Yes, yes yes and YES! I was wondering was I the only one who had that problem! I's obviously a fault with the DVD. The screen goes blocky in that scene doesn't it, although it only lasts a second or 2. It did annoy me initially but it's not a big scene and it only lasts a few seconds so I don't mind as much anymore. I bought 2 copies of DMC to see if it was just a problem with my first disc but it's obviously on all/most region 2 DMC DVDs.

ahh ok, why didn't you take the first copy back if it was faulty

didn't have the receipt and didn't know where it was bought.

There must be a batch of faulty DMC DVDs so. I wonder if it's region specific or if it's all over. Are you sure there's no distortion on your DVD during that scene, it's literally when the camera is focussed on Jack's compass in Elizabeth's hand and when Jack's head comes into shot the image goes blocky for 2 secs. It shouldn't have made it past quality control because other than that DMC is a great lookign DVD.

Have you considered that it might be your DVD player. Check it with another DVD player, because I have the Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition and when I watch it on my low-end DVD player it freezes for three minutes as the fellowship leace Rivendale if I put it in one of my other DVD players it works fine. It could just be your DVD player.

It's not my DVD player, that was the first thing I did. I checked it on the 2 other players in my house, same problem.

More then likely your store may have gotten a bad shipment and the flaw is in every single one.

Both of them were from different stores though and AVEIT is in the UK and he's had the same problem. I'm guessing the UK and Ireland might have gotten a bad shipment or something.

Nah, like I said, I don't really mind it anymore. It only lasts 2/3 secs and I don't wanna spend more money only for the same thing to happen again.

Orlando Bloom, 21st century swashbuckler"Pirates" star says he could handle himself in a sword fight.
By Mary McNamara, Times Staff Writer
March 30, 2007

He's often compared to a modern day Errol Flynn. After all, Orlando Bloom has the good looks and the swashbuckling credits: He's played the bow-and-arrow-carrying elf in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, he starred in the sandals-and-swords Crusades drama "Kingdom of Heaven," and he's done his share of sword fighting in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy.

Asked if he could, at this point, actually defend his life with a sword, Bloom laughed. "That's a good question," Bloom said during an interview after wrapping final shooting for Disney's latest installment in the series, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End."

"You know, I think I'd be all right, actually. I have good special awareness and I'm pretty comfortable with a sword. Of course, it would depend on my opponent."

I reckon he could too. LOTR had extensive sword training.

That's just mean. No on can beat a ninja, why do you think he's never been able to beat Jack?

Just a quick answer to whoever was asking about Sao Feng and being a pirate lord.... Here's the list of the nine Brethren pirate lords, as laid out in the AWE sticker book:

Captain Jack Sparrow, Pirate Lord of the Caribbean
Captain Barbossa, Pirate Lord of the Caspian Sea
Captain Sao Feng, Pirate Lord of the South China Sea
Captain Villanueva, Pirate Lord of the Adriatic Sea
Sri Sumbhajee Angria, Pirate Lord of the Indian Ocean
Mistress Ching, Pirate Lord of the Pacific Ocean
Capitain Chevalle, Pirate Lord of the Mediterranean Sea
Ammand the Corsair, Pirate lord of the Black Sea
Gentleman Jocard, Pirate Lord of the Atlantic Ocean

In the sticker book, there's no mention of Teague, but in all the script leaks, he's referred to as Captain Teague, Pirate Lord of Madagascar. It's quite possible that that has changed, but we do know that he plays an important role at the meeting of the Brethren at Shipwreck Cove.

Oh, and it's simply Captain Teague, not Teague Sparrow; Terry Rossio was *adamant* that we get his name right and that we not dwell on the theory of him being Jack's father.

Joy

I just noticed something.

In the first movie when they first get Elizabeth on the ship and she threatens to throw the gold overboard, why are they worried?

If it calls to them and since they can obviously walk on the ocean floor how hard can it be to go down and get it?
