Thus far it looks like a vast improvement over STREET FIGHTER Van Damme style, but I'm sitting it out before I further judge.

And damn it if she didn't look all grown up and hot. I'm really loving the short hair. Plus the outfits are upgraded too from what we are used to seeing her in at red carpet events.

Holy crap.

Exclusive! Kristen Kreuk Talks 'Smallville' and 'Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li'

Will you be popping up on Smallville anymore this season?

I will. I have four more episodes that will air starting January 15th.

Anything you can share with us?

Lana is coming back after being away for a long time. The audience gets to find out what happened to her, what occurred during that time period. She’s very different when she comes back. Then she gets a beautiful send-off. She’s been a victim for so long, so she gets a beautiful send-off as a hero that her fans will really, really like.

Is this the last season of Smallville?

I don’t know. It depends on whatever goes on between Tom Welling and the powers that be. If there is another season, I won’t be there – that is all I know!

So what you want about Lana, shes been important to Smallville and I for one will miss her once she is gone.

Kristen says season 9 depends on Tom Welling? Hopefully they don't wait last minute for him to sign on or not, the same way with Allison. They need a decision before the seasons 8 finale...

They're some serious work going on in that necklace she's wearing. I love it!! :yay:

she seems happy about not coming back. I don't blame her.

^^ Of course, and I bet Tom feels the same, 8 years playing the same role is more than enough! Hope he moves on, once Clark dons the glasses and starts flying he's Superman (sans suit), I don't think Tom wants to go thru a complete season of "when Clark is going to wear the suit", "why Clark doesn't have the suit yet" bla blah blah....

My two favorite pictures from KK's appearance at the VGA show.

Are there anymore new pics of Kreuk? I think the new hairstyle is really cute.

^^ And what do you expect from a freaking video game, top movie material? At least the fighting scenes look good, but I don't expect much anyway....oh, and Vega looks kind of cool.

I dunno, looked okay to me...

*shrug*

Then again, I'm not exactly a big Street Fighter fan.

You also might want to consider that a trailer made for a Japanese audience may not appeal to an American one.

I'm not sure what might be different culturally that would cause this, but that trailer had an oddly relaxed feel for an action/adventure film based on a game...

Not a lot of quick cuts or action...

I'm thinking the American trailer, once it's ready, will look different and may give everyone a different feel for the film.

*shrugs*

yeah, the scenes looked okay to me. I'm going to rent this movie regardless of how it turns out though...

Oh god. I adore Kristin, but that looks god awful.
Tis not a good time to be a street fighter fan.

It's probably a good thing that I'm not a Street Fighter fan then, because I think it looks pretty awesome. :D

its probably going to do decent in the bo to bad this and the upcoming dragon ball film are not being more faithful to their source materials.

I'd love to support KK but she just doesn't scream "Chun-Li" to me. The movie actually looks promising though. It would probably do better IMO if the movie wasn't affliliated w/ the SF franchise.

I actually do understand that. It's got to be hard, if not impossible, for SF fans to appreciate a film that veers from their very specific expectations. I get that. KK has a very hard but very lean body type - not quite the videogame Chun-Li curves.

As a non-SF fan though, it just looks kind of cool to me. I like movies with some good chop-sockey (my dad's term ;)) fight scenes - especially if there are some females doing the fighting.

I'm all for the female chop-sockey flicks. My wife and I watch all of the latest swarm of female - lead movies that's sparked since the Charlie's Angels franchise. i.e.

Catwoman, Aeon Flux, Elektra, Ultraviolet, Dead or Alive.

Unfortuantely most haven't had real success and I don't forsee this being any different.

It wouldn't even be all that hard to make a good Street Fighter movie that is faithful to the fans. That's what bothers me. Capcom just has their heads up their asses. They've got a fantastic comic series that they could translate. but instead, they decide to create -this-.

I think it looks alright, but as BS2 pointed out, it would be a better movie if it wasn't trying to be something it's not. It's essentially street fighter in name only. Oh well. Guess we'll have to wait 10 years for another one.

A better quality trailer here: http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/23163

And..from someone who's someone.. apparently. ;)

1. The trailer that has been showing up on Japanese sites was originally created by Fox, then dubbed & slightly altered for Japanese audiences. When Fox gets the trailer online and into domestic theatres, this is pretty much what you'll be seeing.

2. The movie is around 97 minutes long and rated PG-13. We HAD an R up until a few weeks ago, but FOX wanted a PG-13 release so we cut out a few moments of brutality. I expect there will be an unrated version available on DVD when that time comes.

3. For those of you who were concerned, no, Taboo does not sing in the film.

4. Since the poster has been spotted in theatres, I guess it's OK for me to post one! Enjoy!
