X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

I feel the general audience will care a lot more for the Deapool/Fox men side of things than the reboot Xmen......
They should have gave them a Mcu movie before Doomsday.

Rebecca/Marsden/Alan/Ian are basically newcomers to the MCU. Kelsey only had 30 second cameo in Marvels. Patrick wasn't even part of Ds2's marketing aside from a small bit in the trailer.

Avengers Doomsday almost feels like a Marvel fighting game with all the rumored fights and all the characters being broken up into factions (X-Men/mutants, Thunderbolts/New Avengers, Avengers, Fantastic Four, a villain faction with Doctor Doom being the final boss).

I hope the mutants aren't all killed in one sweep. I remember Doom decimating the X-Men in Ultimate Alliance, and it would be reminiscent of DOFP's killing spree of the Sentinels.

Its happening!
Im excited! really liked Thunderbolts and the movie made me emotional in some parts, and thats unusual on these movies lately. So he really has potential. If the script is really great, he will push himself to an even better and more special movie yet.

Especially rare with Marvel movies , so this is a top choice.

of course there are so many talented directors out there, with different backgrounds, genre films and the like, but... Im kinda interested to see how a director from a Marvel movie can outdo himself with a huge property like X-Men. it may be risky, I know, but..... Im really curious about his work with the A-list team this time.

Not a bad choice, I just wish the lead (Yelena/Wolverine) of the film take so much screentime, compare to the rest of the group.

I think it needs to be said, what is needed to make a good Thunderbolts movie is different than what is needed to make a good X-men movie.

and thats why Feige/Marvel signed a different writer for the X-Men film.
directors can direct pretty different films, in case some people arent familiar with filmaking

Sure, but a parallel can be drawn between some of the stuff tackled in Thunderbolts and the X-Men usual struggles. Characters not fitting in, society outcasts, the human struggle… plus juggling a team of unlikely characters… It’s probably not the most exciting directorial choice but one that sort of fits the mold, has successfully worked with the house…

The X-Men can and should be bigger, better than the best of MCU phases, and that potential is going to be entrusted in the hands of Jake Schreier or the like lol.

Has the rumored writer changes since last I saw?

I've made peace with the fact that this movie will be Kevin Feige's baby, and that the writer and director are just his avatars.

I just hope Feige makes the right choices, but we'll see.
