You and Jason Bourne are gay with each other. And Mentok and THWIP*.

My god...I spent 6 hours in the Citadel at the beginning just exploring and doing side missions. I love you Bioware.

This. game. is. amazing.

Indeed.

Ive clocked-up 24 hours worth of gameplay, and I've only done 1 and a half of the missions you get after you see the council. I do EVERYTHING! Ha.

And I love the way you have different experiences depending on who you put on your team, or if you do the "right or bad" thing. The amount of freedom is incredible. Its such a deep game, with so many factors making up the game, credit goes to Bioware....How do you test a game like this??? Where do you start?? Well they did it!

Mass Effect is AMAZING! Its shaping up to be my greatest gaming experience. The music is amazing, the cutscenes amazing....the Hollywood factor is amazing. Even as a third person shooter, I love the system. I love freezing gameplay - whether it be to get my bearings and aim at the enemy, or whether to blow someone up. The grenades are so cool as well.

I hope it never ends!!!

Holy hell, I can't even express into words how much I love this game. I just got through with it and I'm still just grinning about the experience. Now I'm going to play through again as a renegade and then a woman.

I'm kind of confused though, I completed the game from start to finish with Wrex and Kaiden in my squad and I didn't unlock the achievements for finishing the majority of the game with them. Which kind of sucks, but oh well, I'll probably just have to playthrough multiple times to get it all.

Oh and I like the idea the that certain achievements unlock certain items/bonuses for your character. I think more games should start incorporating that.

People, a question about the AI....

Is it really that dumb?

Are the fights a piece of cake?

Cause I hope there's some challenge :cmad:

Okay, so I can't go home this weekend which means at this point that it just makes more sense for me to get this game for Christmas and play it over Christmas Break. But I have to visit my Virginian FRIEND so that'll set me back a WEEK on Mass Effect. Then I'll be able to play this game.

I'll probably get Eternal Sonata for Christmas as well. Maybe Call of Duty 4... I don't know. Definitely not the Orange Box as I already have HL2, Ep1 and Portal. The only worthwhile game Valve's produced with the Source engine.

I'm having a hard time convincing myself to pick up Call of Duty 4 for a 5 hour campaign. :(

I know, right? I'm thinking I'll talk myself into it when it's $20 during a summer game drought. Probably summer 2009 when it's no longer an impressive game in any way.

Whoops! I just found out I'm never getting CoD4!

Now it can join the list of other games I'll never get for not dropping price fast enough: Saint's Row, Lost Planet, Rainbow Six Vegas.

Man, I love saving my money.

I am assuming both of you guys have Live? Is that right? You're missing out on the best online FPS shooter. Yes, better than Halo 3. The campaign is awesome even if short. Right now I'd say right behind Mass Effect, its the best game out. Just ask anyone here who has it. If you have a mild interest in CoD2, then this game is for you.

I do have Live, but I'm certainly not huge into it. I enjoy a little Halo here and there if some buddies are on, but from what I understand when you jump into COD4 as late as we would be it's kinda hard to get anywhere online right?

Not really, you rank up pretty fast if you play on a semi-regular basis. You don't have to be doing great to rank up. Since it has been released I've put in about 21 hours online and am at rank 41 out of 55 and pretty much all I've been doing is sniping, which makes it longer to rank up.

Eh...I think I'm still gonna have to wait for a price drop. I went through Assassin's Creed and now I'm making my way through Mass Effect and Super Mario Galaxy has been collecting dust since I got those games. I think after that I'll take a bit of a breather. :(

Still waiting for Mass Effect to arrive. I ordered it from play.com and every time my order gets posted on a Wednesday it arrives either on Monday or Tuesday. Assassin's Creed arrived on Wednesday (a week after it got posted) but it's Thursday and still no Mass Effect :(

A friend of mine, that ordered it the same time I did, got it this morning, though...I really hope I find it in the mailbox tomorrow. I would have bought it from a store here in Greece (it was released on the 23rd) but I usually order from play.com because the games are about 8euros cheaper there...

Just completed the main storyline, and I was pleasantly surprised. At first I was sort of disappointed with it because it seemed almost sort of shallow to me, but once I got in pace with the main storyline I couldn't put it down. Oh, and you have no idea how gratifying it is to watch Saren blow his own head off at your suggestion. (Tip: Max out intimidate as soon as you can and you'll get to skip quite a few unnecessary battles)

Pretty much, the story was phenomenal.. after some getting used to, the combat was plenty fun as well. I can't wait for some DLC for this game. Though, I agree with kainedamo in the fact that it'd be nice to have other large-scale cities aside from the Citadel. And even then, the Citadel seemed a little cramped for what looked like a massive station/city. If they fixed that and tweaked the design to be more varied and lively, I'd be completely content with this game.

I'd say it's a 9.5/10 for me, despite previous reservations.
