WTF is all this **** about Airbending?

Apparently the final level of Airbending is the Kamehameha... They actually do a lot of unnecessary motions like you'd see them in the Airbender cartoon.

I have seen the film, if you guys have been following the film since production, liked most of what you've seen, and accepted all the changes. Like me, you will absolutely enjoy this film. I Must say the most disappointing part of the film is the last 10 minutes. It did seem rushed, with plenty of cuts. I'm hopeful this can be fixed with an extended version of the film. That said, this is a very fun flick, if you haven't liked the clips you've seen so far, you will not like this film. But for guys like me, need not to worry. Before viewing the film, i read some of the reviews, it was very disappointing to hear, but i ignored it and judged for myself. It could have been a lot better. But, for what it is, its an entertaining film. Don't read much into reviews, form you're own opinion.

7/10.

That truly sucks.

its nice to see that there is a positive review.

but with all due respect this could have been written by a guy who has not seen the movie. he basicly said ''i like the movie''

you're in Asia, chelo? can we expect a review from you soon?

I might watch this later this week considering the CAM is out now. I'm not wasting cash on it when its officially out.

I just saw the movie thru youtube (no, i won't link it so don't even bother personal messaging me). Now i'm a long-time die hard DB, DBZ and even DBGT Fan since a kid, so i had some ridicilous nerd rages and disappointments, it doesn't take more than 3-5 minutes to the movie to see a ridicilous scene of High School Goku dreaming of Chi Chi, but then again it added a campy element. :p Gohan's death was ridicilous because Piccolo destroys the house (and thus he gets crushed) but Goku runs to the house and pulls him out there like hes undamaged, Oh but the slow motions and fightning seem fairly decent, its not as detailed or awesome-slow-motion as Zack Snyder does it, but its not horrible atleast. Bulma was rather cool in my eyes, but Chi Chi was just meh. :(

Master Roshi is actually pretty cool, he has his pervy elements like grabbing Buma's ass and having bikini magazines, but he is more of an honorable mentor here than an old pervert. >:3 But really my biggest problem is that Oozaru form for Goku isn't a giant ape, its just a gorilla with a more monkey structured head, he isn't a giant ape. :/

Last part of the movie wasnt shown on youtube but i've oinly heard good things about the last fight, but that definatly can't save the movie. 5/10 (the 5 comes from the jokes and how bad this is)

I just saw most of it on Youtube, except for the final battle which was taken down. Some thoughts:

-Seeing Goku portrayed as a lovesick angsty teenager made me die a little inside. This isn't Goku. I don't care what they call him.

-The film doesn't explain anything. They don't show how Piccolo escaped or explain what Piccolo is. Goku knows about the Nameks but he doesn't say anything about them except that his grandpa told him that they tried to destroy the world 2000 years ago. Goku being Piccolo's servant doesn't even make any sense as that would make Goku 2000 years old but in the flashback they show Goku being found by Gohan as a baby. Was it another Oozaru? What happened to that one? How did Piccolo know Goku's past then if Goku was a newcomer and Piccolo was locked up? This film has a simplified plot but they can't even explain it properly?

-The movie is horribly paced and edited.

-None of the characters have any depth. As I was watching the movie I got bored and I let my mind wander. I started wondering about Mai and how she factors in with Piccolo and why she's helping him. I knew I would never find out.
The movie is just awful. The sad thing is this film showed me how much potential a good Dragonball film might have, but this film will probably bury any chance of such a movie being made.

I also watched the movie on YT (I saw the whole thing though, but now one part appears to have been taken down)

It was... interesting. It wasn't AS bad as I thought it would be... But I pressed play thinking 'Well, get ready for a **** ride'... I'd say it was more of a crap ride.

I think there were several problems with the movie. NONE of the characters acted like their original selves. Chi Chi was a flirty skank, Goku was a lovestruck teenager who wanted to be cool, Bulma was a huge ***** with zero spunk and a ***** for her guns, and Yamcha was just irritating. Piccolo was hardly on the screen.

It felt like a presentation some company might have made to pitch a TV show. I feel like that's the best description of this.... travesty. Every scene was short, nothing was explained, and characters (Aka Bulma and Yamcha) fell in love within MINUTES. If someone had shown me that without me knowing about the movie and said 'It's a clip montage from a TV show!' and I might have bought it. Every single part of it was incomplete. Nothing fit together. Bulma runs into Chi Chi coming out of Goku's room and seems to know Chi Chi without them having been introduced(as far as I can remember. Everything went so fast.

The fight scenes were CHEAP. It was like Power Rangers. Piccolo makes those assassin things in his lair and then BOOM they attack. The ''attack'' was nothing more then a waste of time. And wait, that entire thing sounds EXACTLY LIKE POWER RANGERS.

What was with this 'air bending' crap. Did the writers get wasted before they did this and confuse DB and Avatar? What the HELL. And I'm not even going to comment on the 'bring Goku back to life with Kamehamaha' incident, especially the corny visit to the afterlife. Almost as corny as Goku's stupid 'flashforwards' every time he touched a Dragonball.

The final battle is still as ****** as ever. "DRAAAAAAGONNNNNN". Nuff said. :csad:

The only scene that felt REMOTELY like Dragonball was the scene where Goku was dodging the attacks from the bullies at the party (Not that Goku would ever be at a party) That was the only scene that he really acted like Goku for me.

To sum it up, because I really don't want to go on anymore: Cheap. Everything about it was cheap. 4/10

Good to know I wasn't the only one to find the Fu Lum Assassin scenes incredibly underwhelming (lighting and choreography problems).

What did you think of the scene in which Goku is standing using his hands while "training" with Roshi on Bulma's motorbike right before they fall into Yamcha's "trap"?

For me it was surreally bad and awkwardly shot.

Yeah, those assassins were basically just another way to throw away money I guess?

I thought that scene you're talking about was really stupid. It looked really fake, and even when they fall into the trap theres issues. Why does Bulma fall in like, 30 seconds after them? Am I missing something? I mean, Roshi had enough time to STAND UP and catch her.... did she jump in?

Also, why did Chi Chi aka the skank who secretly fights, have a better grasp of Ki then Goku?

Because the movie is full of plot holes and doesn't explain anything about it's established universe properly.

So many questions left unanswered. It wasn't even explained as to how Piccolo released himself from the containment jar. Why does Mai even serve Piccolo? What incites the bullies to tease Chatwin when Weaver seems like a more appropriate target? Questions that will probably never be answered because the script was convoluted, unimaginative , and full of excessively idiotic dialogue.

I was wondering where the hell Mai came from as well

I just watched this movie, and after defending it for more than a year I feel embarrased and humiliated. It sucks, its bad, I mean BAD with capital bolded letters.

From a fan point of view, from 0 to 10. I give it 0.
From a normal point of view, I give it 0.5 (less than 1).

You can see the movie is rushed. The ending sucks, everything sucks in this movie. Oozaru is a joke and the final battle is short, stupid, and sucks. The story sucks too.

What a waste of my time. Spending the last 15 months, searching every week for news about this atrocity.

Its obvious this thing (I dont even want to call this thing a movie) was rushed and the script and direction was bad.

I felt humiliated and sad while watching this crap. At some points I was laughing at this movie because I couldnt believe what I was watching. I cant believe Fox did this to our Dragonball. Oh man.

Those still defending this thing are in denial. Im sorry but this thing cant be defended.

Dragonball Reborn? You got to be kidding me. I hope this thing flops and gets buried 10 meters underground. This movie should have never been made.

This is a sad moment for me guys, please dont joke about it. Im being honest about this crappy movie.

It was just about how I expected it to be. A fun popcorn flick. Not the worst film ever, but obviously not the best. My main critique is that it is obvious so much was cut. I hope there is a directors cut.

Special Effects - 8/10
Acting - 7/10
Score - 8/10
Pacing - 5/10
Action - 6/10

Overall I'd give it 7/10.

The last fight was a joke, weak and short. If you need to see it PM me. This movie isnt worth a penny.

I found the movie, but I'll give my review later. I'm not in the mood to watch it right now.

I just watched it and it wasn't that bad. It had some cheezy parts, as I would expect that from Dragonball, but it could have been much worse. I would hope that if there is a sequel, they take it a bit more seriously. Alot is riding on this film.

I find it weird people are calling it a fun popcorn flick. I don't think it was even that. A popcorn flick at least has some good action and a straightforward plot. I can't imagine most people I know enjoying this, fan of Dragon Ball or not. I actually agree with the people who questioned what exactly the audience for this film is.
