Obi Wan & Qui Gon vs Darth Maul...that scene ALONE is better than all of DB:E.

Completely agreed. That scene was just the epitome of epic. With the Duel of the Fates in the background it was just, epic.

I just didn't get any sense of epicness in this movie ATALL. The fights were mediocre at best, well, compared to the movies these days. The acting was wooden and hammy, along with the actual script.

the phantom menace wasn't BAD. disappointing sure but not straight bad. It didn't completely piss off everyone in the fan base and Darth Maul is still one of the best Sith. Attack of the Clones is far worse in my book

Attack of the Clones is tripe IMO.

And yea Darth Maul is still a frickin bad ass. I used to love playing as him in Battlefront 2.

From "Hey guys what did you think about dragonball Evolution" to "I play Battlefront 2" in only 33 pages.

The worst star wars film was Attack of the Clones, I HATE that movie with a passion. phantom menace is an OK movie and I liked Revenge of the Sith.

And yeah I love to play as Darth Maul in Battlefront 2 also:hehe:

Okay, I dare people to rent or buy the movie or download it or whatever. They'll see it's a waste of time.

you're on drugs. bad ones.

Casshern was GREAT. Was it exactly like the anime? no. but its stylized look and feel gave us something we don't see in fantasy movies and its what is needed, extreme action and well balanced thought and emotion.

If all you want is **** blowing up on screen then its not the movie for you. Going into ANY movie that you don't know what to expect and expecting something else is foolish.

Just to finish with the comparison of this 2 movies, is maybe that expectations on both were high, more on Phantom menace, but they keep everything on secret until the premier, the DBE however, has to much spoiler, even on book, and it ended both movies been disapointed, IMO
Check this review of Phantom menace, this explain why i think this movie and DBE are on the same level at least

Ok no more of this comparison, i find DBE music epic, i like the effects too, and i am just judging from the bootleg version of 70 minutes

DB:E simply doesn't have any of the quality that Phantom Menace has. if you want to talk about how SW:PM had high expectations and fumbled that ball, that's one thing but the effects and the fighting were all top notch....which is more than i can say about DB:E. even the wooden acting from PM is better than the wooden acting in DB:E. Phantom Menace was definitely a disappointment, but by no means is it anywhere near as lame as DB:E.

that's the last thing i'll say about Phantom Menace. sorry mods.

It was for me.

On topic
Then what is you apreciation about DBE effects, you live in U.S.A, right? so you have not see it in cinema, right?

I think is ok, considering that i have an old laptop and is not very clear what i see. i imaging is better on cinemas, not that only that make the movie better, but is not bad either

i've seen most of the movie and what i've seen turned out to be either EXACTLY or WORSE than what i've been expecting since they announced Wong as director. 20 minutes of missing footage (most likely the less important parts of the movie) isn't going to change that.

Watch the f'n movie first damnit!

You can't keep pulling out this lame excuse anymore when most people have seen it and placed their votes. We've seen the pics, waited for the trailer and seen the film..its still garbage.

Unless there is 20 minutes of sitting with the director talking about his thought process in if he couldn't make a good Dragon Ball movie he would make the worst one ever. If the movie had that in the beginning then I would vote this literally a ten and mean it.

i'd vote this movie a 10 if the extra 20 minutes of footage was shown at the end and happened to consist of a bunch of young DB fans (children) kicking and punching a tied up Tom Rothman and James Wong with Justin Chatwin running around like he does in his goofy videos holding a sign saying "Worst Goku EVAR" and Emmy Rossum and Jamie Chung dance around half naked while Chow Yun Fat chases them with his hands out in a groping manner.

if that showed that, then i'd give this movie a 10 straight up. in fact, i might even pay to see that.

This thread is kind of pointless. 90% of the people here set themselves up to hate this no matter the quality. It's called a self fulfilling prophecy. I thought it looked horrible, but still watched it without a preconcieved notion, and guess what? I loved it! And I am as big a BD/Z fan as you can find. It is different in many yes, but it is the same in many ways. And truly captures the essence of DB is supposed to be. The fights were good, they weren't as epic as say... DBZ fights, but this is not supposed to be DBZ yet, this is DB. And as Db it did great. Think of it like marvel's "Ultimate" series and just enjoy the movie.

i watched the movie.
i am shocked. i can not writte the whole review. i am shocked.

is this an adaptation? i am asking you this because you wrotte :

''they weren't as epic as say... DBZ fights, but this is not supposed to be DBZ yet, this is DB''

because in an adaptation it doesnt matter if it is DB or DBZ. this story is a combination of almost everything. so if you do it why not make DBZ fighting?

also one thing to account is that a lot of the people on here not supporting it were telling me a while ago to give it a chance. it is not like 90% have an agenda to bring down the film. Except me because I hate everything

review of the final fight between piccolo and goku

i am not counting bulma, yamcha, mai and roshi. only goku and piccolo. ok so here it goes. i have today to much time so i looked at the running time of the fight. i say 2 seconds plus or 2 seconds minus.

the whole fight between goku and piccolo is 1 MINUTE and 48 SECONDS.
-KI shooting was 22 seconds
-jumping together plus punching was something like 18 seconds
-the big camera pan plus the monologe from goku 42 seconds( i was actually suprised that FOX spend 42 seconds on this)
-kamehameha (with the kamehameha loading up) against piccolos red KI is 26 seconds.

so all together this is 1 minute and 48 seconds . congratulations to FOX.

number of punches
-piccolo : 4(including with the last one )
-goku :2(including with the last one)

number of kicks
-piccolo : 0 (lets not forget that this is a fight and its DB)
-goku: 0 (lets not forget that this is a fight and its DB)

special moves
-piccolo : jumping and landing on the ground
-goku : backflip (he did a backflip when piccolo was shooting KI blasts).

IMO a very bad fight.. and lets remember that this is not a low budget movie. the budget is higher then 50 millions. ok i will also mention the shootign between mai and bulma. it was what it was. fill scenes to make it longer.

i wasnt watching the official US theatrical version. so the fight could be longer. i am only talking about what i saw. so what i will now say will maybe not be true.

if i saw what i think i saw then FOX is very cheap. they used the shot of goku using hes KI two times. they mirrored teh shot. so once he is on the left and the other time on the right

the editing is so bad and so fast that it didnt make sense a lot of times.
in one shot roshi is walking with the mafuba jar. then in the next shot he is already in the middle of the mafuba.

ohhh
in the last scene with chi chi. has anyone noticed something about gokus suit? it is a faithfull suit only the colors are switched.
but you know whats the best part? it looks like he has boots on and pants under the boots. like in the cartoon.
you ask yourself why didnt they use this in the movie? why in gods nae did he wear a thick GI suit that made it look like he has women boobs?
the outfit that he has in the final minute looks fantastic. its basicly the gogeta suit.

yes i knwo what you are asking yourself now. why did he have padding under the GI suit when we had shots of him with tight shirts. i will tell you why. because they are stupid. tehy show him with shirts through the movie. so we know that he doesnt have huge shoulders.
