Sequels The Official "How YOU would do Spider-Man 4" thread

I can't tell you all how I'm sick of people saying that 'Spider-Man' should be like 'The Dark Knight'. Well people, 'The Dark Knight' isn't the only great movie out there. There are tons that I'd say to look to when trying to express how to bring Spidey justice again, and I think I've found a perfect movie for 'Spider-Man'. 'The Dark Knight' is said to look to 'Heat' while making this film, well, in my opinion, Spidey needs to look to 'Glengarry Glen Ross' for feedback. Honestly, 'Glengarry Glen Ross' is my favourite Al Pacino movie to date(dead serious, I personally think it's better than 'The Godfather'). The story, the characters, the actors, the diologue, everything is intruging. When I watch this film, I think of The Daily Bugle, and how they can make The Bugle much more than a fun-house. The Bugle is the perfect place to set-up storylines, characters, etc. I just feel that they can do so much more with The Bugle than have Peter, Hoffman, Jameson, Robbie and Betty as the single-characters introduced inside. I don't include Eddie Brock because they failed with him in that catagory(above plenty others). First thing, if they want to re-model the current universe this way, I'd say name it: 'The Amazing Spider-Man ~ Chapter I', to let people know that it's not really a spin-off and it's not a real reboot. Just turning the franchise in another direction to make it great again. If I knew first hand that this would be what they're going for, I'd be anticipating this movie first-hand, as should the rest of us.

Well, keep it simple! Nothing over complicated, make the story be character driven, like in the first two films! Have one or two villains, make their connection logical! There shouldn't be too many coincidences, like in the third movie! And do not mess up the elements of previous films, just to make the story "intricate and well crafted" (SM3)! Sometimes the simplest things are the most effective! Now, characters should be interesting, keep away from stereotypes, give villains some depth even if they are just a thugs, (like Sandman in 3, must admit that it had its good sides)! Use classic Spidey stories, 616 continuity, resort to "ultimate" only if absolutely necessary, although some alterations just have to be made!

Now, speaking about the characters.... (This is how would I do some of Spidey villains, not necessary connected with SM4)

Scorpion... Use classic elements of his origin; it is a good classic SM story, with minor changes! JJJ hires a private investigator Mac Gargan to find out who Spidey is! JJJ also sponsors experiments of Dr Spencer Smythe (I know its Farley Stillwell Scorpion's "creator" in the comics) in field of robotics! So Smythe first builds Spider Slayer robot, (prototype of peace keeping unit for NY police, dubbed Spider Slayer by JJJ as his first assignment would be destruction of masked menace AKA Spider-Man), that gets defeated by Spidey, and then he uses Gargan as subject for "Better Spider-Slayer cyborg"! So, Scorpion is easy to connect to Smythe and Spider Slayers. Now, Gargan should be portrayed as sleazy, yet tough man, whose primary thing is money! He should be smart, effective and very persistent! He is a selfish man! He likes living large, but he has never been rich! So basically he sold his humanity for couple of million of dollars! After a Scorpion treatment he becomes aware of what he had done to himself, but, of course, blames JJJ and Spidey, goes psychotic and kills Smythe in his rampage!

Shocker.... Spidey movies are all about choice! Well what if Herman Shultz never had any choice! His family was poor people, trash of society, alcoholic abusive father, bunch of siblings, so he always had to fight for his own and he become tough and kind of ruthless! He has a talent for machines, so IF he was raised by, say, Ben and May, he could have become engineer or a rocket scientist! He goes bad, (not actually had a chance to become good anyway), starts robbing banks! Spidey foils several of "big robberies", finally putting Shultz behind bars! Now, having talent for machines (he is not super smart) he builds his shock units in prison (one of his buddies helped him smuggle parts he needed, Morris Bench could be used here as a cameo), busts out of prison (maybe also setting free some other villain in process)! Fed up with the course of his life he decides to take a chance and try to score big time! Calling himself The Shocker, he destroys a couple banks, gets cash, becomes greedy, and starts to wreak havoc in the city! Spidey shows up, and then it's the time for good old revenge..... The Shocker dies at the end, when his shock units explode, (also destroying money in the process)! He dies a bad guy, no "I'm sorry" at the end, no appeal to his good side! Btw, the Shocker and the Sandman would be a great movie team up!

I'd like to see them bring in more characters that we know to become villains. 'Spider-Man' introduced Dr. Connors, 'Spider-Man 2' introduced The New Goblin(Harry Osborn), 'Spider-Man 3' made reference to someone also in prison with Marko who he confessed his guilt to(I can only see it being Vulture, if it happens to be Kletus Cassidy... no thank you). 'Spider-Man 4', I'd like to see a cliffhanger ending that leads straight into the next film(which is said to be what they're going for with releasing the two films back-to-back basically). Personally, I always had the image of a giant(hollogram) of Mysterio standing over the city. Peter's just sitting with Mary Jane and then suddenly comes Mysterio's hollogram through the open door leading to the balcony. This has been a haunting image in my head for quite sometime now, and it would be astounding to actually see it on the big-screen.

You all seem to have all the answers. Come on now, you all can't be right. So here's what we're going to do...

What the hell is your problem today, 'Visionary'? Honestly, you're acting like an idiot today.

I need to be apart of the filmmaking process of Spider-Man 4. I trust no one else with this character. Now, what are you going to do to help me?

I don't care who the hell he is. Doesn't matter to me, if he's acting this way, he means nothing to me. Just sounds like a sad ol' fanboy crying over the character not being at his fullest, well I guarentee you that if 'Visionary' directed or even wrote the script, the film wouldn't be perfect either, and if that's what he's crying about. Sorry about your luck, that's life, get used to it.

At this point...I don't even think I can trust Marvel with Spider-Man, they seem to hate Spidey for some reason, and they own the damn Copyrights and Trademarks to the character, unfortunately. I seriously don't think Marvel care what anyone does to him. For they are only holding on to him for his money making abilities.

I need a good place where I can go and cry like a six year old girl from Peru. Do you now know why I cry? :csad:

Does this statement come in English?

I think Lizard and Kraven could actually work together storywise, maybe the first time Spidey meets up with the Lizard he gets beat down like in Spectacular Spider-Man, and then Kraven is flown in. Then when Kraven is almost killed, Spidey decides not to hold back, and knocks him out before sticking him with the cure. I'd love if they ripped from the end fight of Spec Spidey, where Peter tricks the Lizard into the polar bear area of the zoo, so as to slow him down. A meat locker would work fine, as well.

does ur mom come in english?

Wow

Anyway, Visionary needs a hug...And Sony needs to come out with one hell of a movie. And that means, it needs a TIGHT script.

Of course, what else could my very misleading statement possibly mean? :cwink:

Villains: KRAVEN THE HUNTER, DOCTOR OCTOPUS...and one other. Read to find out. :cwink:

I would develop the Peter-Connors dynamic a bit. In a lab setting they would be studying the remains of the symbiote just to give us some closure on that. Meanwhile Aunt May begins seeing a new man and Peter tries to mend his relationship with Mary Jane. Sadly she just doesn't fell safe around him. She acknowledges that he is different from her, stronger and deep down she's not sure if he's truly human. For the first time she considers what his exposure to the genetically altered spider has yet to to do Parker. She doesn't like the possibilities. We get a scene where Spider-Man is webslinging and reflecting on Mary Jane's reluctance toward their wedding when he sees something below. He lands on the sidewalk and sees a furry pinned up in an alleyway with a letter pinned to the mask. Spidey inspects the letter which says "THE HUNT IS ON PARKER!"

Suddenly his Spider-Sense goes off and he ducks as a blade whizzes by his head. From the shadows steps KRAVEN THE HUNTER, wearing the pelt of some jungle beast. He effortlessly matches Spider-Man's punches and even lands a hit. He leaves Spider-Man immobilized by a poison dart in the alley. Eventually when the poison wears off he returns to his apartment and crashes on the couch. Just then the phone goes off; May is taking Peter and Mary Jane out to dinner with her and her new friend. That night we meet May's "new friend", an elderly gentleman in a wheelchair. As May is talking about Peter and Mary Jane's wedding, the body of a decapitated furry hits the glass of the restaurant window. Peter sense Kraven outside watching them. He excuses himself and suits up.

Outside he asks Kraven just what it is he wants. Kraven tells him that one of New York's most brilliant minds gave him access to the world's fiercest hunters: a crateful of Utah Velociraptor eggs. He just has to bring Spider-Man in alive. They fight and Spider-Man beats Kraven and Kraven is arrested. More Peter-Mary Jane fluff. The next day at college Gwen tells Peter that her father was badly wounded in a mass prison breakout. Spider-Man pays Captain Stacy a visit and learns that it was MONSTER that broke out Kraven. We find Kraven in an old warehouse near a large machine which hatches the Utah Velociraptor eggs. The MYSTERIOUS DOCTOR asks Kraven what he intends to do with his new toys. The Hunter smiles and tells him he's going to become an hero to the entire city.

Finally we find Mary Jane contemplating leaving New York for California. SHe's got the ticket and is still apprehensive about marrying Peter. That's when Aunt May arrives out front in a car and asks Mary Jane if she needs help picking out a wedding dress. She says she still has the one she was gonna marry John in. Aunt May asks her to come outside; she can tell something is wrong. Mary Jane tells Aunt May about her apprehensions, including that Peter is Spider-Man. Aunt May tells Mary Jane that she knew that already. They arrive at May's house. Inside May leads Mary Jane to the kitchen where her new friend is sitting with a cup of coffee and cake. He tells May to bring Peter as well. He ought to be there for the "talk." When May leaves the old man sets aside his newspaper and says "Remember me?" and grins; black tendrils of symbiote drip from beneath his eyes like tears. Mary Jane jumps up and tries to run, but a mechanical tentacle causes the door to cave in, trapping Mary Jane in the kitchen.

Peter meanwhile follows a SPIDER-TRACER he planted on Kraven. It leads him to a large building where he finds Kraven entereing via a the sewers. He follows him and engages one of the Utah Velociraptors in combat. Spider-Man impales it on a pipe and follows Kraven into the building. He confronts him in the bathroom and manages to smash all the toilets so the Raptors can't get in. They have a large fight that spills out into the CONVENTION CENTER right in the middle of Anthro-Con. Spider-Man tells the furries that Kraven is responsible for the murder of their fellow furries. Spider-Man disarms them and leaves as the furries begin yiffing Kraven to death. Outside he finds Aunt May waiting. She tells him that Mary Jane is waiting for him at her apartment. As they drive off, we see a series of reptillian/saurian forms entereing the CONVENTION CENTER through the front doors.

Back at the apartment Spider-Man quickly unblocks the collapsed doorway and finds Mary Jane tied to the ceiling fan, hanging from a noose of BLACK WEBBING. Spider-Man runs to her and cuts her down. Suddenly a form throws itself at Spider-Man. He sees it is AUNT MAY, with some BLACK SUBSTANCE dripping from her mouth. He throws her off and binds her with webbing. He does the same for Mary Jane who is leaking BLACK SUBSTANCE from her eyes. Suddenly a dark form crashes through the ceiling....OTTO OCTAVIOUS! He tells Spider-Man that a piece of the symbiote found him beneath the waves and reanimated him. He is now Dr. Venopuss! They fight and Spider-Man manages to kill him by kicking him through the street and into the sewers where the Utah Velociraptors procede to tear him to shreds.

As Peter Parker, he rushes the symbiote zombie Aunt May and Mary Jane to Doctor Connors...but he isn't there and the lab is totally demolished. He puts zombie Aunt May and zombie Mary Jane into a locker and locks it, and reinforces it with webbing. He leaves a letter on there cautioning others against opening it and signs it "COURTESY YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN." Afterward in the wreckage he finds a set of TRACKS.

With that he swings off into the night following the saurian tracks from the lab.

END.
