I'm surprised so many people aren't up for the idea of Zod. I'm pumped for it.

Seeing Nolan's name in virtually every thread...

is somewhat annoying to me.

Oh good, I'm not the only one. (Nothing against Nolan, he does good movies. I just don't praise him highly as just about everyone)

I think the most unique feature of Shannon's is his face, especially his jawline. So I would be against him wearing a beard.

I've actually had a similar idea. Luthor, who will (I am 95% sure) be the CEO version, should go to jail at the end of the first movie, in the second one he gets assigned by the government (perhaps even with Superman together) to manage the Brainiac problem. Superman should acquire Kandor and in the third movie he could go to space to find a way to resize it. There he would meet Mongul and War World. But hey, only a dream

I would like Superman VS Luthor and Zod in the first movie, then Superman VS Brainiac in II, including a sequence inside of Kandor with Superman and Jimmy Olsen as Nightwing and Flamebird, then either Mongul/War World or Darkseid/Apokolips for III, then a fourth and final movie for the series, which would be an adaptation of All-Star Superman/The Last Days of Superman, using either the solar radiation overdose or Virus-X, although I'd go with Virus-X myself. I love the idea of a Superman "bucket list" story since his list would be nothing but good deeds for humanity. And the original Virus-X story featured one of my favorite Superman quotes: "Do good for others and every man can be a Superman"-which I think is the ultimate message of the character. Ultimately, Superman is about altruism. No person in the real world can fly, but we can all aspire to having Superman's morals, which are as super as the rest of him.

If Snyder makes a film that has the audience leaving in a good mood and feeling at least a little more kindly towards their fellow man, then he will show that he gets Superman.

I just think that it's a boring idea because Superman has so many other villians that they can use. And we have another two Superman movies using the same villains. Are we ever going to see another villain that appeared in the comics?

I mean, honestly who are they going to use for a sequel if MOS gets one? A new evil business man and desperate black comedian? It's all just so rehashy and so f**king boring to me.

That being said I knew after the rumors that they could be using Zod so this news isn't a shock or anything and I will still give the movie a shot because atleast Superman will be facing a physical villain this time. Shannon is a fine actor and I look forward to seeing him in the film. He's a good choice no matter which character he is playing.

I'm personally hoping Zod is the warm-up for Brainiac in the sequel.

I for one would be strangely fascinated in seeing Snyder's take on Nuclear Man.

I can see why people are apprehensive of Zod. I am too, but I'm open minded enough that something special can be made out of it.

I agree with many that I hope we get to see some foreshadowing to future villains, like Brainiac.

this is both lazy, uncreative and stupid. Superman has a ton of other possible villains to choose from. Why repeat? Who cares if he can be done differently?

Brainiac should CLEARLY have been in the film. He easily could have worked well in a tech real world way that would have kicked so much ass. Superman fighting dozens of machines then taking on Brainiac whom I think holds much more importance from a Kryptonian perspective than the boring ass Zod. Brainiac has all the knowledge and memories of Krypton captured. That could lead to some really compelling story telling.

Zod is just lazy, stupid and piss boring. ANY other villain would have worked better.

This film is a one off btw... there will be no damn sequel. This should have been THE Superman film WB was aiming for before losing the rights and instead they all decide to go with a repeated boring **** villain... what a stupid lame downer... my anticipation for this film has definitely dropped big time.
