Don't like the "supernatural" powers like most of you but this film seems like it can be fun. Just sit back and relax and enjoy the film.

Oh and can't wait for the Megan Fox sex scene.

Looks cheesy bad. But in a good way if that makes sense. Definitely a rental. Malkovich looks like he is hamming it up big time.

malkovich = win

megan fox looks good... the western accent is hot

after all the waiting for the trailer it looks ok, wish they gave hex the eye though :(

its great to finally see a trailer for the film. its been long over due there. As for the trailer it looked pretty good. I dont know much on hex but i am curious to check out the film. Hopefully after all these months of rumors of issues the film itself will turn out to be ok. There was some nice story elements, and some great action too in the trailer. The visuals look good. So i cant wait to see it.

It looks average. I don't know much about Hex's story, but what I do know seems changed for the worse. If I see this, it'll either be a week after release or at Blockbusters.

hopefully it can do decent enough for wb/dc to be considered a hit, we dont need a huge BO if its a modest hit will probably be a sucess to wb.

That might be her best scene in the movie. :hehe:

Hex doesn't have the ability to talk to dead people... going by the script i read it's just folklore/rumours/wives tales.

He is a legend, a myth. Things get changed up when people talk about rumours and myths.

Overall the trailer looks pretty sweet. I like Brolin's little quirks and grunts and scowls.

That's right! I'm glad to see somebody else understands that. And the director himself confirmed that it's mythic legends rather than actual superpowers.
Director Jimmy Hayward explained that Jonah Hex himself may be larger than life, but more in the mythic sense than the actual superpowered one. "I think Jonah Hex, he's been shot so many times, the legend is he's got one foot in the grave and one foot here on Earth, and so we approach it by everybody else's version of who Jonah Hex is," Hayward continued. "At the beginning of the film, we bring out the John Albano (creator of the character and first Jonah Hex writer) quote, 'He's a hero to some, a villain to most, but where ever he goes, they speak his name in whispers.' So at the beginning of the film, he's a scarred bounty hunter, just a horrible guy, this murderous guy. You tear the layers off, you see that there's this normal guy in there."

I agree with some people that this movie looks like it could be cheesy fun. Of course I thought the same thing about GI Joe and that movie's fun factor turned out to be pretty low on a scale of 1 to 10. The main thing I like about the trailer is Brolin's performance. If he didn't play a convincing role as Jonah I'd have no interest in the film.

I'm not very knowledgeable about Jonah's comic book background but, the changes to source material didn't turn me off. Hopefully, there will at least be an explanation for how Jonah can talk to the dead.

yea he probably doesnt have the power, but the trailer did make it seem like he did.

This movie looks like hot garbage. Seriously, that trailer is makes this look about as good as Ghost Rider...meaning not good AT ALL! Megan Fox's performance looks like an instant Razzy winner, and shows she has absolutely no talent. They have to be paying Brolin and Malkovich well. No way this script convinced them to make this movie.

LOL. Oh, really? Just yesterday you said:

My summer is pretty much Iron Man 2, Robin Hood, Predators, Jonah Hex, Toy Story 3, and Inception. Though I will definitely be seeing Harry Potter when it comes out!

I am not that excited for the other films this year right now.

Read Ace of Knaves' post and my post above.

I read what both of you stated but, until I see an official confirmation from someone whose actually seen the film I will have the perception of Jonah being able to talk to the dead.

I saw the trailer for it about 10 minutes after I posted that, lol :csad:

I didn't even know a trailer was available for it yet, lol. But now that I've seen a trailer...man does this look bad :csad:

i didnt look that bad to me. and i dont know much on hex myself.

The first script was actually, very, very good. I mean reeeally good. The best script i've read in a while. Better than GL or Predators or anything from the last few years.

But, they might have butchered the first draft for all we know.

I've read the script... Hex doesn't have any powers whatsoever. Now unless they have changed that part of the script, which i highly, highly doubt, then no, he won't have any powers.

Hex is a myth to people in the West. A wives tale.

The script writers, Neveldine and Taylor, said about the final shooting script:

Taylor: It’s our script, with a lot of the naughty bits taken out.
http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/09/04/...t-for-america/

Neveldine: We wrote Jonah Hex and we had a blast with it. And I read the final shooting script and felt like there was about 85% of our script, and that was pretty cool. Some of the things that we lost, unfortunately, worked: some of the dialogue, and some bits. They went PG-13 instead of Rated-R; probably the best thing to do, I guess, for a movie that doesn’t have a big audience.

well i still hope the film will be decent enough, at least be a modest hit for wb. so other lower class dc guys could have a better shot in getting off the ground.
