you liked supes R. right?

well i loved Batman Begins it had emotion charactars action and intense story telling.....and superman returns sucked more child dick than michael jackson!

in conclusion... batman begin ruled supes sucks

(i dont really mean that...just making a point)

Personally, I liked Superman Returns. Singer had a lot of passion in that flick. At the sametime, there was nothing really new to show, besides the kid. There were a lot of good ideas but nothing came through. Samething with X3. However, I prefer Superman Returns over X3.

Honestly, this has to be one of the most lackluster summers in a long time. I'm picky but I'm not a fanboy, so my reason are valid and not some nerdy rants. So far, Mission Impossible and the Break-Up (surprise) is up there as the best movies of the summer so far.... Superman Returns is good, but not great, but it's on my list as well. The others (X3, Cars, Nacho Libre) are not BAD but I wouldn't buy them on DVD.

That's why I really want Pirates 2 to really really impress me. I want to have fun. I want action and romance. So far, from what I've heard, it's going to do that.

If Pirates doesn't deliever, here's to Spider-Man 3 and Transformers.....

One year worser than another.

I hope 2007 will be better, it has Spidey 3, POTC3, Shrek 3, TF, HP5 and many others

It´s weird that, so far, no big summer releases have been given a Batman Begins or Spidey 2 sort of almost universal approval. Makes one wonder if the movies got worse or the critics got harsher for whatever reason. None made more than 76% on the tomatometer. Cars and SR are almost tied there. People talk and talk about POTC2, but it has started with 60%, considered in the average/mediocre range. Hope it improves, but if it doésn´t, wonder if it´s a sign of less than stellar WOM.

Any kind of online critic meter thingie sucks.
It doesn't matter.
It means nothing.
Go watch the damn movies by yourselves :(

Well, critics are important, because they are prood of critical success of the movie.

guys...weve waited for pirates of the carribean 2 for 3 years and we have a guy on the board who has seen it and is willing to answer questions about it and were arguing about tomatoemetres and getting back to the old debate of x3 and superman returns..just so you guys know they were both different movies and everyone will have a different opinion. but honestly the vile one i have some questions:D

1. is barbosa part of the cliff hanger?
2.how far into the movie until we see jack?
3.ive heard this movie follows the empire strikes back formula (characters start off in a grim situation, are seperated, go on various different tasks, revelations are made, very grim cliffhanger where alot of hope seems lost) is it true that pirates 2 follows this formula? is it effective?
4.are there any surprises in the film besides the cliff hanger?
5. what is the pacing like especially in such a long time (i loved superman but it was boring at some parts)
6.how much screen time does barbosa have?
7.does will still take things WAY to seriously?
8.are there any signifigant betrayals?
9.how far into the movie do we see davie jones?
10.on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad ass is the movie?
11. on a scale of 1 to 10 how good is the movie?

THANK YOU:D:D

1. Yes.
2. About 5-8 minutes in like the first movie. Jack's re-introduction is fantastic.
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. It's hard to describe, it felt like but it didn't feel boring. It felt epic.
6. You'll see.
7. Yeah he still kinda does. As Harry Knowles says, he's a square.
8. Yes.
9. I'd say Davy Jones comes in well into the second act. About 45 minutes to an hour in.
10. 10 times of badass.
11. I'd give it a 9 or a 9.5.

How effective looks the final fight with Kraken?

How long it is?

Longer than all the action scenes in X-men 3.

And they don't suck like everything in X-men 3.

Glad to hear this.

Did you like Norrington as a pirate?

Wasn't the movie too long for you?

What's your take on Superman Returns and how does it stack up against Pirates 2?

Superman, to me, was a good movie, but it wasn't a fun movie. Like X3, it had a lot of good ideas that were never fleshed out or went half way. Still SR is better than X3. I hope that Pirates 2 will deliever.

I think they are both great movies. But Pirates 2 is the better movie. I'd say Superman is better than the first Pirates though.

There is much fun to be had in Pirates 2.
