Great manip!
they always should save the arch villain for a sequel. Moriarty, Joker, etc.
this is what makes the iron man franchise so good is with 2 IM films done they haven't even done Mandarin as the villain or the Demon In The bottle Storyline.
They just showed First Flight on Cartoon Network. That is how you do Sinestro. Not turn him that fast, but that's how he should be portrayed.
No, I like FF but Sinestro was changed a little bit too much, he feels too much like a corrupt cop... He's more like Denzel Washington in training Day than the imperialistic officer-type that we all know and love...
You dont love villains? We arent talking nazis here, comic book villains, just like comic book heroes, are there to be loved... I love Sinestro. he's a great character...
I read the script and its pretty much how you describe it. So may i ask,is Legion the embodiment of the yellow energy? I thought that was Parasite. How does this work exactly?

they have Ryan Reynolds who is a VERY big name
Molina got his head stabbed with a spear in Raiders of the Lost Ark. "You throw me the idol, I throw you the whip".
I'm ambivalent about Lively, but the rest of this cast seems pretty solid. But I see the point about the need for an "established" actor. Maybe that's the direction to take with Abin Sur or the Guardians?
A big name maybe, but a joke as an actor. The man has very little respect in my book as a serious actor and when he does get serious, the amityville horror, it is borderline laughable. I just hope he can bring a more serious persona and not be a joke. And as far as people questioning Alfred Molinas acting ability you obviously havn't seen chocolat, boogy nights, or frita, becuz the man is a genious.

I hope that made sense, and I only scratched the surface. Whether the revised script takes more from Emerald Dawn or Geoff Johns' newer Secret Origin remains to be seen. Either way Campbell and crew have their work cut out for them consolidating these two origins. No, that's Parallax.
Legion was a character introduced in Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn, a 90s retelling of Jordan's origin, which appears to be the major influence on the first draft of the movie everyone read.
Legion is the main villain in that story, and is a violent species which was inadvertently almost destroyed by the Guardians, they create a type of hive mind and body known as the creature Legion. As per Emerald Dawn he is the first real battle Jordan faces. Hal helps protect Oa when it attacks, Hal enters the Central Battery taking the power into himself is able to destroy Legion.
The movie first draft took heavilly from this strory.
Geoff Johns however completely dropped this character from his retelling of Hal's origin.
Parallax is the sentient entity that infected Jordan, later revealed to be the "Yellow Impurity" in the Battery. Or as you call it - "embodiment of the yellow energy"
How does it work?
Geoff Johns is all over the place, and less and less consistent the more he tries to explain it.
Supposedly at the dawn of time the Guardians trapped this fear entity in the main Power Battery, (in fact that's why they created the Power Battery, to collect the universes's will-power and trap this all consuming fear entity inside.
Hence the "yellow impurity"/weakness in the Battery, and all the GLs had to be "fearless" in order to use tjhe rings which tap into the battery.
Otherwise they would get infected.
A bajilion years later, at the ruins of Coast City (Hal's home town destroyed by ...I won't get into that here) Jordan upon seeing everything he had known and loved destroyed, willingly allows fear to creep in and overcome him.
Not knowing that fear rushing over him is tainted by the Parallax entity (which is being directed by Sinestro).
Hal allows it in, and becomes possessed thinking he and the entity are one and the same.
During Rebirth, upon learning the truth about the entity, he pretty much crawls back from the dead and helps trap it in the Battery again.
By remembering and honing in on his true worst fear (watching his father die before his eyes) He is able to separate from what is himself and what is Parallax, and (with the help of the reborn Corps) he proceeds to kick it's unholy ass!
Until Sinestro and his Corps break it free, creating the now famous Sinestro Corps.
Parasite is the sentient being in the Central Battery of the Starsapphires.
I won't even touch this one.
Especially if they still want to use Legion as a main villain.
Not feeling Mark Strong for Sinestro.
