The Official Pull List Discussion thread

I dropped that title a while back. Dont care for it.

Did you at least stick around for the 100th issue? That one was very good.

I dont remember, I dropped it around the time Captain Marvel became "Photon" and "died"

Okay so I dropped some stuff today, now the list looks like this:

Ongoings:
Captain America
Daredevil
Incredible Hulk
Iron Man
Moon Knight
New Avengers

Minis:
Justice
Civil War

Titles I'm adding for sure which are sure to be kickass:
Justice League of America
Justice Society of America
Punisher War Journal
Immortal Iron Fist

Iron Man almost got the boot, but the writing team can do no wrong right now,and they really have a great grasp of Tony and the dialogue in that book.

Detective Comics has had alot of good buzz lately, but I think this baby will be a better package in trade.Plus,my store didn't have 822.

The reason I'm cutting back is to get some quality trades and stories, while only following monthlies which are worth it.

Detective Comics are all stand alones, you literally can pick it up at any point.

I will be adding Astonishing X-Men and Daredevil once the new arcs start.

Yea I heard.Still, should be a nice read in trade.Plus I don't want to go through the trouble of finding 822.

Well, you probably missed it then, because in that one, he definitely died this time as Zemo used the moonstones and teleported Photon's body parts into different dimensions.

I remember I started this thread to cut back since I was poor. Recently I got a 75 cent raise, and ive added 6 more titles. In other words, im still poor.

I think Joss is off after this one, but I'm not to sure.

Did anyone get FF 538??I dropped FF and didn't pick this up.I heard it was pretty much a repeat of ASM 534 without the Cap and Spidey fight.

Yeah it recapped it. And showed some new things. The bulk of the issue though was centered around Ben and on the last three pages he's yelling at both sides. A kid got killed because of the fighting, and he basically says screw your war, I'm gone.

He yelled at Cap.:)

Well, it wasn't so much a repeat, but the same situation only from the Things perspective. I mean, what we saw in ASM, it looked like Thing had gone Anti-Reg, but that wasn't the case. What really went down was that the whole thing was a set up by the Thinker and Puppet Master to take advantage of the situation and kill a bunch of heroes all at once. Mind controlled Yancy Streeter set up the whole thing with the path being blocked sending the convoy down Yancy Street where they were ambushed by a mob of people throwing s**t. The Mind Controlled Yancy Streeter then produced a bomb and was gonna blow as many people up as possible. The leader of the Yancy Street gang (I guess he was, he seemed to be giving all the orders.) managed to push him to the ground but the bomb was already set. Thing picks up one of the empty convoy trucks, and smothers most of the explosion, but not enough to stop the Yancy Street gang leader from getting some shrapnel in the gut and died. Thing saw his body, was pissed. He did this long lecture to all of them about how stupid it was to be fighting like this and how the people were the only ones that were gonna pay the price. Then he said, said he wasn't gonna deal with this crap anymore and said he was gonna leave the country.

Worth it or nah?

I'm gonna go with nah. Dont get me wrong, it was solid and a good read. But not must have IMO.

Especially with your prices.:(

I think he said he's doing one more arc after this one, but I'm guessing it won't start till around 2007...(now referring to hippie_hunter) you might be better off looking for the last 3 issues of this arc and continuing from there.

The Knaufs have been stellar on Iron Man.The pacing is like that of a tv show(they're tv writers) and the dialogue is crisp. They got a really good grasp of Tony' s character as well.

Planet Hulk can't get enough praise.Pak's writing has been great since the start.

I am debating whether or not to get Mighty Avengers. The art is good. It is bringing members to the Avengers that I want as Avengers such as Hulk, Wasp, Black Widow, Wonder Man, Ms. Marvel, etc. back to the Avengers. But it is being written by Bendis who is already writing New Avengers (which I don't like) and the sole purpose of this book was just simply to give Bendis another book and make money as a result.

Right now is the perfect time to start with Batman. The new arc has just started.

I hate them

They smell bad, they're lazy, they won't get a haircut, they wear tie-die, they're a bunch of Greenpeace ******s, they protest just to protest, they smoke too much pot, they look dirty, they're too much into the free love, and so much more.

The only thing I hate more than hippies is...the Grimace
