It's Smallville, if they do recast they'll probably get someone who's a lot older and chubbier to go with the Man of Steel look, but im still against that. Bring on Rosenbaum! If anything, make him fat.

since when was lex fat? the older lex clone was fugly but not fat.

Guy's probably a fan of The Dark Knight Returns.

i soo hope micheal comes back for the last 2 or 3 episodes, even just one will make me jump for joy. this suspense is literally killing me. i swear im having smallville withdraws. :awesome:

I would say two or three is strdaching it. One likely but we don't really know for sure.

fixxxer, remember MoS? The chubby, capitalist Luthor? I was referring to that.

hopefully they just get a bald actor to sit in the shadows at his desk at Lex corp and having him say some cool lines about how Superman is a threat to humanity, how he has to defeat him to save mankind. only problem is they gotta figure out a way to bring him back since they did a bunch of stupid stuff about his character. thatll have to happen offscreen, my guess is they can use lionel luthor to push that story forward.

Fixxer that stuff was reported back a page. As to if its true or him playing coy only time will tell us. I do hope he is just playing cool and not saying anything to when. Its right.

i got a question.. if he does return as lex, is he returning as the grown clone? (which is dumb) or as THE lex, who dissapeared end of season 7, and 'apparantly' died in season 8 by GA. i really hope they don't do a typical smallville story diversion! and acctually end it properly, with the real lex!
im sorry if this has been discussed already, but theres to many pages to read through.
thanks in advance..

its being set up that if Lex does show up, it will be the clone.................which is very dumb, unless Lionel shows up and finds out the Lex's brain is still alive somewhere and will implant it into the clone once he's the right age

well if this is true i am very dissapointed, but as much as this show has dissapointed me, i have still watched all the episodes (although it pains me) just for a little glimpse of the real good stuff they show, and with the show lacking as much quality (due to very obvious budget reasons) as it did from season 1 to 7 its definitly time to end, thought i am just waiting to be dissapointed at the end when all we see of the real superman is probably just a shirt rip and the real S on his chest, i really doubt we're gonna see him flying for more than 2 seconds on screen.

i also this Rosenbaum isn't gonna return if hes coming back as his clone, he's not the real deal! even though its the same actor, but ehh its smallville, its never going to be perfect. but i will still watch.

I personally hope the REAL Lex is still out there and alive and if Michael returns, he'll be playing him.

As great as is would be for him to be real lex again its not likely the casr. It has been stated many times the original lex did die. Though they could always change it. As for clone I still don't see what the fuss is about it. Lex has done the same dam thing in comics before. Plus as we know the clone has all oflex memories/emotions/feelings. So in essence he really is still lex through and through. Also it very doubtful we will see the show just end with simple shirt rip and a quick fly scene. We have seen shirt rip already and we have seen flying. I am sure/hope we are going to see flying and the superman suit play big role in finale.

Which sucks without measure!
Maybe the PTB at Smallville see this as their thing. Lex is a clone of a murdered man seeking revenge. Cat Grant isn't really Cat but she did take her name from the other Cat, she just spells it differently. Jimmy wasn't Jimmy he was really Jimmy's older brother Jimmy. Lionel is dead that's his evil twin from another reality. Jonathan's back as a ghost unless it's Brainiac again but why would he do that he's Brainiac FIVE now.
They still have time to replace Clark with Connor if they want to (read some of the latest rumors?) Remember, we're only halfway through the season, what's one more plotline?

thats a good point, i do remember there being a cat in an episode of season 8 or 9? i dont quite remember, she went on a date i think with clark right? while lois watched? what happened to her? the producers did say when that ep aired it was cat grant, now this seeaon we have a different one? pretty, but not quite as hot as the last one. as for the lionel thing, im ok with it, because im sure he's gonna die (again) the jimmy thing needed to be retconned, because he was basically the same age as clark, the whole jonathan kent thing doesnt really need an explanation i think, its fine the way it was in the premiere, but the lex thing really gets to me! i'd prefer it if it was the alpha clone that died in the Ga explosion, i get that he does it all the time in the comics, but we can't have THE clark becoming THE superman, with the psuedo lex...#
im hopeing that when it ends and if Rosenbaum does return, they at least give the idea it could be the real lex, leaving it open kinda. i guess i'll be happy with that, because at least that way they won't have to backtread to explain how it could be the real 1.

Well the cat and jimmy things were different cases. They confirmed cat from the other season was not the real cat. But the new one is cat, sure her name wasn't originally cat but its sv take on the character to give her some new background and all. Heck look at all dc characters they have had on the show. They all had backstories/certain elements changed from comics for this or that reasons. As for jimmy that is a sore spot but from what we heard there was problems with producers and dc over the character. So I still think if they had such issue with sv using jimmy they should have not allowed him to evn come into the picture when he did. They could have held off to a later time. But even with there mess of things they tried to give a some what of a reason to the whole jimmy issue.

Lex is a different thing. He is still in ways the lex just a new dam body. So really why is that wrong at all. He knows all lex knew/has his emotional feelings/issues. He is still lex. Just like I and othrw have said no different then comics stuff besides a few differences. And as for lionel we have no clue if he will even make it out alive before finale episode and big deal he is just an alternate from a parallel world.

The real Lex is back.

There was no way around it, they needed Michael back for the finale. It would've been a slap to the face had they recast him.

At least now, after all these years of talking about it, the "Lex won't know" discussion comes back! Beacon certainly paves the way for Lex not remembering anything about Clark or even who he is.

meet the "original" Lex Luthor ;)

he originally was fat lol, but then he "died" and came back in a clone body (with the original's brain) and then we got the Lex thats thin.

Well that is if they go with the root the clone ages to proper age and loses his hair. We still don't know what is happening with lucas lex yet. Same goes with michael lex for finale. there is many ways they can go.

Rosenbaum returns to 'Smallville' for series finale

After seven years and 160 episodes, Michael Rosenbaum thought he was finished portraying diabolical villain Lex Luthor on “Smallville.” Even though that was three years ago, the fans had been clamoring for his return ever since.

Rosenbaum finally relented, agreeing to appear in the two-hour CW series finale on May 13.

“I just felt like it was the right thing to do,” said Rosenbaum, a Castle High School and Western Kentucky University graduate.

“I felt the fans created the show and they followed me at such a level that I couldn’t say no. I was starting to hear voices. I felt after 160 episodes, that was it. But the fans didn’t think so. I’m doing it for them. I’ve got to make the fans happy. Lex is an integral part of the show. No one expects a show to last 10 years. I gave them seven years and I thought it was pretty commendable. Now it’s been on three more years. Clark is starting to look like he’s in his 30s.”

Lex and Clark Kent, portrayed by Tom Welling, are expected to meet in a final showdown.

“Obviously there’s unfinished business between Clark and Lex that have got to get resolved,” said Rosenbaum, who left the show three years ago for personal reasons. “Our future is depending on it.”

Unlike his earlier appearances, he plans to wear a bald cap.

“There are other projects that I am working on that require hair,” Rosenbaum said, laughing. “It takes four months to grow back.”

Rosenbaum has appeared in several movies, including “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” “Sorority Boys,” “Sweet November,” “Urban Legend” and “Bringing Down the House.”
