The Official "I'm Not Excited About This Movie At All" Thread

I'm not really excited for Tron anymore. The negative buzz since the footage at Comic Con screened has been pretty bunk.

All of this "LOL Facebook movie" talk about Social Network is getting really old. The movie is going to be ****ing great. Deal with it.

Devin Farci (love him or hate him) said on form spring (I have to find it) that Tron Legacy was in trouble a few months ago, and that was due to the lead actor.

That's why they brought in the Pixar guys and David Fincher in May to check out the movie and they gave out notes. In fact, for the reshoots, I think Brad Bird wrote the new scenes.

The new scenes will involve more of Olivia Wilde's character thus giving her more scenes to balance out Garrett.

I kid you not.

But they filmed all of the new scenes this summer, which is plenty of time to 'fix' the problems with Tron Legacy. If it works out, it'll be like the movie never had any issues at all by the release.

The Social Network
Wall Street II
Due Date (wanted to like it)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Whatever is going to get nominated for Oscars next year

That doesn't sound like a complete cluster**** to you? If Pixar, Bird, and Fincher completely reworked the entire film, what is the real director even there for?

All I heard was that some of the dialouge is bad. The footage seemed fine to me

And I for one cannot spot out bad dialogue unless its Star Wars level bad

Olivia Wilde is actually the biggest factor in my interest for this movie. :o

To be fair, even Devin said that it's enough time and talent (Pixar, Fincher) to fix the problems.

Someone else asked for a more extensive answer but I can't find it. I think he deleted it because his 'extensive answer' was fairly detailed.

hard to believe hedlund is awful i have liked him in everything lol

Troy
Four Brothers
Death Sentence

Tron (It's been way too long and I just can't be bothered to care about a sequel to a movie that I saw maybe once as a child.)

Due Date (Didn't Look That Funny, which is disappointing considering it's two leads.)

The Thing Prequel (It feels altogether unnecessary. I might give it a rental once it hits Blu Ray.)

Saw 3-D (I gave up on these after Saw II, they came to be about gore and not plot despite what gore fan boys would tell you.)

Yeah, I'm not interested in The Social Network for a few reasons.

1. I hate Jesse Eisenberg. I'm not completely opposed to actors who play the same character in everything, but if I hate the character you always play, then I don't like you.

2. I hate Timberlake. So far, he's only starred in movies that I don't particularly care about, but every time he is cast in something it takes us one step closer to the day when some idiot director casts him in in film based off one of my favorite books, comics, etc. I dread that day.

3. It might not actually be about Facebook, but it's still about Facebook. And I hate Facebook. I don't care if the a**holes who put the whole thing together screwed each other over, nor does it surprise me that they did. For *****ebags, by *****ebags. That should be the Facebook motto.

On the other hand, it does have David Fincher.... and the great Trent Reznor did the music. But I still can't bring myself to want to see it.
I'm interested in The Social Network because it's one of the only movies I know of about the "millenial" generation (or so the early reviews say), and that interests me. But I too have some reservations about the fact that it's about Facebook. I think Facebook has screwed over its initial college audience in several ways, and that almost makes me not want to support the movie, but it's not like Facebook's going to shut down if The Social Network doesn't make good money.

-I didn't even know they were making that until just now. Yeah, The Thing isn't a movie I really need to see a prequel to.
-I was never interested in those.

This. I have a feeling it's gonna be great, but we'll see. I don't want to jump to conclusions yet.

And Tron got negative buzz? I didn't know about this.

Well, I think to be fair, not many would be defending The Social Network if not for the director. Like, seriously, I bet almost everyone posting in here about this would be either saying the same stuff or nothing at all if anyone else was behind the camera.

Of course, that is a very good reason for defending interest in the film, so...

Saw 3D. Just not much of a Saw fan.

The Social Network. I don't even hardly use or care about Facebook.

Probably lots of people will go see The Social Network, but it will fade away quickly.
Like the Davinci code. Big when it came out, but now meh

Paranormal Activity 2, the first one was balls, sorry, it takes more than a couple of doors shutting to scare me. I've seen scarier videos on youtube.

Saw 15 or whatever they're at.

The Social Network, I'll wait for Google the movie or Twitter the motion picture.

This. I had no doubt that Fincher wasn't going to make a good film. I wouldn't had been interested in film if a mediocre director or an unknown director was helming it.

Plus not only is Fincher directing, but Aaron Sorkin (an SU alum :yay:) is the screenwriter, so its not like this film wasn't in safe hands.

But like the other posters said, this has nothing to do directly with facebook. If anything, facebook is the backdrop of the film.

I honestly feel as though people are over-exaggerating about this film. Its getting great reviews, and great buzz. I don't really care what a film's about as long as its good but that's me.

Why the hell is everyone attacking "Due Date" for saying it doesn't look funny?
HELLO, MCFLY! ANYBODY HOME? IT'S A COMEDY! THEY'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING BY NOT PUTTING THE REALLY FUNNY PARTS IN THE TRAILER!

lol @ all the hate for The Social Network. Ignorance at its finest.

Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

I'm sorry, but since I've seen the trailers, I'm getting a very bad feeling that Fox is going to ROYALY **** this up.:csad:

I'm amazed by how some of you are convinced that The Social Network is going to be "great." And you know this how? Unless you've actually seen the movie, then it could turn out to be completely awful, no matter how good the trailer might be. Some reviews are in on RT, and while they are good ones, there are still only six.

Perhaps it will end up being great and those of us who doubt the film (or as the thread indicates, lack any real interest in it) for various reasons will have to eat our words. But until then, wait and see. There have been plenty of films that looked great in the previews and turned out to be crap.
