The Official Mighty Avengers Thread

Pym probably figures Quicksilver will leave the team if he knows it's not Wanda. Pietro's been saying as much to himself pretty much since he joined the team, too.

The fact Pietro doesn't know makes sense for the cover of MA #34 ,Pietro looks like he could be protecting "Wanda " from Thor ... not knowing wanda is Loki

Good call. I wouldn't be surprised if the current arc leads right into Siege and Thor's appearance.

It is part of siege , i think issue #34 is the tie in actually .. also they will appear in thunderbolts

That is a good call. It flows very nicely then.

The latest issue of MA was quite good.

SIEGE BLOCKBUSTER TIE-IN!!

As the Mighty Avengers clash with the Thunderbolts in the Siege of Asgard, surprises abound. What are everyone's true motivations, and when push comes to punch, where do their loyalties lie? Will this most twisted version of the team produce any heroes— or will the Thunderbolts' tradition of redemption get stomped into the muddy battlefield that is The Siege?

32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

Ultron should be interesting. It would be cool if he still had some Phalanx stuff behind him; Slott has been able to work with the "space team" of Abnett & Lanning well so far - check out the harmony between ROK: INHUMANS #2 and the last two issues of Mighty. Even Gage, occasional co-writer of Mighty, worked well with them in AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE with the Prison 42 story. On the other hand, prior stories claimed that Jocasta, as a creation of Ultron, always has some deep programmed "directive" to rebuild him that even Iron Man had a hard time unplugging. Still, should be good.

Guess I may be sticking on THUNDERBOLTS longer than I thought. FYI,
Scourge was unmasked and revealed as Nuke, former Daredevil villain and a grade A nut-job partially created by Logan in his pre-amnesia days.
So it makes a lot of sense to have him battle U.S. Agent.

That's who that was! I recognized him but couldn't remember his name for the life of me.:applaud

So, judging from the covers we've seen so far, it looks like the team is gonna be split like so:

Asgard
US Agent
Stature
Quicksilver

Pymspace
Hank
Jocasta
Jarvis

I'd probably throw Hercules in with the Asgard crowd since he's got a lot of history with Thor, but that's just a guess.

Not a specific comic. I think those are the characters we've seen participating in the Siege event so far, and Siege focuses on Asgard.

Here is how I think the Thunderbolts would stack up against the Mighty Avengers, This is without Pym, since he will be stuck in Pymspace. Either Jocasta, Jarvis and Cho are stuck with him or they are going to be the tech -support like they have been lately.

Scourge - USAgent
Ghost - Vision
Paladin - ????
Ant-Man - Stature
Headsman - Hercules
Mr. X - Quicksilver

I'm not sure Herc will be there, actually; "Assault" clearly takes place while Dark Reign is still in effect (Norman's still running things), so it must be before "Siege".

Oh, true, Herc may be pushing up daisies (or whatever they have in Greece :)). That'll be a bit of a shame, but after Pak and Van Lente gave us that phenomenally entertaining Thor/Herc crossover a little while ago, I can't be too upset. Hopefully Herc'll be back later and we can get both him and Thor on an Avengers team together.

Throw Herc, Thor and Ares on the same team. Nickname said team "Overkill".

Hercules might be dead if his March solicit is to be taken at face value.

I just read #31. Does this story takes place before or after War of Kings?
