The Official Mitt Romney Thread III

I find that I don't normally agree with you on a lot of political factors, Lightning...

There's a long line ahead of you, trust me. :funny: But it's cool. Glad we agree on this.

And that sucks about your family. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm actually going through something a bit similar, although thankfully not as drastic, with my interfaith relationship.

Sorry to hear about your situation too. What are the two opposing religions, if I may ask?

The last President I voted for was Bill Clinton back in the mid-90s. However, when this President stood up for the LGBT community it made me sit up and take notice of him. I guess it's because I am offically a double minority in this country (non-white AND gay). The idea of a Republican-led congress/House stares the hell out of me, and drove me to actually cast a vote this time. It's about my future--and that of my partner's (who really pushed me to get off my ass and do something).

Funny thing? I've always been a man of color. But I haven't always been out of the closet. S*** is getting real for me in ways that haven't struck home before. :wow:

He can in Colorado, where the Democrats are starting to ''worry'' about a Johnson Effect.

Electoral Map > Gary Johnson effect.

The sum of the whole will be greater than tiny percentage parts, trust me. Gary will hurt Romney more than Obama in the overall, at least that's the way it's looking today. Check back tomorrow for new updates. LOL :)

I will check back...I can not wait for Tuesday...then I wonder what the hell I will do...

Yea, are you prepared to take responsibility of everything? For everything he will do from 2012 and onwards?

What are you talking about?

If Obama wins, 50/50 we go to war with Iran. He supports Patriot Act, NDAA, and has led us further into debt.

If Romney wins, 100% we go to war with Iran. He supports Patriot Act, NDAA, and will lead us into debt.

So, yea, I can live with being a volunteer for Gary Johnson and voting for him. Trying to grow the LP. A 3rd party isn't just gonna grow overnight. It takes work, volunteers, years.

That was directed at a lot of people in general. Mostly rhetorical question.

You and others always get me to fall for those questions too. I nearly was about to type a few paragraphs, but settled at just being very short.

Whoever wins, whoever voted for this winner, I am holding them responsible for the the winner's major actions. If the winner declares war on Iran, I am blaming them for it for example.

Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize...but kills innocent people with drone strikes in the middle east...and yea, I know the main targets are bad guys, but lots of innocents get killed as well.

Um...what?

I thought Para lived in Vancouver and was a extra on film sets...thus can't vote here...

I think all he's saying that if the guy who wins does something like go to war with Iran, that he will blame the people who voted for him.

Because they were prophets and could see everything he was going to do ahead of time?

If he's a Canadian citizen then he has no stake in our election. But if he's posting from the angle of someone who is not voting at all--but wants to blame everyone for what subsequently happens--that's some unadulterated s***! LOL

When I voted for someone, and things don't turn out well, I blame myself for being part of it. I hold myself responsible for the **** ups and making things worse. Why shouldn't I apply the same standards to everyone else?

Where is that gif that shows the guy's head exploding?

No. Really. Where is it?

I actually don't disagree with that. If you vote for a guy who starts a war, you're responsible for that war.

You gave that person power.

People forget that responsibility is a two way street in a democracy.

I always believe rights = responsibility. The right to vote, also means your responsibility towards it. That's the skin in the game.

That makes no sense at all.

Thundercrack beat me to it, but yes, If Romney or Obama declare war on Iran, which is likely to happen no matter which of them wins, so yeah...blame the people that voted...people should know why they are voting, not just this 'Lesser of two evil crap' or 'I am voting so the other guy doesn't win'

Well, we do have to take responsibility for our decisions....and voting is one of them.

I don't know that I'll blame those who voted for whoever wins...but when they start apologizing for the **** pulled by that person, I will sure say something...

Well, it's like the Germans saying they didn't know what they were getting when they voted for Hitler. Either they're lying, or they didn't bother to listen to his speeches or read his book (which sold out).

When you elect someone to represent you, they do just that.

Apparently LightningStrkez and I are the only two on the opposing side....what are the odds of that combo...
