I imagine you'll get a new Elder Scrolls announced next year, but probably not released until 2017. But I could certainly see Skyrim getting an update circa 2016.

All I will say that I am an avid Playstation fan and will continue to support them, but the addition of backwards compatibility to Xbox One has guaranteed I will be buying one in the coming months base one the fact alone.
I wasn't even thinking about getting an Xbox One for a few years until that announcement.
Why does anyone care about backwards compatibility.
Fallout 4 just got announced. They arent announcing the next ES game next year and it definitely wont come in 2017. Are you forgetting how big and ambitious those games are? Bethesda probably wont start active development on it till next year, after F4 has dropped.
Why does anyone care about backwards compatibility. Usually the old games look bad on the new systems in comparison, plus you should always keep your old system anyways; considering you usually can't get much for them...
New system, new games, better graphics, and such.
It is so funny, everything MS said the XBONE was't going to do, in less than 2 years has retracted on. I'd rather a company stand y their decisions, than backdown to every fanboy whine; ala Connect is necessary/never cheaper than $450/no backwards compatibility/et cetera.
Fallout 4 is practically done. It comes out in November. They're probably building the next Elder Scrolls on the foundation they made for Fallout 4.
They crapped out that online game. I don't see it that unlikely.
A teaser in 2016, and what we had now for Fallout 4 in 2017. Maybe a little quick, but hardly impossible.

yeah. just like when the Ps3 slim first came out in 2009, mS said they had no plans for a slim/redesigned 360.when he says "I won't say never" that's basically leaving the door open right there.
Sony may publicly say they have no plans for BC, but you can bet behind the scenes they are looking at ways to make it happen.
if it proves to be successful with MS and leads to a boost in sales for the X1, and if PS4 owners stay vocal and keep at them, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony makes it happen to the PS4.
that being said, I'd rather they devote their resources to improving/redesigning the current UI just like the X1 UI will be getting a makeover.
...but mS themselves came out with the halo collection and they're going to release GoW UE...It was a jab at Sony when they said "you won't have to pay for games you already own again".

yeah, with ESO and Fallout 4, Bethesda probably didn't want to detract from those games with a Skyrim remaster or ES 6 announcement.

but like t crack said, it probably won't be Ps3 emulation but Ps1/2. and I dunno how many people still care about playing those games...but mS themselves came out with the halo collection and they're going to release GoW UE...
I mean, sony may be doing way more remasters than them but they're guilty of this stuff too.
so do I (digimon world 2, tekken 3 & spyro games), but we're not representations of the vast majority. I would love it, but it wouldn't have the same impact as what mS is doing. not unless they announce BC with Ps3 games.I do. I playthrough MGS1 every so often (and always before a new release), so Id welcome it. SOTN also happens to be my favorite game and I go through that every couple of years as well
