last few days of HB2, GdT was passing out jackets that said "Hellboy 3 - not with me" ~ glad to see he's changed his mind.

I have heard Ron P. does not want to do the make-up again, but I guess GdT can talk him into it. I think Ron's 62 now, so I hope they do not wait too much longer!

^Well, the fact that GDT mentioned it in that interview gives me hope, and I remember during production of HB1 he kept mentioning he hopes to do a trilogy, so lets hope he gets to do it.

I just hope he doesnt get to the point were he feels another Hellboy movie is below him.

I'm going to assume you mean Hellboy II which is far superior to the first

the first was ok, nothing special, but the second one just blew it out the water

I love Hellboy 1 & 2. It is so quirky and the visuals are amazing and of course Ron Pearlman as Hellboy is amazing. I really, really hope Del Toro finishes the trilogy because I don't think we will be getting Hellboy again for a long, long, long time.

Agreed! Both Hellboy movies are two of my favorite comic book films, I did like the second more. But both films kinda remind of alot of the 80s fantasy films. Its a shame I haven't read the comics yet! :wow:

I wouldnt say the 2nd movie blew the first out of the water, the first was a superb movie that was a great adaptation of the comics and had a lot of heart and soul.

2 is the better movie but it doesnt make HB 1 redundant, far from it, both are absolute gems in all honesty.

The comics are superb, you should get yourself into them as they are great reads.

to tell you the truth, in all honesty I personally think its time for Del Torro to move forward with other projects. As much as I am a big fan of the first two Hellboy's (opening night both times), I would rather see Del Torro take his abilities to other ideas. Pans Labryinth showed his capabilities and I think there is much more to explore. The Hobbit would of been perfect for that but maybe its time for him to take aim at smaller projects.

If he does go back to Hellboy, good for him, I just rather see him take on new movies.

Well, it's going to have to wait. He finally got a studio to go ahead with At the Mountains of Madness, which has been a passion project of his for years.

Ideally, after Mountains I love him to do one of his smaller personal films, then make either Hellboy 3 or Frankenstein.

Personally, I hope he goes straight into HB3 after MOM, Ron isnt getting any younger and wont want to be doing a HB movie in his early 70's or thereabouts, and who could blame, I just hope to god this eventually gets made.

I definitely want another, but he has so many movies lined up before this. His deal with Unviersal has him working Drood, Mount of Madness, Dr. Jekyll & Hyde, Slaughterhouse, Frankenstein, and he's now working on Haunted Mansion and he's got two more novels to write as well.

I talked with Mike Mignola at the SDCC. While I was there, he was talking to a few other industry folks and one brought up this exact quote. He absolutely blew off even a notion that there is any talks of a HB3.

I am paraphrasing here but he said something to the effect of “Yeah Hellboy 3 would be great, just like the 25 other projects Del Toro is attached to.” He actually had a bit of venom behind his words.

It did not sound like a HB3 was even on the radar.

Huh, I think Mignola should be happy. He wanted to finish the comic before the third movie, and now he seems to have the time...

Need HBIII like I need air to breathe. :(

Well that doesnt sound promising, lets hope he was just being sarcastic or something, I really, REALLY hope it gets made.

Well Mike is right, Del Toro has way too much going on right now. It doesn't look like he will be getting to HBIII anytime soon with his schedule.
