Oh God, Jesus, Mary help this film. It'll have a hell of a battle since so many want to see it fail. I hope it blows the roof off the box office just to spite you bunch of meanies.:cmad:
Yeah, it won't.

To be fair, I don't think you can blame Fox for this debacle.

I haven't really got much to say about this...film. Never been a fan of the source material so I was thinking that if I watch it with no prior knowledge of the mythos it could be enjoyable. I was wrong. Hammy acting, crap CGI and fight scenes (what was the budget for this?) and just a overall crap fest. That's coming from someone who is just judging this as a film, not because it's different to the source material. I never automatically call things that are different from the source material crap like some people, but I know when i see a crap film. This was it.

i beg to differ.
I can guarantee you if someone like Kazuaki Kiriya (or the like), and give them the same budget, they will give the entire world something FAITHFUL and cause everyone's heads to explode from its awesomeness.

Japan should have held onto this one, just like SF:ChunLi.
I PRAY they do like they did with Godzilla and make an actual GOOD version of their own.

So, errr what are you disagreeing with then? I said the film was crap, I didn't say the source material was crap. I'm not gonna judge something I've never really read or watched.

I would love to see Kazuaki Kiriya have a shot at a Dragonball Movie. He does some awesome visuals on a low budget.

Here's a Trailer from his newest Movie, Goemon. Which took an estimated budget of $15mil to make. Now imagine that guy with $100mil.

OMG:wow:

That looked incredible, the budget was only 15 million? That trailer had a very "anime" feel to it.

i can not belive that this is 15 millions.

p.s. there was a similar movie that looked like a live action anime movie. the hero had a white suit with a helmet.

Yeah, thinking about it, $15mil doesn't seem like much. He also did Casshern, which had a budget of $60mil.

Now thats how you translate animie into live action.

James Wong seen a very bad choice after this, yes, that is how it should be a DB movie.

If they do a sequel i want Wong out.

this is the movie that i meant.

that looked very interesting. of FOX tryed to copy a little from this movie then we would have a groundbreaking DB movie.

After watching "Dragonball Evolution" online, I can honestly say the movie was an abortion. In fact, it'd probably be more fun to watch an abortion being performed than watching "Dragonball Evolution". :o

Wow, that trailer was amazing! :wow:

I still don't think it's possible to make a good DB movie though. If you made it really accurate, it'd feel like you were on LSD while you watched it, and if they changed it, even if it was well made, the fanboys would whine about it to no end. The fact that DBE is crap doesn't change the fact that the first thing 90% of the fanboys complain about is the changes, and that tells me that DB is not a property worth pursuing on film.

Actually a number of fans on this board at least, wouldn't mind a well made Dragonball film with changes. A lot of us including myself were fine with changes being implemented but the changes that were taken for DB:E were definitely not for the best.

With a director like Kazuaki Kiriya he could turn Dragonball into the film most fans wanted and also pleasing the general audience.

That look's amazing. That director should have done Dragonball.

a dragon ball movie doesn't have to be in english. in fact, i think it works better in japanese just cuz it's the language it was originally told/showed in.

but uhh...dragon ball evolution? wow. so strange, words cannot explain.

i kinda like it i guess. it was a bad movie in way that you can laugh at it. it just depends on how much you like dragon ball. it almost seemed like a parody to me. but all in all, don't take it seriously. that's all i'll say. i thought it was better than street fighter though, hahaha. that thing was a piece of crap. by the way, goku's hair seemed to get better as the movie progressed. by the end of the movie, his hair was awesome...i don't see why they couldn't have it like that throughout. but you'll see what i mean if you've seen it.

i do want to see a sequel though. i thought the stylized look was cool, and the fights were cool too. i just hope in the next movie, it's just straight up all fights. like...i really wouldn't mind if the whole movie was just the tenkaichi budokai all the way through with no story, just fight after fight with corny jokes here and there.

Has anyone here actually seen Casshern? The trailer makes it look badass and amazing, but it's not. It's hodge podge of every movie genre half-assed and crammed into a cheesy, new age mess. You have to wade through like an hour of melodrama before you get to that robot fight scene, and it's not even that good compared to many other actions flicks like the Matrix or even Ultraviolet. LOL.

Wow, Ultraviolet. Trailers are certainly misleading.

WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING?!

Cassern was amazing!! I own the DVD and I can honestly say that this movie was great. It had a COMPLETE anime style to it. Not all anime's are fighting from beginning to end. If you like a good fiction story with some amazing visuals and bad ass action scenes, check out Cassern.

And if Warriors Z or Cassern would have influenced a Dragonball movie even the slightest, we would be looking at another Xmen franchise or Batman. But no, FOX always goes cheap with their purchased intellectual products.

WTG Fox. You screwed over everyone.

Okay, I dare people to rent or buy the movie or download it or whatever. They'll see it's a waste of time.

Casshern had an interesting start but the story never truly fleshed itself out and it's just actiony for little to no reason outside of itself. It was actually kind of depressing that it was so disorganized..

So I would say that I agree on trailers being misleading. Watching the movie itself is key. Until the Dragonball movie appears stateside, I don't think I'll be watching it.. Low expectations + supposedly horrible Movie =/= letdown.

Casshern, although I haven't seen it, is probably a lot better then "DB 'Catchy Name' E"

Well lets get back to the point that REALLY matters here:

Love it or hate it, Cassern is still better than DB:E.
