but if newer AAA titles that take advantage of the extra power can NOT be played on the current model, THEN there will be a problem. in that case, you will feel the need to upgrade to continue experiencing the best the PS4 can offer.
it will also depend on the price of the new console. will it be in the $400-$500 range? Will it be substantially greater than $500?
and what trade in incentives will they offer for current owners?
if we can upgrade for effectively $200-$250 by trading in our current PS4, then it might not be so bad.
About the price range and the upgrade thing I wonder if sony would also put a bigger hard drive in it to. That would kind of be another reason to but one because it would also be saving some money in a way not having to buy a new hard drive later if say it had a 1TB or 2 TB hard drive or something.
