Assuming it doesnt get lost in the shuffle considering its coming out so early in the year, this has a strong chance of being the 2011 Game of the Year. There is SO much variety in the game. They took everything about LBP and kicked it up to the extreme. I played levels based on Geometry Wars, Flower, Pacman, Street Fighter, Tetris and so much more. You can even make movies based on the LBP world which works surprisingly well. Its a beta so some of it is glitchy, but Media Molecule really outdid themselves and I can see why Sony bought them up. Anyone that was on teh fence, needs to get this. Day one purchase without a doubt

Did anyone notice the LBP servers were tweaked this week? Some cool updates to the community searches (Like a list of "Mm favorites" ) and they finally changed the "news" in that lefthand moon. Also, there are web new privacy settings in the "start" menu, presumably for some of the online things they are planning with LBP2.

Flower works like the original complete with the motion controls. It doesnt work nearly quite as well buts impressive that one could even make a prototype for it and with some tweaking, I can see it being implemented alot better. You literally can do almost anything with this game. Its very overwhelming but then its a good thing Im not a programmer and theres others who can create the awesome things for me to play

One new device added is the grappling hook and I love it. That thing is really fun to use and swing around. Im pretty sure someone will eventually make a Bionic Commando game based around it

So are 3D type levels possible or is that just some sort of trickery?

Unforutnatly I havent found one that offers the depth that I think you are implying. FPS that I played was more like Duck Hunt, scrolling across the screen, not into the screen like a modern FPS like CoD

Looks like Sackboy is getting his first PSN title and PS+ member get it for free

While it's no doubt depressing that we have to keep waiting for LittleBigPlanet 2, Media Molecule is making the wait a bit more tolerable with a whole mess of LittleBigPlanet goodness -- there's a new game, a new demo and a new beta.

The game is something we heard about last week but now have official confirmation on -- Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves. This is going to be a PlayStation Network title where gamers use the PlayStation Move controller to get Sackboy through 10 levels "dominated by dinosaurs, where the Evil Big Rex is king." While the Move will be the main controller for one player, others will use regular PlayStation 3 controllers to play along. The game doesn't require any kind of LBP disc and will be released on December 14 for $5.99. If you're a PlayStation Plus member, you can download Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves for free on December 7, 2010.

On the LittleBigPlanet 2 side of the coin, there's a lot happening -- including a new batch of beta invites. Early December will see PlayStation Plus members get the beta invites, and then on December 21, the LBP 2 demo will be available for everyone. Also on the 21st, a PSN demo for the story mode in LittleBigPlanet 2 will go live.

Yes, there are a bunch of costumes to unlock in the game and a library of costumes released as DLC. All of them are mix and match pieces, and you can also use any of the stickers/props you get in the game to customize Sackboy further.

I got an email inviting me to the beta, but the code doesn't work. It seems like some emails were sent out with a placeholder code that was never changed. I replied to a thread about it on LPB.me, there are like 10 other people in there so far, hopefully I'll get a replacement code.

I want to try out LBP2... but I really want that beta costume.

I clicked to it through the email I received and signed in with my PSN id, so maybe it knows I was invited to the beta.

just a little update. I actually found and played a FPS level in the beta that does allow you to move in all directions. It wasnt exactly done the best but the potential was there

Well I am very excited. I've already queued up some levels to try out.

Wish I'd gotten on board with the beta. The way I see it, though, why put all the time and effort into making levels you may not be able to play when the finished game is out?

I think some of the levels from the LBP 1 beta made it over to the actual game.
