they mention that dude playing oozaru, must be earlier scene in the movie, if that is missing from footage we saw then there must be more as well, we will see tho.
but we all know that the leaked video doesnt have the beginning.

the question is if the movie is 1 hour and 4 0minutes.

Well the Variety Critic is positive, and from a top critic

Ya it is positive, im not trying to post it to say see i told ya it was good but im just pointing out that a decent critic says its was good at least, take it for what its worth.

i felt that we were missing footage anyway at the beginning, if that is the case and they show "oozaru" or at least the guy who plays him doesnt that maybe say they give a little more insight of how piccolo was released/captured.

The review actually says it is 85 minutes so no there are no extra scenes.

Is Just mean that we have diferent points of view, and that at least some that are not so attach to this movie or to DB could enjoy it, at least this top critic did, he is not saying is a masterpiece, but he like it to put a fresh tomatoe comment, is also sure that he really saw the movie, not the bootleg version.

all in all from watching a crappy bootleg version it wasnt a bad movie at all, was it epic or even good movie in terms of DB? Hell no, but none the less it was still a decent movie. I agree mostly with what the critic had to say

The missing 15 minutes is from the beginning with the grandpa and goku fight and piccolo's capture.

The positive review you even posted had 85 minutes runtime on it. So either he is wrong and the review is not accurate or he is right and we can bury this stupid 100 minute rumour for good.

No we don't.
Its a false rumour. The reviews say it (both of them on rotten tomatoes) and it has been established it is 85 minutes in the UK, Ireland, South Korea, Japan and China. Its 85 minutes so lets drop it. If it is not than you will have to disregard that review.

ok then its false. lol

I saw this .... terrible.. Growing up as a fan, i'd rush home after school and look forward to watching dragon ball, amazing series, and this movie took a giant **** on that.

First the script was rushed, and bland, it was dreadful. The dialogue was crap. And what's with goku being this emo high school kid, that's not goku...and the love story chi chi, dreadful. There was no emotion there. The ending was soooo friggin preditable. They made so many changes, but the changes didn't make the movie better, majority of the changes made the movie worse. The characters excpet maybe gohan, didn't relfect the orignal characters visually and personally.

And the acting, my god was it terrible. TERRIBLE. Maybe the actors just didn't have much to work with having rushed lines that made no development in their characters. There was no character development in this movie. There's no development of Goku's history, excpet may 15 seconds with piccollo saying "oh yea, you're ozaru, you came from another palnet, you're not human...blah blah blah"...15-30 seconds...wtf. There's no development of any of the characters. It was just random characters meeting up in random situations and joining together, that's it. The comdey was horrble, the series had good comedy, cheesy but good, this was crap.

I thought it was gonna be crap and it was. ussually when I end up thinking a movie is crap just before I see, I'm surprised, but not this one.

I give this 3/10... just because people worked hard on it, that's it. Everything about this movie was crap.

gokus birthday is on the day when he goes to school,to chichi's party and when gohans dies.
in the school the teacher says that in 2 weeks the eclipse will happen. the next day goku meets bulma. so 13 days left. when bulma and goku are in Roshi's house Roshi says in 7 days the eclipse will happen.
goku and bulma traveled and searched for Roshi 6 days?

this is how FOX deletes and edits their movie :o

and now u do. My bro was so appalled with the beginning uncle to high school scenes that he said skip to a goku fight and as far as I recall he only had ONE!!!! LOL the last scene with the ape man. I showed him and he didn't just stop the movie, but he closed the program that was playing it altogether. He then stared at me like he wanted to punch me for even showing him. I said...I'm only the messenger...

this movie is the laziest piece of **** across the board.

Acting, effects, cinematography, music, casting, choreography, costumes, sets, writing, directing, editting...ALL ****!!!!!!!!!

It's a FOX movie...reviewers will be paid now since all the other non sell out journalists have told the truth about this atrocity. I refuse to believe that any positive review for this is a genuine one. You have to be paid to say anything good about this movie...you just have to be.

what was a little strange was that he aid that a lot of fans would enjoy it.
which doesnt make sense since fans are the ones who first hate a movie that has a lot of changes.

so because of that it looks to me like he was paid.

Oh gimme a break, really reaching there with that one. Seriously Fox went outta there way to pay someone from Variety to give it a good review, god cant let the movie get any positive feedback can ya? What next Fox is gonna pay to give them an Oscar for the flick,:whatever:

Weak story hampers action-filled flick.

If you were to take into account the arbitrary yet predictable method the MPAA comes to its ratings, you begin to understand studios actively seek certain ratings. Zach Snyder was recently accused of ratcheting up the sex and violence of Watchmen in order to fulfill the R rating, which is probably true. Ratings can be a valuable marketing device.

So when you realize that Dragonball Evolution received a PG rating, you immediately know this is a film targeted toward children. Yet, keeping this in mind still does not protect the film from presenting a weak story that jumps from plot point to plot point with leaps of logic and unbelievable chemistry between the characters.

Goku is a high school student who is trained by his grandfather, Gohan, to be a great warrior. He enhances his chi, which allows him to move faster than any regular person and create exploding balls of energy. Yet, when Gohan is killed by Piccolo, the main antagonist, Goku, along with a girl he met at his ruined home, Bulma, go on a journey to seek Master Roshi and the Dragonballs.

The film is filled with a lot of action and well-choreographed fight scenes. It also has pretty CGI that ratchet up the production value noticeably.

Yet, its story is very weak. Characters meet and immediately become best friends, lead character Goku comes to realizations out of the blue and the acting is lacking. And while it has some of the feeling of the source material, it lacks all of its fun and good nature, which is seen sparingly in Chow Yun Fat's portrayal of Master Roshi. In fact, fans of the original show will be left wanting, since it is more reincarnation than homage.

With that said, kids will probably not care about these weaknesses and be left in wonder by the fight scenes and computer graphics, which are legitimately spectacular.

AKA Kids are stupid... hence they will enjoy the film...
Parents should be insulted that studios think of their children that way...

If you actually follow the film industry and the business side of things you will know that major companies do what must be done to see some money back. read the reviewer's claims of a good movie and you will know it. You can tell when a person is passionate about what has been done. It's a business and Fox did spend a lot of money on it. Fox owns 40% major outlets besides their movie studio. read up on their business end of things and you will find out who owns Fox and certain news outlets. you have to see these things with business. Like record labels you will see buying their own artists albums to go platinum so it gets media recognition and blooms a whole career. It happens all the time. read about sound scan and the same goes for the film industry.

Isn't it ironic that almost every negative review of The Dark Knight was from a NY journalist?. Because the city lost a lot of money that it could have made if the shares of a major studio filming in their city went through. Nolan not wanting to incorporate NY which has always been a filming ground or setting for Batman, had a lot to do with pissed of journalist outlets from there. You also have to remember that The Dark Knight is a WB franchise... There are divisions of other companies designed to ruin other movie reputations and such. A lot of corruption in Hollywood so don't think journalists don't get paid either on these matters.

Maybe not this particular guy who gave DBE a positive thing but his review was suspect. His review sounded like a bunch of Tag lines and a commercial for the movie. When you say "fans will like it"...you have opened doors for Fox to gewt people in the theater. If he has stuck to only his opinions and not what he thinks fans or anyone else may like then I would have seen it as genuine but there is too much "rooster" sucking going on in that review that I can't see it as a non paid review by Fox
