PlayStation 4 System Software Update 3.00 “Kenshin” Launches On September 30. September 29, 2015 . 5:45am

The PlayStation 4′s system software update 3.00 “Kenshin” launches tomorrow on September 30, and it’ll bring several new features to the console.

Sony announced via the PlayStation.Blog that the PlayStation 4’s upcoming system software 3.00 “Kenshin” update will go live on September 30.

The 3.00 update (codename: Kenshin) will have the following new features:

Sharing video clips to Twitter: Now it’s easy to share video clips to Twitter directly from your PS4. You’ll see a new icon on the Upload Video Clip menu, nestled between Facebook and YouTube. Maximum video length is 10 seconds, though you’ll have the ability to trim longer clips. Don’t forget — you can double tap the Share button to start recording a video, and press it again to stop.

PlayStation Plus: We’ve made a dedicated section for PlayStation Plus, which you can access by clicking the big Plus icon on the top right corner of your PS4 home screen. Once there you can easily manage your membership, see the monthly free games to download, deals for PS Plus members, and all of the games you’ve redeemed through PS Plus on PS4.

YouTube live: You’ll see a new icon for YouTube on the Broadcast Gameplay Screen, accessible after hitting the Share button. Now you can live stream directly from your PS4 to YouTube. Livestreams will be viewable across YouTube.

PNG Screenshots: If you’d like your game screenshots to be in a higher quality format, you can now select PNG instead of JPEG. To access, press Share > Share Settings > Screenshot Settings > Image Format.

Events: A new hub for Events has been added to PS4, accessible from the home screen. This will give you an overview of activities taking place in the games you play most, as well as official broadcasts. For instance, here’s an in-game racing event taking place in Project Cars, which you can register for directly from the Events hub.

Improvements to Messages and Favorite Groups: We’ve improved Messages by making it easier to access groups of people you chat and play games with frequently. Once you’re added to or create a group, you’ll see the online status for friends, what games they are playing, and the option to message or chat in party all in one spot. When you add or create a new favorite group, they’ll appear in your Friends app under Favorite Groups for quick access. For example, you can see we have favorite groups for Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Destiny.

Communities: PS4 users will have the ability to create communities based around shared interests, like games, genres, and more. Communities include a message board with general discussion, screenshots shared by players, and the ability to join parties / games.

Stickers: From the PS4 system’s Messages app, you’ll see a new option for Stickers. The 3.00 update will contain stickers themed around Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Knack, LittleBigPlanet 3, Resogun, and more. Instead of typing out a message, just send a sticker — like Drake looking at a watch, asking you to wait a minute.”

Well, I stand corrected I guess. I had no idea Japan has gotten so many specialized consoles. I mean, most of them like kind of eh anyway, but still.
huh? i don't get it, what did you say to the contrary?
They're lucky they still get cross gen games.

oh I see. well it's mostly posted here and I didn't know about it. it can be posted in both places to make sure every one that needs to see it is aware. cause there some people that tend to stick only to certain threads and also it's a wish list thread so some people wouldn't have expected it there.

There's shouldn't be a problem with the video being in both places.

This time it was me who didn't know that was there.

but there's also some that miss's something some how.

you posted the article here which covers it, so the video doesn't need to be in both threads.

like I said I didn't know cause updates were always posted here I didn't have a "yo were posting the updates here in the thread That I recently created from nowon " from ya. if I had a pm from you I'd have done so.

your is a wish list also all I said was I didn't know and most people who would just look at the title and don't head there wouldn't know about the updates being there if they are the type to stay only on one thread it's like how there are people that do only one type of specific thing especially like only listen to the radio or my dad who's collect records and is into sound systems as his hobby there people that only choose movies as their entertainment etc.

so I'm saying it's like this. It wasn't done to step on your parade.

Besides you put up the video most people may like yours better.

hey man, all I said was that I posted a video in a different thread covering these things that you posted here...no need to make a fuss about it.

I wasn't making a real fuss really. I was just explaining my self . Let me know when you create a thread for those thing's or have decide to do something so I don't step on your toe's. I rather work with people then be in their way. I can't see everything I did say in the persona 5 thread I'd be posting later then usual so it's alot harder for me and even then there are still only some threads I see look into of big interest and certain ones I visit. I don't always go to every single one some of them are about interests that I'd be playing my self . kinda why you don't see me in call of duty thread or a GTA(the latter genre I'm burnt out on) And be sides that people like video's way better they get to see how it works.

you weren't in anybody's way, bro. and I think what you've been doing is fine. if you want to post this stuff in the wishlist thread that's fine too; you have the freedom to post it wherever you find it appropriate. don't get me wrong though, I understand what you're saying. I'd rather work with people than be in their way too

It's all good.

Ok I'm headed out but I'm leaving with this up as well

I do like the new PS+ area.

it's nice to have your subscription info as well as PS+ games and deals all in one place.

For those looking for a way to turn off the trophy screenshot feature there's now an option to do that. Just go to the Share page, press Options to go into Share settings, Screenshot Settings, then the option to turn that off is right in there

Anybody downloaded the PS Anniversary Theme? Man, it makes the noise when you would boot up the original Playstation console... brought back some great nostalgia.

i wish they'd let you change the background color to mix with the theme you have instead having one fixed with it. ugh

You can make achievement art your background I know, but I don't know if you can upload custom pics and set them as your background.

can you do it on xbone?

yes. on the X1, you can take any pic saved on a USB stick and set that as your background.

it's easy to do and it really boggles my mind why such a simple, basic feature has yet to be implemented on the PS4.

Super tempted, but I think I'm going to wait it out for something else down the line. Thanks for letting me, though.

honestly it feels like by the time they add all these basic features from the PS3 that people have been begging about, we will be gearing up for the PS5. We're approaching Year 3 of the PS4 and Sony has been way too slow with their updates
