okay thats your opinion...im gonna sit back and love DBE thank you very much

Saying you're gonna love it is just as ignorant as saying you're gonna hate it without actually having seen it.

Also, regardless of the fact that you like it or find it entertaining. IT IS A BAD MOVIE.

Thats not an opinion.

From a technical, directorial, acting, and writing standpoint. IT IS POORLY MADE. If and when you see it, i don't care that you like it or not, but you can't argue the fact that it's a BAD MOVIE.

Hey everyone. I just watched this movie online. Absolutely terrible, not that that is a surprise. Maybe if they bothered to even explain the crappy plot lines they threw together, despite them being nothing like the manga, it could've been at least a better, if still not faithful, movie. Ah well. Huge missed opportunity.

Apparently I voted a ten though. Don't know why that would even happen? Guess I'll be laughed off of the SHH. ;) I don't know If I clicked it not knowing or what but it is really really embarrassing.
and how long was it?
i only found a 70 minutes copy...but it was supposed to be 89 minutes long:csad:..... PM me, please..along with the link..

It was the 70 minute version starting with Goku trying to move a tree (or something). Sorry.

And if you watch it for free, then that makes you a thief. Do you actually believe that is the moral high ground?
oh god no, I never said not paying for it was right. I was just saying it sends a message.
it amazes me how well you know me....
I wasn't talking about you chuck I was talking about LB. My that is one ego you got

I don't think he likes it. I'd be surprised if any of the cast likes it.

After seeing the movie you will not feel the same way.

Even with whatever is missing... a few minutes here and there, that cannot salvage what the did to the story, the characters, and the action that made dragonball what it is. The dialogue is laughably bad, there are no real legit fight scenes, and when they get into their scuffles, the choreography is atrocious. Theres never a looming sense of danger, and the movie is stricken with plot holes everywhere.

I love watching all movies good and bad. I can appreciate bad movies for their entertainment value, or i can always find something to like about it at least to make me want to defend it. Spiderman 3 and X-men 3 for example...Everyone and their momma hates those movies, but I enjoy them because they do have redeeming qualities where i can set aside my opinion as to how poorly executed some things were with those films.

But just like legend of Chun Li, there is no excuse for filmmakers to mess up this bad... They cant honestly look at the finished product and go...wow man im proud of this and people are going to love it. They must be paying the cast stupid amounts to smile through their teeth and say they like this movie during interviews. No one can honestly be proud of a complete mess. Then again, I've taken some deisel Craps in my day that I've been quite proud of.
I totally agree.

I was gonna go to the theater with my missus to see this, cos we haven't been since "Revenge of the Sith" (long time i know) but DB is something i've loved for years, i loved all the clips i'd seen, even though a lot didn't, the trouble is theses clips that look good are then surrounded with a load of incomprehensible tacky rushed crap.

Oh BTW i will no longer be going with my missus to see DB, instead i told her we'll wait for TF - ROTF, at least the FX will be good.

Yes i agree i think whoever shot the movie was to blame for some of the **** editing.

But i still don't think the site of Carey Fuller the "baddest Mutha****a" in school actually getting out of his car in some ******** High-school scene that had no relevance or purpose whatsoever, would change my opinion of this cack film.

I don't know what FOX studios is playing at?

First Street Fighter now this?

Stick to Warner!

I wash my hands with fox I ain't gonna watch Wolverine either because I know they're gonna ruin my character!

so that's what they actually shown to the Japanese audience? How f rude!:cmad: it's not fair

Its not, the intro was leaked on youtube but it was removed from youtube. The movie DOES NOT open like my friend. There is a little intro showing Piccolo invading the earth and the monks using the ma fu ba on him. Then we see Goku and Gohan have a little fighting match.

Believe it. There are a lot of very intelligent people on this forum who had hope. And I'm sure they might be offended by your opinion.

I'm so sorry for them... I know we can't all have the same gifts and all and I'm sorry for forgetting that. I just know that I know a good movie when I see it and Ironically critics 90% of the time agree wit me. 10% is when the movie is too elevated for the regular folk that they call the movie "preachy", Network, Matrix, Equilibrium, Happening...etc. I am not trying to be cocky or arrogant. facts are just facts.

I said watchmen will do what it did. Batman surpassed my expectations. Spider man movies I said will be perceived less and less in quality as time passes and even fans who were obsessed then are understanding that now. Even X men is holding too well with time as I said. I predicted Dragon Ball would suck based on statistics of FOX, American arrogance when adapting foreign material, The mundane and less than average director's filmography, and the cast. I knew it would be an atrocity like many others and just can't see what exactly gave ANYONE hope? all the pics were off, clips, trailers, and practically EVERYTHING before it came out sounded suspect so how do you hve hope in such? Like having hope in survival when several docs tell you that you have aids, cancer, ebola, and leprosy all at once. Just know near death is eminent right? so how did people have hope?

i know that you didnt want to insult anyone. sometimes we use extreme examples to show how bad a movie is.

people who watched DB:E on the computer did not steal the movie.

Unless they paid for it, then the law says otherwise. Watching an illegal copy of the movie on the internet is stealing, and THAT IS WHAT THE LAW SAYS. It does not matter if no physical property was stolen, because they are stealing INTELLECTUAL property. Fox made the movie, and they offered you the service of being able to view it for money. When you view it outside of the legal means, you are stealing the service without compensating the person(s) providing it. You cannot refute the law simply by saying "nuh-uh, it doesn't count." Unless there's a change in copyright law, then the people who watch this movie on the internet for free are thieves.

Yes, it is stealing. No one should claim the moral high ground in these instances.

Still, most people don't really care. It's like a world where people could replicate cars just by touching them. The car companies would be pissed and tell people they're thieves, but when it's just that easy no one would care enough to stop. This movie was on youtube, for christ's sake. You have to not use the internet at all to not be able to find it. How much is preventing someone from just clicking that link to see the entire movie?

It's not the same thing as breaking into Walmart by a long shot, but yeah it is still stealing.

i wish they made it illegal to take beloved material and massacre it.

You assume too much! Im going to see this movie. You guys are all reviewing a movie that you saw online, not only that but it wasnt the whole thing.

on top of that, perhaps you would want to wait for the American version because the movie is actually 1 hr 40 mins. They had to cut the movie down to fit the PG movie rating in Asia. I saw the bootleg version too, but im not saying anything, because i still have to see the whole thing, unlike most of you who think thats it. So say what you want, you have your opinion, and i have mine...and neither one will stop anyone from liking the movie.

The 100 minutes thing is not true. And even if it was true it wont help this movie. Trust me. You will agree with all of us after you see it.

Now of all the things that Fox got gone wrong I can't believe that the film makers couldn't make one logical decision correct. This is when Goku transforms into Oozaru, the gi is open so you can see Oozaru's chest but when he changes back into Goku then the gi is all closed up with his belt magically back in place.

it shows you just how thoroughly (er...rather carelessly) they thought everything through. i also like how Goku seems to be very novice at the beginning of the movie, but running around with a heavy bag on his back and practicing a little air bending automatically gives him the arsenal to defeat an alien who seemingly has enough force powers to effortlessly crumble Gohan's house.

where were those powers when he was fighting Goku?

I am watching the movie right now, and I got to say that the high school part is the best so far...

there were many threads about bootlegs.

and i always say the same. blocbusters are made to make tons of money. thats their purpose. a studio makes lets say 10-20 movies. not all of them are blockbusters. some are small movies that have focus only on acting and a complex story. those movies bomb. they dont make a profit. so how does then a studio make money? with blockbusters. their purpose is to make money.
we have bootlegs for years now. and yet ......LOTR,TF,IM,300,TDK(over 500 million) made a lot of money. how come? i will tell you how come. those are movies for the masses and the masses got what they wanted. an entertainig movie.
FOX deserves bootlegs. because they make bad moies . they dont invest time.they dotn spend money for a good budget. everythign needs ot be fast, cheap and they hire actors that are miscast. they htreat directors like s... . they let the director film a long movie and then they force them to cut it down. that way the whole movie loses the flow, pacing and character development.

if someone would sell s... i dont think that the police would be mad if you wouldnt pay for it.

Well said man.

Lol the question is, what kind of movie do YOU think it is?

you are assuming all these things based on reviews of a bootleg version of a movie that is missing chunks of it.
You havent seen the american version or the whole thing for that matter.
Ive always been a dragonball fan and i know i will love DBE. dont kill it for those who feel the same way.

The bootleg version didnt miss much. At most 10 minutes and like 6 of them was the beginning (Intro + Gohan vs Goku fight) which everyone has seen already in the clips. Theres nothing missing in the bootleg version that can change the crappiness of this movie.

Theres no such a thing as a 100 minutes movie. Thats a lie. Stop believing in it. And like I said, if there were 10 more minutes it wont save this movie for the crap it turned out to be.

Wow, well that's 80+ minutes of my life I won't get back.

The annoying thing is fans of the Anime will see greater potential locked inside a laughable film. The movie had no momentum whatsoever. There were a few sparse positives, but the finale sentenced the film to a point beyond self-redemption.

2/10

I suspect there is a longer cut (usually there is with Fox films), but I very much doubt that it gets aired in American theatres. Not that I waste much time stressing about it. This film is flawed at a much deeper level than that. An extra hour wouldn't save this turkey.
