The Official Mark Strong & Sinestro Thread

If he wasn't typecast before, Mark Strong is definitely typecast now...especially after Sherlock Holmes, Kick-Ass, and then this.

At least he's gonna have a lot more work after 2011.

The list of actors who made their mark playing villains for their entire career is arguably longer than ones who made their mark playing heroes.

Here's what I would hope to see:

Sinestro would make a mention of his home planet Korguar and states that it's "the most orderly planet in the galaxy". Then towards the end of the film, we would see this:

This would show Sinestro's dark side and how he willing to do anything to presevre order, even if it means take "extreme" measures.

What book are those pics from? Looks like the penciller could possibly be Dave Gibbons.

It's almost like a rite of passage. If you want to be a good actor you've got to play a good villian (ala Vin Diesel, Johnny Depp, John Travolta, et. al.)

I wouldn't really mention Vin Diesel in the same sentance as Depp or Travolta to be honest. He's only ever had one good role.

Diesel is geting his share of films with top billing. He is involved in 3 different franchises. Even though they have grossed more in films than Disel, I can't say the same for Depp or Travolta.

I'm thinking that they might hold off on Sinestro until Comic Con or after. We'll see.

actually, I think the chances of seeing Sinestro sooner or later is higher than seeing Killowog or the other aliens.

Yeah. Geoff Johns said he saw Mark Strong in full Sinestro make-up when he visited the set a while back.

It's always possible. If they dont like exactly how the make-up shows on camera, they could always touch it up a bit afterward.

he's blue but it worked well for Nightcrawler in X2.

But Nightcrawler wasn't an alien. Plus he had the sin carvings all over his body to help. Sinestro needs to look otherworldly. Just paint won't cut it. But we'll see how they do it.
